- In an effort to ensure that you will avoid any kind of discomfort and most importantly that you will feel comfortable, our guides may change order of the sites you may visit.
- Choose the private option for a more intimate experience at a starting time that can be arranged upon request
- For the option without entry tickets, the activity provider will buy in advance the tickets for you so as to avoid queuing, so carry some cash with you. Otherwise you can buy the tickets yourself but please make sure to be on time at the meeting point for the tour to start as programmed
- Entrance tickets (if you select option with entry tickets included) to be handed by the guide in paper form on date and time of the visit, at the meeting point.
- We cannot use the elevator to the Acropolis on group tours
- Infants must be carried by their accompanying adult, as strollers are not permitted inside the Acropolis.
- All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the tour.
- This tour includes approximately one mile of walking over uneven terrain, with uphill and downhill sections, as well as around 200 steps.
- The Acropolis of Athens is a citadel built on top of a relatively steep hill which can be slippery at specific spots especially when raining.
- ID check required upon entry for reduced/free tickets holders
- Bring a bottle of water (no cafe-bar at the site, only a water fountain), a hat, sunglasses, and an umbrella on a rainy day.
- The Acropolis of Athens is a citadel built on top of a relatively steep hill which can be slippery at specific spots especially when raining.
- Not suitable for people with mobility impairments.

Our guide, Natasha, was excellent. She was knowledgeable, personable, and funny. She involved everyone in our group and was a wealth of knowledge. Unless you’re well educated in Greek History, this guided tour is a must.

In the foot steps of the ancients. Literally. Each person should bring fresh cold water. Vending machines available but long lines at the start. Refilling stations along the route. Great tour including knowledgeable guide. We had Janus who spoke clearly in English and made the ancient history interesting for teens and adults alike. He handles the crowds well and found us shade at every stop.
Highly recommended to have a guide at this amazing site.

Stevi from Athens Tours was an excellent guide, adding real colour, stories and humour to our experience at the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum. She navigated the (very busy) crowds well and was very receptive to questions and feedback. The homemade stickers she gave all guests upon farewell were a lovely touch too.
It goes without saying that the sights of the Acropolis are stunning and having the added context of an expert guide is the only way to experience it. The new Acropolis museum is an excellent final stop too - a superb museum that will soon hopefully have *all* of the constituent parts of the Parthenon back under its roof…

Tour guide was a bit moody and office coordinator gave incorrect information about restrooms being the first stop. Tour guide didn’t stop and seemed upset when we asked about restrooms and needing to interrupt tour. Would have preferred more information about the details of the ruins rather than the history.

We had an incredible experience on our Athens walking tour with an archaeologist—our guide, Peter, was truly outstanding. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Having someone with such deep knowledge and passion for history made everything come to life in a way that no guidebook ever could.
Peter explained the historical context, myths, and significance of each site with clarity and enthusiasm, making it engaging for both adults and kids in our group. We especially appreciated how he connected ancient history to what we were seeing in front of us, helping us better understand the importance of each landmark.
The pace of the tour was perfect, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and take in the surroundings without feeling rushed. Peter was also very friendly, patient, and attentive to our group’s needs.

Our guide was Natasha and she did an excellent job of giving us lots of history of the Acropolis. Natasha paced the walk really well so it didn’t feel like we were climbing a big hill. She is pleasant and knowledgeable and a veteran tour guide. Athenian Tours is a very organized tour company and we would highly recommend them for the Acropolis tour.

The tour company were so nice and helpful. Meet up point was easy to find and guide really knew her stuff and how to pace the tour so she didn’t lose us, giving us time to take pictures. It felt seamless even though we were walking around in public with other people around.

The ferry is Blue Star Ferries from Athens to Siros, Tinos and to Mykonos. We needed two nights there to enjoy Ornos Beach. It was fabulous but closes for winter around 20 October. In summer there are thousands of people. The fall is our preference.

Our tour guide (Orestes- spelling?) was very knowledgeable and entertaining in his delivery. He had a great sense of humor! He paced the tour appropriately and provided key locations for a little rest and shade as we progressed the long hike to the Parthenon. We would definitely recommend him to others.

The morning tours to the Acropolis are awful, it will be you, 3 entire cruise ships, 400 other tours and the other 5k people with tickets all trying to miss the heat of the day. It was so intense we couldn’t focus on the site. Late aft is actually perfect.
