A professional Tour Guide from Continental City Tours will come pick your family up at the time your tour reservation at a hotel/restaurant/museum within the Washington D.C. National Mall/Downtown or the Arlington VA area. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about your pick up location and we are happy to verify on our end as sometimes the online system does not have all hotels listed or says it is outside the radius when it isn't- please just message/text us directly the address and we can confirm or recommend the nearest point. The reason for the pick up radius is to maximize your 4 hour tour time to dedicate to the tour itinerary/memorials and history. Your guide is the driver- he/she will remain in the vehicle and explain the history, significance, and more during your tour as you drive by many important buildings such as the National Archives, FBI Headquarters, Air and Space Museum and so much more! Your family will be able to step down and walk on the external grounds of the White House, the U.S. Capitol Building, explore and walk throughout the World War II Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and so much more! We are more than happy to make changes/modifications to Memorials/Monuments during your tour. If you are driving or have a car, please send us a message so we can provide you an address to park your car for free either within D.C. (weekends) or near The Pentagon (weekdays), your guide would be able pick you up and take you back to your car at the end of the tour. Thank-you. We appreciate your support!
Itinerary
Your day begins with pickup from your centrally located Washington DC or Arlington, VA hotel.
Begin your tour at the President's Church and walk to the front of the White House. Then, from teh US Capitol, take in panoramic views of the National Mall.
After passing the Washington Monument, your next stop is the World War II Memorial, followed by Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.
Two contrasting monuments are next: the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial.
Your next stop is the Arlington National Cemetery, the country’s largest military cemetery. Your tour includes a visit to John F. Kennedy's grave and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and you can also see the Changing of the Guard if you make a request beforehand.
U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial and the Korean War Veterans Memorial are the final two stops before your tour ends with drop-off back at your hotel.

Wow, we had such an amazing experience with Sebastian. We were blown away about his knowledge he shared about every detail of DC. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. Great way to see the best of Washington DC with a knowledgeable guide, definitely an enhanced experience! Our guide Helga was excellent! Knew the city and the sites, and was patient with us when we wandered. We would definitely do this again!

We were in ~ Dawn for the first time with my husband and I and my dad who turned 80. My mom recently passed and we made a promise to make his bday special. When we asked him what he wanted to always do it was visit the Vietnam Memorial. So we planned it. He’s a bit unstable for walking much so we booked the 4 hour Private tour. Sebastian was out driver and let me just say he was so educated on all the history but in a way that made it all so much fun. He was caring and accommodating to all our needs. This kid was only 21 and mom & dad you raised a great man!! I’d do this all over again with Sebastian as our guide. When we were done with our day it was hugs all around.
Tour guide and car were very good. Guide was super profesional and car was very luxurious. We were really satrisfied.
If you have 1 day and you want to see more than the obvious, Mark will tell you and show you to look at the monument referring to what was going on that the monument was intended to represent. Worth every penny!

This tour was fantastic!!!! Sebastian was so fun and knowledgeable We had 7 people and the Sprinter van was comfortable and perfect for all of us. Even though it rained (Sebastian had umbrellas for us) he knew the exact route to take and gave us lots of photo opportunities. Such a great way to see the city. I highly recommend!

I went with my husband and 11-year-old daughter and we loved it. We got to choose the things we wanted to focus on, and our guide, Cliff, was excellent. He was able to tell stories I had never heard about DC and I’ve been here many many times. We saw a lot in a very short time. We did the tour on our first morning here which was a great overview. Helga was amazing. She had advanced knowledge of not only historic events, places people. She also was up-to-date on current events. The entire tour was extremely thoughtful to our needs, and it was never rushed. Highly recommend taking this personal tour of Washington DC the best way to see the highlights.
We were so impressed with our tour guide Helga. She was not only professional and early to arrive but she knew so much history about the monuments and all the back streets to avoid traffic. Not only that, many of the streets were blocked due to the Freedom 250 Grand Prix. That didn't stop her from taking us to all the stops on the itinerary.
We learned so much on the tour and enjoyed being in our own group in an extremely comfortable Escalade. We had fun and it was a relaxing, yet entertaining experience. I like the way she let us get out and go explore on our own to take pictures and see the history up close. I made a special request at the end for a suprise trip to get ice cream for my Uncle and Helga didn't blink. She took us to a really cool spot called the Wharf. We ended up going back to the Wharf several more times. We enjoyed the area so much with all the restaurant options.
I highly recommend this tour. You will not be disappointed.

The private tour is a must! The driver, Melinda was exceptional! She had lots of knowledge of DC and the history of the area. Great experience and totally worth the price. The driver let us visit sites at our own pace which is a little slow. 5 & 8 year old kids so little legs that got more tired throughout the day in the DC heat. The ice cold water from the driver for all of us several times through the day was very much appreciated. If we do this again in a few years this is the only way we would see DC!
