Best excursion ever
The weather was perfect. Nate and Ammon were great navigators of the boat. We saw bubble net fishing with about 6 sperm whales. Saw an Orca whale. Saw sea lions. Overall saw about 20 or so whales. The view was absolutely beautiful. Mendenhall glacier was nice too, but the whale watching was epic!!!

Amazing and informative flying experience. There is an audio recording to listen to explaining the various glaciers and points of interest as you are flying, during which our pilot, Jordan, added some of his own unique highlights and things to look out for. Even though it was a drizzly and misty day in the town when the cruise ship docked, the glaciers were crystal clear amd our views were amazing. Definitely worth the experience and I would recommend putting this on your itinerary!

After booking online the communication from Alaska Whale Tales was excellent. Directions and instructions were very clear. The bus ride to and from the marina was a lot of fun. After a short boat ride we were amongst the whales. We saw many different groups of whales. The captain and naturalist were awesome. Would highly recommend this excursion.

It was amazing. The staff on the boat were incredible. They made sure everyone had a wonderful time. The captain took us to see so many animals, humpback whales, killer whales, sea lions, sea otters, puffins, seals, dolphins. And then we saw beautiful scenery including several glaciers. Highly recommend this company.

The state of Alaska is enormous, and more than half of it is wilderness—so it should come as no surprise that a majority of Alaska tours are focused on exploring the great outdoors. You can go for a hike on icefields, take a boat ride to look for whales, get a bird’s-eye view of glaciers and fjords from a helicopter, marvel at the scenery in Alaska’s national parks, stay up late to see the northern lights, and hop on a dog sled. There are also tours in some of Alaska’s most popular cities, including expert-led sightseeing and foodie adventures.
