Great assortment of Boston/New England food staples. Christina was an excellent tour guide. Would definitely recommend.

The best food tour I’ve ever taken!

Doug_W, Apr 2026
I’ve taken many food tours, all over the world…this is the best one I’ve ever taken! Judy is an exceptional tour guide & having Jill along was such a nice addition. The food is the absolute star of this tour, tho!!

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you so much for this amazing review—it really means a lot, especially coming from someone who’s taken food tours all over the world! Judy & Jill had such a great time with you too — we heard you were just as much fun to host as the tour was for you! We also loved getting to feature you in a little “fueling a marathon runner” moment after you crushed the Boston Marathon the day before—seriously impressive - and thank you for being such a great sport about it! And yes…the food really is the star of the show - you can't beat the best versions of the iconic Boston classics! We’re so grateful you joined us and hope we get to host you again on another visit to Boston.

Best food tour ever!

This is a wonderful overview of Boston’s famous foods. Katie was a great guide. She is knowledgeable and fun. This is our very favorite food tour ever! Each spot had a nice space set up for us and a gave us a really nice-sized portion. The final stop was the nicest! This is a must do for foodies and some great history thrown in too. More food than you can eat. Highly recommend!

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Hi Terri! Thank you so much for joining us and for sharing such a wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed exploring Boston’s famous foods with us, and that Katie made the experience both fun and informative. We love showcasing the city’s culinary gems and sharing a bit of Boston’s history along the way. It means so much to hear that this was your favorite food tour ever—what an honor! We’re so glad you enjoyed the generous tastings and memorable stops (especially that final one!). We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to see you on another Bites of Boston Food Tour soon!

Highly recommend this tour

Great tour with fun history, a lot of food and a nice amount of walking around the city. Katie (#102, apparently 2 Katies work for this company) was friendly, knowledgeable and a great guide. She made everyone feel comfortable and provided a lot of fun history facts about the city as well as its food but was not overpowering. The food was great and there was a lot of it. You definitely do not need a meal after this tour and it is coordinated to almost start with an appetizer, the beans and brown bread and end with dessert. The boston cream pie. All of the food was very good and each stop came with history about the food at that location. Katie also mentioned the history of some other restaurants that we didn’t stop at. There is an option to add two beers to your tour ticket and they space it out well. The beers are at stop one and three. There are 4 food stops on this tour. I have done food tours in many cities and this one ranks as one of the best. I will definitely be trying more of their tours.

Thank you so much for this wonderful review, Kathryn! We’re so happy you joined us for a taste of the Freedom Trail and that you had such a great time with Katie. She’ll love hearing your kind words! At Bites of Boston Food Tours, we’re all about sharing the city’s delicious flavors and fascinating stories, so it’s great to know the mix of food, history, and walking felt just right. We’re especially honored to be one of your favorite food tours—that truly means a lot. And yes, ending with Boston cream pie at its original birthplace is a pretty special finish! We hope to see you again soon on another Bites of Boston foof tour!

Fun way to see Boston and taste of Boston

Edward_M, Sep 2024
With Judy as our tour guide, we learned a little about Boston and the freedom trail as we tasted iconic Boston foods. Great choices from baked beans to original Boston Cream pie. The 3 hours went by really fast. We were full and had fun. Definitely would recommend!

If in Boston, Katie is a must!

Brad_S, Jul 2024
Katie was fantastic! I would suggest removing the baked beans with Italian food. Extremely knowledgeable!

Judy was the perfect tour guide. We loved learning some Boston food history and trying the yummy foods. In our group the clam chowder was the winner. Very enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.

Food History of Boston tour

Lora_W, Sep 2021
My husband and I are from New York. We both really enjoyed this food tour. Gave us the background of 4 classic Boston dishes, beans, chowder, lobster rolls and Boston cream pie. Boston beers were also available. Alissa was a great tour guide, very informative and friendly. Great way to start your time in Boston

Great guide and tour!

Great guide, knew a lot of Boston history and was very professional. Was a great tour! Visited four locations and was given history on each location plus some off beaten path stories. Really worth the time and cost.

The Best Boston Walking Food Tour

DeniceM_G, Apr 2021
This was the 5th Walking Food Tour I've taken in Boston. It was the best one by far! The guide was the most knowledgeable, the food was the best and was a good variety and the guide was easy to understand. I will be taking more tours with this company when I return to Boston.

Response from Host, Apr 2021

Thank you so very much, Denice. It was a pleasure to have your join us on our Classic Bites of Boston tour and we look forward to seeing you again in the future for more Boston food and fun!

Must-Do While in Boston

Heidi P, Sep 2019
I thought this tour would be just about food, which would have been fine with me, but it was so much more! Maggie was a wealth of information about Boston history, both food and non-food related. The tour was paced well, and the sampling of iconic Boston foods ranged from Boston baked beans (which aren't really baked) and Boston brown bread, to Legal Seafoods' clam chowdah, to the classic lobstah roll, to the piece de resistance: Boston cream pie, which is neither pie nor cream! I cannot recommend this tour more!
