It was great to be picked up just a few minutes away from our hotel, as we didn't want to rent a car during our trip in Seattle. Our guide, Ken, was waiting for our group at the designated spot. Before we headed off, Ken went over the flow of the day, including the rest stops we'd make and the itinerary in Mount Rainier. During the ride, we learned lots of fun facts about the city.
We stopped at a supermarket midway to purchase food items and to use the restroom. Restroom stops are available every 60-90 minutes or so.
The trip to Mount Rainer included many scenic stops and nature talks from Ken. The lengthiest stop was the one in Paradise, where we had about an hour and a half for lunch, some hiking, and checking out the gift shop. We also made another stop to check out more sights and visited a snack shop for ice cream.
All in all, we enjoyed this trip to Mount Rainier. We appreciated that all the planning was done for us, and in a thoughtful manner. And of course, a shout out to Ken for going above and beyond to make our trip a comfortable and memorable one.

The first stop on this tour was at a Safeway grocery store for snacks & a bathroom break. So you don't necessarily need to rush to get snacks for lunch. Our driver was John, bus 31. John was excellent. He was quite informative and pleasant as a guide. He also dealt with a very entitled passenger without losing his cool as this person was late more than once. The first time the group as a whole was pleasant about it, but the second time several in the group made it clear no one wanted them to hold the group up again. John was professional dealing with this passenger, even though the second time they were late getting back to the bus he had to search for them. He was very personable, overall kind and knowledgeable about what we were seeing and answering questions. If I did this tour again I would request him. We were very lucky with the weather as it was dreary and a little rainy as we left Seattle, but as we got to the park, the sun came out and the clouds cleared for wonderful views of Mt Ranier.

We had DJ as our guide who gave us such a great experience. We were able to see several different locations in the park. DJ knew all the best photo ops as well as sharing a lot of knowledge about the park! So nice to have everything planned for us as this was a last minute thing we decided to do. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I had the pleasure of doing this day trip with John as our guide. John was charming, courteous, friendly, funny, and as a native Seattleite, very knowledgeable about all the stops on our trip. He provided in depth details, tips on how to navigate each stop and offered many interesting facts along the route. We had 20 people in our van and John engaged with every group, took photos of everyone at each major site and kept us on a timely schedule. The views were gorgeous and we loved learning about and exploring more off the beaten path stops that we would not have found had we gone on our own. The weather cooperated well and the trip was absolutely delightful. We arrived back to Seattle with plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the evening. Thank you John and Tours Northwest for a fantastic day! Highly recommend this trip.

The tour guide, Lucinda, was very well-versed in all things Mt. Rainier.
She got us up to Paradise Inn early enough, so that the crowds weren’t too bad.
She always made sure the temperature on the best was comfortable.

Perfect for those who only have a day, this tour gives you a tantalizing tidbit of what the park has to offer. So leave your keys right where they are and forget the hassle of parking. The trip is exactly as advertised—a relaxing, air-conditioned tour through the park with a few highlight stops to whet your appetite for a return visit.

Dress in layers. Sit on the right hand side of the bus. Not behind the driver. Most of the views are on that side. Be ready to be amazed at every stop. I was surprised how each stop got better and better!!!

Lucinda was a fantastic tour guide. She was safe, attentive, informative and truly cared that we had a great experience. She gave clear, concise instructions and recommendations.

Our Mount Rainier tour was an incredible experience from start to finish. The mountain, waterfalls, forests, and breathtaking scenery made it one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever visited.

Ken was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and made it a lot of fun. Highly recommend this tour. We would have missed out on a lot if we tried to do it ourselves.
anne_g, Jul 2026
Ken was really knowledgeable about the park as well as trivia that pertained to everything in the park from the animals and what we would see as well as great photo ops. My mother was 88 and slower than everyone . She wanted to go down the trail to see the waterfall. Ken was kind and made sure she was safe during the whole trek. I really appreciated his humor and his experiences he shared with us regarding his past travelers. Definitely needs a raise!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Anne, thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review. Ken is a longtime guide with us and knows so much at Mt. Rainier - we're glad you enjoyed your day with him, and that your mom was able to get down to see the waterfall. Thanks again!

Exceptional tour guide with details of the trip and what to expect next. Local history and knowledgeable about the sites and community. Water and cooler provided during trip for all. Guide would offer picture taking for everyone along with where to get the best views of the beautiful land scapes.
Ngan_N, Jul 2026
Trip was alright. Smooth pickup and drop-off. They skipped Reflection Lake and some waterfalls listed in the itinerary. You can opt for hiking and did not have to wait long at the entrance.
