We had a great fun tour with Dimitri! He was so positive and had a lot of information about Athens and the food! He was welcomed as family to each area that we visited. We had spanakopita, honey, olives, gyros, and loukoumades! Everything was so good! We highly recommend this tour!

Wonderful tour! Our guide brought us to multiple stops and we tried a variety of food. He explained some background about the different dishes.

This was a wonderful tour with a kind, warm and informative guide. We ate some incredible food (our bellies were so full that we strolled home for a nap afterwards). It was also a great way to see an interesting part of the city. We all thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens.

I took this evening food tour with my teenage son and we had a great time. Lucas was very engaging and it was great to have someone local share some of the Greek culture. The food was good and included standard favorites like souvlaki, but also included some dished that I had not previously tried.

Our flight got delayed, so requested Viator to help in changing our food tour to next day. THE VIATOR REP WAS COMPLETELY USELESS AND UNHELPFUL AND SAID NOTHING COULD BE DONE AND WE LOSE OUR ~$250. Kudos to the local tour company and they moved our booking to the next day without any drama. Lesson learnt, WHY PAY VIATOR 20-30% MARKUP FOR DOING NOTHING AND JUST BOOKING DIRECTLY WITH THE PROVIDER. Now 5 stars & two thumbs up to the tour operator - True Voyagers for understanding our situation and accommodating us the next day. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food tour experience and would highly recommend if you are looking for a fun basic preview of Athens street food. Since out of 5-6 tastings, two were honey tasting and a dessert stop, maybe adding one or two more tasting stops would make this a 5 star experience. However would highly recommend and I would do it again next time I am in Athens. Would suggest you book directly with True Voyagers and not pay Viator a fee for doing nothing. I use them all the time, but maybe not anymore !!!

Konstantina gave us a brilliant introduction to the Greek cuisine. We got all the staples and explanations of when, how and where the food started.
We left full, happy and educated with plans as to where and what we are eating for the rest of our trip

My 8 year old and I took this tour on our first night in Athens. Not only was it a great introduction to the city but also a wonderful way to get our first taste of Greek food. The food was varied and plentiful. The tour guide was welcoming and knowledgeable. Exactly what we wanted and more.

Lucas and the food tour definitely exceeded our expectations! Each stop and food offering was well explained and all of the food was delicious. We tried way more dishes than we thought and the wine offered during the main courses was very good! The tour was well worth the price and we would highly recommend this food tour to anyone wanting to try a little bit of everything in Athens.

We had a great time on our Athens food tour with Zefi! She was a kind and knowledgeable host, and pretty much everything we ate on the tour were among the best things we tried during our week and a half in the Mediterranean. This tour is a great move for anyone looking to try delicious foods and get a great intro to different Greek dishes and locations in Athens.

Clair was an educated and informative guide. She led us through several stops which included tastings of all the traditional Greek foods. This tour was one of my family’s favorites! Two teens and two adults. Dimitri was so sweet- showed us around the Athens where the locals eat and shop at various markets. He also gave us recommendations for the other places in Greece we were visiting. While we booked a small group, this ended up being just our family and tour guide so a private tour! I appreciated that it was not cancelled. Definitely save room as there is a lot of food! Just the gyro sandwiches alone would probably fill one person up! Everything is so good you have to eat it all! We also did a honey tasting and the owners there were so “sweet” and threw in free items on top of what we bought. The food was fantastic and Lucas was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable and interesting. We learned a lot about the city and Greek culture as we moved between locations. My only advice is not to eat for 2 days before this tour! :)

Lucas was absolutely the best guide for our tour. His knowledge of not only the food, but the history of Athens helped us to understand the city so much better. He was personable, polite and very accommodating. He made sure our unused food was given to those struggling to survive. Lucas’ training as a teacher came in so handy as he described everything we saw and ate! The food selections were excellent and probably the most food we have eaten on a food tour.
