Sanjon was a great tour guide! She had a true passion for the subject and also was able to answer all our miscellaneous questions about Savannah. I would highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide, Sargon, was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. They didn’t just recite endless facts, but infused fun little stories and history. My (adult) son and I greatly enjoyed this tour. Highly recommend!

Sargon was a phenomenal guide! They were extremely knowledgeable and were happy to answer all my questions. It was a hot day and they made sure when we stopped it was in the shade. This was my favorite tour in Savannah by far! Thank you Sargon.

Such a great tour! Our guide was enthusiastic about plants and their relationship to the history of Savannah. It was fascinating to learn how the two fit together.
Susan_H, Apr 2024
Very knowledgeable. Knew what was in bloom so customized tour to timing. Could answer any questions and compare to our growing zone from home

Sargon was a wonderful guide! She was so knowledgeable about plants and very enthusiastic!! Talking with her was the highlight of my visit to Savannah
John_S, Mar 2024
S Sargon provided a lot of interesting information about many different plants and was able to answer all of our questions. She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Also her knowledge and insights about the various ironwork detail on many of the older homes was very much appreciated as well.
Danette_P, Jul 2023
Saragon was an excellent tour guide! We learned so much about Savannah’s history while gaining knowledge on the flowers and trees that inhabit the beautiful city.
Robert_G, Jul 2023
I am not into plants, I know nothing about them, but we thought this might be different and somewhat interesting. This experience was GREAT. Our guide, Charon(sp) was energetic, down to earth, explained everything on a level that I understood and very much kept my attention. She is a wealth of information and conveys it very well. The walking pace was perfect which we have found to be an issue with other tours- either too fast or slow. She also included an education into the iron works throughout the city. Well worth going on for anyone. Oh, and we know the real story about Spanish Moss !!

Sargon was an excellent guide! Fun spirit and you can tell they love to share! Definitely recommend this unique tour.
Shannan_H, Apr 2023
What an amazing tour! So much better than I expected it to be! Sargon knew so much information! Very awesome! 2 full hours of walking so pack hydration and wear good shoes for sure. Maybe a hat or visor too.
Matthew_N, Apr 2023
Our guide Sargon was very personable and knowledgeable. She was very good at putting the plants we viewed in a historical context. We highly recommend!
Patricia_D, Apr 2023
Our guide was excellent. She knew her topic thoroughly and communicated her knowledge effectively and enthusiastically.
Jolene_D, Apr 2023
Our tour guide, Miss Sargon, was the best! She was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would absolutely recommend this tour. It's very hands on and you can touch the plants as you get the name, history of origin and what that plant was used for either for culinary purposes or medicinal. Well worth it!
Patrick_M, Feb 2023
All the plants, and details therein. Guide knowledgeable, answered questions, provided historical context.
David_W, Nov 2022
What an amazing tour!
My wife and I were having a tough start to our day. Got a late start, brunch at a certain location was awful, tired (sixth day of vacation) and snappy with each other. Needless to say, we weren't in the best frame of mind at the start of the tour.
Sargon was awesome! Upbeat, honest, cheerful and most of all informative/knowledgeable.
My wife and I take a lot of tours on vacations, we don't like figuring out what to do and like the education of where we are at the time. BEST tour ever due to Sargon. I have no idea how she keeps all that information in her head and is so easy to be around. Changed our whole day!
Karen_S, Oct 2022
My mother and I really enjoyed our botanical tour experience even in October! The guide was so knowledgeable and friendly.
Sandra_W, Sep 2022
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the plants as well as the history and architecture. It was a very good tour.
Randy_L, Aug 2022
Sargon was an amazing guide who knew every plant in Savannah. I enjoyed the tour and learned many new things.

Stories about plants and their uses and folklore, the history of the cemeteries and their trees. The urban history of Savannah
Lisa_P, Apr 2022
One of the best tours I have ever been on. Sargon was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Loved it. Learned a lot!
KarinStadler, Mar 2022
Sargon was a wonderful guide!!! They were even able to keep my 12 year old son interested for most of the tour, lol. We learned so much about the local plants, and the history of Savannah. We would definitely take one of their tours again!
Mary_T, Feb 2022
Our tour guide was super nice and so knowledgeable of Savannah history and especially the trees, flowers and plants native to the city. It was a very pleasant experience. Do need to be able to walk for two hours which was not an issue for us.
Angeles_M, Dec 2021
Our guide was really knowledgeable and told us not only about plants but also about Savannah history and the beautiful houses along the way. We really enjoyed the tour.
Brigitte, Nov 2021
We loved the “Rising Voices” tour so much, that we signed up for this botanical tour with our same guide, Sargon. They took us through the same squares and locations we had been through on other less-worthy tours, but taught us all about the different plants and architecture along the way. Once again, Sargon impressed us with extensive, detailed knowledge of the plants, trees, and flowers throughout the city, as well as the historical relevance of the architectural trends that you imagine when you think of Savannah. This tour left us feeling like we had a totally unique experience. If we could give this tour 6/5 stars, we would!

Excellent tour! Interesting and fun guide, gave all the details we wanted on history, plants, etc. and showed us her favorite views, gates and more. A great way to learn Savannah!

Tour guide was wonderful. I felt she did not know all the flowers and plants, although she did know most and had great stories to go along with them. One drawback: people almost always sign up for an excursion they are not actually up to. This time it was an elderly woman. She was so frail (ill?) she could not keep up at all. At all. So the tour was stopped to wait up for this person. There needs to be a way to deal with these tourists so the others get to move on and get what they paid for. Refund the poor person, perhaps? Person had an adult daughter who blew off her sick elderly mother and continued on with the tour, ignoring the situation! Grrr. Other tourists were aggravated as well. Tour guides need to be ready for those who sign up and have no ability to keep up. The tour was not what it should have been. If the guide had explained that the tour had to go on for the paid guests and that she would refund the mother and daughter, it would have been the right thing to do. It was aggravating and distracting and we missed things. Tour guide offered to walk a little more with those who wanted to see more once the tour was ‘officially done’. But by then we’d had enough and we weren’t going to stick around for more nonsense. And, we were hungry. Sweet tour guide. Totally friendly. But all guides need to be able to keep a tour going. That’s what I pay for. And there is often at least one person who signs up and then cannot actually physically handle the tour
Response from Host, May 2021
Thank you very much for taking the time to provide feedback, it does mean a lot, and I understand your frustrations. Typical walking tour etiquette is to conduct tour at the pace set by the group as a whole - after all, when everyone has paid for the same ticket, it would be unfair to only give the tour to the fastest in the group.
However, this was a unique situation, and to be honest was absolutely the first time we had encountered someone being unable to keep up at all, or the other member of the party not keeping track of them. It definitely could have been handled better, and for that we apologize. We will make sure to have a policy in place for the future, one that is fair to all parties, so that this does not happen again.
The third party on that tour did leave a 5 star review of the experience, so perhaps they were less aggravated than you assumed. But we understand setbacks impact people differently, and it detracted from the experience for you. We are sincerely sorry for that.
We did later look up that one variety of iris we weren't able to provide you an answer for (any unanswered question is a learning opportunity!), and it was an African Iris. We had been hoping you'd leave a review so that we had a way to let you know about that one.

Sargon was an excellent guide and we learned a lot of interesting facts about Savannah’s history and the beautiful plants. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Thank you so much for leaving a review! I really enjoyed taking the two of you on tour, and sharing a little enthusiasm about the medicinal uses of the plants we highlighted! Don't forget, if you ever have any other questions about Savannah or any of the plant life or ironwork we saw, you can reach out on facebook or our website to ask!
Alexandra_E, May 2021
The tour was wonderful and our guide very knowledgeable. We looked at a great variety of plants and trees and learned about their unique traits and uses. A bonus was a look a quite a bit of botanical ironwork around the city and a brief overview of its importance in Savannah. We could have gone on twice as long and would go again in a heartbeat.
