Elf showed up on time to pick us up and took took us to the most scenic places you could think of, she was open to take us to anywhere we wanted to go, but she had a few hidden gems of our own. The best part was her company. We chatted all day and at the end of the day we left feeling like old friends don’t hesitate to take this trip. You will love Elf.!

Our tour was perfect! Elf is a wonderful person with so much knowledge of O’ahu. She listened to our ideas, asked questions, made suggestions and crafted exactly what we wanted (without us knowing exactly what we wanted). I don’t even know how we got so much in our day and didn’t feel rushed at any point. She’s an amazing person with a kind soul and years of experience. It felt like a day with an old friend. Highly recommend.

My husband and visited Oahu to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. Because we only have 3 days here before we move on to another island and because it’s my hubby’s first time in Hawaii, I wanted to find a private tour company to see interesting parts of the island while avoiding the tourist traps. Two month’s prior to our trip, I booked a private tour with Custom Island Adventure Tour. Our host, Elf reached out right away to get a sense of what we would like to see and where our interests lay. She was very responsive and designed an itinerary that allowed us to make the most of our time together. She was very candid about what we could and could not fit into a seven hour tour, which I immensely appreciated. We stayed in touch for the time prior to our trip and the night before, Elf called us to finalize our schedule and confirm the pickup time.
Elf arrived on time at our Waikiki and greeted us with her warm, beautiful energy. We had an amazing day! We took the scenic route to the North Shore, stopping a former sugar plantation where we sampled local coffee and amazing chocolate. Then we visited the cute little town of Haleiwa for coffee and shopping. Next we stopped at Waianae Valley, where we hiked to the Waterfall! The journey was unbelievably beautiful! We stopped for lunch at a cool little food truck park what we partook in Garlic Shrimp! Super tasty! We make a few stops at scenic overlooks and the to Byosin Temple. Before heading back to our hotel, we stopped at Leonard’s for Masaladas!
All along the way, Elf educated us on local culture and shared her “ good vibes”. Elf is amazing and am so grateful an unforgettable experience! I would highly recommend her company and hope our paths cross again someday!!

We had the most beautiful experience. Elf made us feel like old friends touring beautiful places, eating delicious foods, and hearing about the island. My teens were fascinated by her stories and “how she knew where to go for everything we wanted to see”. She goes above and beyond to share the ALOHA spirit. I did not attend this tour and was denied a refund the day before even though the company calls just shy of 24 hrs prior to confirm tour locations. Meaning, if you are denied a location that is provided on the website, you will be denied a refund. This seems extremely unethical in my book.
The tour does not provide sites as described on the website. The tour guide was extremely rude and abrasive and did not provide recommendations of where to go. I asked the tour guide to stop texting/emailing me after I asked repeatedly to not; however my ask was disregarded and she reached out to me four additional times.
If you book this tour you must do the research on your own and this service is basically a driving service. Save the money and rent a car for the day.
I would not recommend this tour to visitors.

One of the best tours we have ever done. Elf was the best tour guide & we felt totally at home with her. We had things we wanted to see that she was so knowledgeable on & she added her ideas that we enjoyed as well. If you want to take a tour with an awesome guide & catered 100% to your own private group-this is the one. Some of the best money we spent on our trip!!

Elf our quide was fun knowledgeable about Oahu and did what WE wanted. We toured almost the entire island for about 8 hours. I even saw a turtle on the beach. That was a must. Tour ended with a last min trip to Dole plantation. Dole Whip was ….WOW!!! Thanks Elf 🩷🌺

Elf was a great tour guide, really knowledgeable, gave us good history about the island, great tips & overall she was full of great energy! She took us to all the nice beaches , tried yummy Hawaiian food, went sightseeing & seen a beautiful temple! I loved it!

We had a wonderful time on this Custom Island Tour. Our guide, Elf, was professional and very accommodating. We had fun visiting the sites and beaches that we wanted to see and she showed us much more. Elf really knows the island and her food recommendations were perfect for us.

This custom tour is the best! We were able to circle the island and see the sights we wanted to see without ever feeling rushed. Elf knows the island so well and she tailored our trip to meet our expectations. We picked a few places and Elf surprised us with the rest. It was a perfect day! A stop at Ry’s Poke Shack is a must!

The personal tour with Elf is the only way to tour the island! Don't waste your money or time on the midsized or large bus tours. Elf is amazing and will work with you to customize the tour to areas and sites that you want to see. You can spend as much time at each place and are not rushed. She is a long time resident of Hawaii, a former surfer and now an accomplished body surfer... she is very friendly and has a great attitude.
We were picked up at our hotel in Waikiki and we went to the following:
Nuuanu Pali lookout
China Hat
Macadamia store
Byodo Temple
North Shore beaches
Lunch in Waleiwa and shaved ice at Matsumotos
Waimea falls
Dole plantation
We didn't do Halona blowhole as we did that when we did the Makapuu lighthouse hike
She doesn't work everyday so hopefully you can find a day when she is working... use her and you won't regret it.

Elf was fantastic. My daughter (23) and I had a few things planned and let Elf pick the rest and we were not disappointed. Elf accommodated all our requests and showed us some things we didn’t even know about. It was a nice relaxing day with enjoyable company. It was like having a friend who knew the area showing you her home island. Elf is part of our family memories forever. She is what I term “good people” who you feel better just knowing. Great tour and great operator. So glad she was real and not a “Karen”!

Elf is amazing. She is a Hawaii local for many decades. She is immersed in the culture and lifestyle. You will be picked up from your hotel and taken on an adventure all around the island. Based on your requests she can tailor the experience. We got to see so many unique and beautiful parts of the Oahu. Being with Elf makes all the difference of really immersing yourself in and understanding all the beauty Hawaii has to offer. Definitely book this private tour!

If you’re looking to book a private tour of Oahu, your search is over! While there are so many individuals and companies offering private tours, this is by far the BEST! First of all, let me start of by saying that ELF, the tour operator, is so knowledgeable about the island and all of the wonders it has to offer! She starts off by picking you up wherever you are staying and customizes your tour to include whatever you desire to do! No ask too big or too small, just make the request and Elf makes it happen. Better yet, if you don’t have any idea what exactly it is you want to do or see, no worries, Elf has you covered! First Elf took us to a local coffee shop, where you can get that perfect cup of energy to start your adventures. Next she drove us by the Dole Plantation on our way to the North Shore and Bonsai pipeline where rows of Pineapple plants were all the eye could see. No need to stop there, you can do that without a tour guide if you desire. After we had our fill of watching the surfers tear up the waves, Elf took us the shrimp trucks, so we could stuff our face with tasty shrimp plates! Next we drove to a cliff off the coast and take in some gorgeous views. Elf then drove us by Kualoa Ranch and Jurassic Valley on our way to Chinaman’s Hat. Elf took us to a macadamia nut farm, with awesome free samples and great souvenirs to bring home. Our next stop was the Valley of the Temples. One of the most beautiful cemeteries you’ve ever seen, with views from the top of the mountain that are to die for lol. Lastly, Elf took us on an absolutely breathtaking hike to a private waterfall that you’ll never be able to find on your own. Too many great memories were made and it’s all thanks to Elf! Stop thinking and just book her tour, you won’t regret it!!!
