- In an effort to ensure that you will avoid any kind of discomfort and most importantly that you will feel comfortable, our guides may change order of the sites you may visit.
- Choose the private option for a more intimate experience at a starting time that can be arranged upon request
- For the option without entry tickets, the activity provider will buy in advance the tickets for you so as to avoid queuing, so carry some cash with you. Otherwise you can buy the tickets yourself but please make sure to be on time at the meeting point for the tour to start as programmed
- Entrance tickets (if you select option with entry tickets included) to be handed by the guide in paper form on date and time of the visit, at the meeting point.
- We cannot use the elevator to the Acropolis on group tours
- Infants must be carried by their accompanying adult, as strollers are not permitted inside the Acropolis.
- All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the tour.
- This tour includes approximately one mile of walking over uneven terrain, with uphill and downhill sections, as well as around 200 steps.
- The Acropolis of Athens is a citadel built on top of a relatively steep hill which can be slippery at specific spots especially when raining.
- ID check required upon entry for reduced/free tickets holders
- Bring a bottle of water (no cafe-bar at the site, only a water fountain), a hat, sunglasses, and an umbrella on a rainy day.
- The Acropolis of Athens is a citadel built on top of a relatively steep hill which can be slippery at specific spots especially when raining.
- Not suitable for people with mobility impairments.

We had an incredible experience on our Athens walking tour with an archaeologist—our guide, Peter, was truly outstanding. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Having someone with such deep knowledge and passion for history made everything come to life in a way that no guidebook ever could.
Peter explained the historical context, myths, and significance of each site with clarity and enthusiasm, making it engaging for both adults and kids in our group. We especially appreciated how he connected ancient history to what we were seeing in front of us, helping us better understand the importance of each landmark.
The pace of the tour was perfect, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and take in the surroundings without feeling rushed. Peter was also very friendly, patient, and attentive to our group’s needs.

Our guide was Natasha and she did an excellent job of giving us lots of history of the Acropolis. Natasha paced the walk really well so it didn’t feel like we were climbing a big hill. She is pleasant and knowledgeable and a veteran tour guide. Athenian Tours is a very organized tour company and we would highly recommend them for the Acropolis tour.

The ferry is Blue Star Ferries from Athens to Siros, Tinos and to Mykonos. We needed two nights there to enjoy Ornos Beach. It was fabulous but closes for winter around 20 October. In summer there are thousands of people. The fall is our preference.

Our tour guide (Orestes- spelling?) was very knowledgeable and entertaining in his delivery. He had a great sense of humor! He paced the tour appropriately and provided key locations for a little rest and shade as we progressed the long hike to the Parthenon. We would definitely recommend him to others.

The morning tours to the Acropolis are awful, it will be you, 3 entire cruise ships, 400 other tours and the other 5k people with tickets all trying to miss the heat of the day. It was so intense we couldn’t focus on the site. Late aft is actually perfect.

John the archaeologist was a great guide and leader! He made it a fun and enjoyable experience and shared a lot of descriptive insights into the history of the acropolis and other temples. Definitely try the earlier tours as it gets very crowded as the day goes on.

Confusing, but the staff was kind and helpful. All the moving parts to the reservation made it hard to understand. There was the admission price and then the guide price for everything. Expensive.

Amazing tour with lots of information and nice shaded breaks in between steep climbs up to the Acropolis. We also added on the Acropolis Museum tour after and loved the additional facts about Athens history. We booked the 8am tour and ended around 11:45 at the museum - right in time for lunch and beating the rush to both the Parthenon and the museum!

The "good" was the intial contact and overall organization was very good. The "bad" We were very surprised how steep and high up we had to walk on the mountain. The "ugly" The guide was very rude, monotone and very impatient with members of the group who didn't adhere to his exact directions. I wanted to get his name but each time I approached him he turned his badge so I could not see.

Angel, our guide, put meaning into our Acropolis experience. Without her knowledge and fun personality, we would have missed the stories behind all the places of interest we saw on the tour up the mountain. It's also a quite difficult climb due to the slippery stone surfaces and many steps. Angel advised us all along the way the safest paths to take and also took advantage of shady spots to rest. It was great to have that local knowledge guiding us.
