Pick up and drop off were on time. Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Tour was excellent, and it included lunch

This was a well organized trip. We got picked up on time and taken to another location where we waited for others to join us. We rode in a full size bus but there wasn’t many of us. Our guide gave us a lot of information on the way. We had a snack stop about 2/3 into the trip. The ride was nice. I didn’t realize that it was going to be in two languages so she would speak in English and then again in French. Then when we arrived to Delphi, she took us into the site. It was quite hot by then and speaking in two languages became a bit of an issue because it meant that every time she stopped to talk it took twice as long to deliver the information. We weren’t given enough time to see the whole site. We had to rush to the top to see the stadium then rush back to get to the museum in time for her tour of the museum. Every part of this was good, it was just the timing because of the double description of everything that was tiring. Then we opted out of the lunch and were left in town to find food. We found a cute place but had to rush for a pick up which they were 10 minutes late for. It would have been nice to have a little more time in town. Then we made a quick photo stop outside the city to get a picture- you don’t stop in town like the itinerary suggests. Then back to Athens with one more stop for a bathroom break.

This was an awesome experience, and we highly recommend this tour if you want to get out of Athens, and learn something new! The guide was great.

This was a very long trip but the drive to Delphi was wonderful, alot of historical sights to see along the way which our guide made sure to point out. Delphi was breath taking. The climb up to the temple of Apollo, ancient theater and other sights is a must see. Only downside was that the museum tour felt slightly rushed and we didn't get alot of time to view all the exhibits. The four course meal afterwards was delious.

Delphi is amazing; there's such a sense of weightiness from the waves of myth (Gaia, Pythia, Apollo, Christianity) and its importance in the ancient world.
It was therefore such a disappointment that our "licensed guide" did not cover Delphi in adequate detail. They did not even mention the Omphalos! Furthermore, after a brief walk to The Temple of Apollo, the guide decided that the tour was done. The amphitheater and stadium at Delphi are magnificent, and when the group said they wanted to visit, the guide gave us about thirty minutes to cover all of that. We had to racewalk to the top and had no time to take it in before we had to return tot he meeting spot. And then... the guide scheduled less than an hour at the museum... one could spend hours just with the Charioteer alone!
I hope this is just a quirk of this one particular guide. Usually guides offer their services, but don't get upset if people want to explore the museum on their own, right?
The timing on this tour seemed totally off. We ended up spending upwards of 30 minutes at rest stops and had nearly 1.5 hours for lunch, but were rushed through the stars of the show (the ruins and the museum) in less time. As an Australian member of the group complained, one doesn't fly halfway across the world to be told there's no time to see the amphitheater and stadium at Delphi!

We met at the hotel, took a (24 cap) van along with a small group on a 3 hr ride. AC was not cool enuf (cooler towards the front) and 1 seat belt didn’t work, but otherwise … nice to have WiFi, rest, restroom stop 2 hrs in, tour along the drive. We got there and while little shade it was cooler than Athens & a tad breezy. Uphill hike but left early to seek AC in museum. Then enjoyed guided museum. We got no admission, no lunch & bought our own tickets with the agencies direction. So after site/museum stop they dropped us off at Hotel Delphi & we had a panoramic view and a great lunch for 15 euros/pp. The drive home was also chill WiFi, sleep … NOT touring 5000 steps in sweltering heat . Our tour guide was excellent.

The tour itself is very good. But the pick up and drop off can be much better. We were on the bus for an hour at pick up which took us to a central location where people changed buses for other tours. Drop off too could be better. They should provide an option to be at the location of where the actual bus is departing for the tour.
As I said the actual tour at Delphi and tour guide are good. The pick up and drop off added a lot of extra time on the bus.

Very well organized. As informed, the bus came to pick us up on time in the morning at our hotel. Small group and well planned. The guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Lunch was great.
Alison_D, May 2026
We had a great time and learned a lot, and recommend you run up to see the stadium. We think more time at the ruins would be great but the crowds would make a leisurely tour impossible.
We wanted more time at the museum (could it be possible to offer that vs lunch and pick us up on the way back?).
The pre-paid lunch was okay, but the chicken was over-dry. People who ate in town were satisfied with their choice.
Shawn_K, May 2026
The guide for this trip was excellent- lots of knowledge and clear instructions. The only real challenge was right at the beginning of the trip, finding out which bus to get on. There were several groups in an area. Signs would have helped immensely.
Pat_M, May 2026
You receive a brief overview of Arhens as you leave the city. You will have a short stop going up to Delphi. Once at Delphi there is a climb to where the Oracle met. You did not have to climb up to the stadium that was optional. The tour fascinating. The museum had an extraordinary bull in silver and a beautiful charioteer statute. Lunch was a feast with several courses. The ride back had a brief stop to take pictures of the nearby town and a very short stop for a rest break before you head back to the traffic of Athens. It was an enjoyable excursion, but bring your water if it is hot.
Karen_H, May 2026
Delphi well worth the trip and the bus transportation and tour leader were excellent. Would not drive this on our own. Lots of walking. Bring poles if you need them. Taverna meal looked good. We brought a picnic but may have bought meal if we had known we could order ala carte at the taverna. Trip back good. Sunday traffic minimal.
Matthew_H, May 2026
Walking to the top to see the Stadium is a must and do not get put off by the guide if they say the stadium is better. Both are fascinating in different ways.

Great tour with a great guide. Evie was very knowledgeable and friendly. The bus was nice and the trip was comfortable.
Christine_B, May 2026
Delphi sits in a breathtaking mountain region. The ruins were worth seeing. The tour guide was passionate, knowledgeable, and interesting.
Unfortunately, we all agreed, the six-hour round trip journey on a cramped and uncomfortable bus, spoiled the experience. Even had the bus been larger, more comfortable, it would be difficult to recommend a six hour bus ride for a 2 hour stop.
I would suggest looking into options that would allow you to spend a couple days in the area instead.

Thank you for your feedback and for your positive comments regarding Delphi and our guide. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the archaeological site and appreciated the knowledge and passion of the tour escort.
We would however like to clarify for future travelers that Delphi is located approximately 3 hours from Athens, and the total driving time for this full-day excursion is clearly described in the itinerary before booking. This tour is specifically designed for visitors who wish to experience Delphi in one day while staying in Athens.
Regarding the coach, our tours are operated with modern, air-conditioned tourist buses that comply with all transportation and safety standards. As this is a shared group tour, vehicle size may vary depending on the number of participants on each departure date.
We absolutely agree that Delphi and the surrounding mountain region are beautiful enough to deserve a longer stay, and for travelers seeking a more relaxed pace and deeper exploration, a multi-day tour can indeed be an excellent option.
Thank you again for joining our tour and for sharing your impressions.
Best regards,
Hara

Very good trip. Knowledgeable guide.
Booked an English speaking tour - it was bi-lingual, French and English. While guide did her absolute best - pretty much impossible to give the best information out when speaking two languages. Feel I missed out by not having what I paid for - “an English guided tour”

We travel extensively, but use organized tours on a very selective basis. Every Viator tour has been a first rate experience, and this one of Delphi was the perfect example. Well-organized: left on time, first class travel with a safe drive and vehicle who negotiated tough terrain. Glad I didn't try doing this on my own. Bio breaks coming and going. Our tour guide Valeria was highly knowledgeable and her enthusiasm for the subject was infectious. All made for a wonderful and informative day. Heads up: It's a long day requiring a lot of climbing on uneven surfaces., so come prepared, dress accordingly. You will go home tired.

Stravos was incredible and full of knowledge. He kept us entertained throughout the bus ride with facts and stories about Greek economy, culture, and history. He did a great job of taking us through the site and museum and was clearly very passionate about his job. Logistics were all handled perfectly. Highly recommend!
The lunch option was not bad but I would recommend exploring/finding a local tavern in the town instead.
MarcAndre_R, May 2026
Take time to shop for your activity to Delphi. A Little more Time in the village of Arrachova worths it.
Lunch time is quite chaotic in the "restaurant" (cafeteriat).
Michelle_D, Apr 2026
Our guide was incresible, the lunch and exporing is something not to miss for a day trip from Athens. A must do!

Helena was a very friendly, competent and knowledgable guide! Thank you also to Ioannis (driver) ;) very nice experience.
Micaela_L, Apr 2026
The museum and archeological site itself were great, worth the drive from Athens. Sadly, the tour guide, Anthony lacked professionalism and patience. From one location to the next, everything felt very hurried and even throughout the museum, all rushed. There was no warnings we were approaching the museum so even leaving the van felt rushed and we left many necessities for our toddler in the van. While in the museum, it was interrupted multiple times by his personal calls which he accepted. Lastly, we didn’t get to the lunch stop until almost 4 pm, and it was severely overcrowded and also lacked decent food or service (waited over 30 mins to have water and for waiters to take our order). Due to a tardy service at the lunch spot with mediocre food, we only were able to spend only 20 minutes at Arachova which sadden me terribly. I would have preferred to leave earlier to see more and not feel so rushed. The spots themselves were not very toddler friendly but made worse by a sense of rush all day long.
Manolis, the driver was very nice and professional, helping where he could. The van was wonderful, very comfortable.
Eileen_R, Apr 2026
Great tour with an extremely knowledgeable guide. Anastasia knew all about the site and also about points of interest along the way. I wanted to also thank the organizers. I’m a bit of a nervous traveler, always sure I will be at the wrong place or the wrong time. The organizers were so communicative and thorough that I felt confident the whole time. Thank you!
Madhuri_S, Apr 2026
The ride was good but could have had more comfortable seats as it was long distance.
The guide was articulate and well informed.
Christian_V, Apr 2026
The trip was very well organized. Fryni, our guide, was professional and kind and she gave us information about Greek culture through out the whole journey to Delphi. The driver was very pleasant too. Delphi's temple and museum are worth visiting for their historical, cultural and spiritual importance. The trip there is a bit long but doable. I can recommend.
Christopher_F, Apr 2026
Nicholas the driver was absolutely great and safe, Jordan the tour guide was very Educated in history. But seemed to get upset when people asked question which was weird for being a guide.....other than that he was a great guide if you just fo with the flow...
Cumara_O, Apr 2026
Delphi is impressive and beautiful beyond words. Well worth the long drive. I would suggest skipping the arranged lunch. Wish I had not. It was a buffet in a hotel which was fine but some of the group who didn’t pay for lunch got free time to eat in a small quaint town. I think that would have been much more unique & charming. The museum was just ok. The highlight was the archaeological sites outdoors and I would have spent all my time there instead of the museum
Allen_F, Apr 2026
It’s about a 3 hour ride to/from Delphi. We were picked up from and dropped off at the we selected, which was convenient. There was a rest stop about halfway through the drive in each direction. I only wish we were allotted more time in both the archaeological site and the museum.
Sabrina_E, Apr 2026
This was a wonderful day trip to Delphi stopping along the way to visit two attractive towns with lunch included. I was grateful for the round trip hotel pick up and drop off.
Our guide, Constantina was very knowledgeable and kind and I learned a great deal about Delphi and really enjoyed the museum. I wouldn't recommend the lunch which was not the best Greek food. It's possible to grab something to eat at the rest stop on the way down or back or maybe at a Cafe in town while others are having lunch.
The bus driver was also very nice and a good driver.
