Smaller than expected and not as interactive as we hoped. There’s still a lot of reading for children eg Interactive meant pulling out a drawer to read a label.
It was OK but not worth the money in my opinion.

Some really interesting exhibits but more of an attraction than a museum. A subject that should be treated with sensitivity but there's an emphasis on fun and pushed as a family activity, so there were a lot of kids running about pressing buttons and messing about. Ruined the experience a bit.
My advice, go when it's quiet.
A great museum but ruined by being overrun with kids.
Sorry for being grumpy.

It's quite a small museum, but provides an interesting insight into GDR history. There's lots of information in English throughout the exhibits.

Great really enjoyed it it's so interactive. Very busy and at times you couldn't move for people. That said it's recommend

Dissapointed with the museum, 1 big room with small boxes to open for information. The second part was 3 bedrooms 1 kitchen and a living room not much else to say about that part.
Our e passes would not work and asked tge staff for help 3 times, the first 2 times they just said keep trying and the third I showed her my e tickets and had to tell her to open the gate.
Around In my opinion a waste of money.

We really enjoyed the museum. We loved that many of the exhibits were interactive. Really loved being able to sit inside the Trabant and to see inside a makeshift home from the GDR. That was really good.

Definitely worth a visit - very clever layout and interactive. Good value for money, takes about an hour.

Much smaller than I expected but gave a good perspective on what it was like to live in East Germany in the 40s 50s and 60s. Exhibits included cars of the period household goods and a model of a East German apartment flat

Great museum about history of the DDR. Lots of exhibits, videos and readings. However, it was extremely hot inside (no a/c) and crowded so we cut our visit short because we were very uncomfortable with the heat. This building needs a/c to allow people to be comfortable.

The system to get the tickets on my phone was a nightmare
We finally got in, but without much help with people at Viator on the phone.
The museum was great

Absolutely loved it, such a great experience. I could have easily spent the whole day there reading all the info. If your doing a museum this is a must.

This was a good, interactive museum. It was informative and had good English translations for all plaques.

Hassle getting in as voucher doesn’t have a QR code or barcode so had to email the voucher for printing to the ddr museum. A lot of hassle and unnecessary. Once inside it was such a great place with different things to see and do. Would recommend.

Really informative and enjoyed it. would recommend all ages to explore and interact as there is something for everybody.

This was a fun museum to see how life was in East Berlin. I wish I had more time and it was not as crowded.
Josefine_A, Apr 2023
We really enjoyed seeing the DDR museum. It has a lot of interesting facts and exhibits. However, it is pretty small and crowded, so would recommend not going at the busiest time.
Emma_P, Oct 2022
Whilst the DDR museum is relatively small, it's really informative and a great experience for those wanting to learn what life was like living under Soviet rule after WW2. Lots of interactive displays, including a mock up flat, Trabi driving experience and interrogation room. We arrived at 10:30 am and it was relatively busy during our 2 hour visit, so I would recommend that as the museum does not close until 9:00 pm that you consider a later visit to avoid the crowds.

By getting the ticket ahead of time it was just a matter of showing up and you are provided with many exhibits that show the daily life for those in East Berlin and Germany. Different rooms show a different part of life: home, school, working, shopping, transportation and so on. Definitely a must see!

This museum is small, but interesting and thought-provoking at the same time.
I particularly appreciated the kitchen recreation showing how many had to live in a small spaces assigned to them by the government.

Wonderful..great interactive museum. It was very very crowded making it difficult to see all the displays.
Learned allot and was glad I went.

Very interesting hands on museum. We learned so much about what life was like in East Berlin during the Occupation. We highly recommend this great museum, plan on spending at least a couple of hours, so that you can enjoy the great video.

Very nice little museum. Always worth a trip. The best way to get to the nearby car park is by car.

Vigtigt at holde historien i live. Også de frygtelige hændelser. Fint museum med et godt indblik i dagligdagen for mange år siden.
