We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Howes and the Hookers with our small group from our wonderful tour guide! Thank goodness for humor and our guide having an abundance of historical knowledge from the area! We learned so much AND had a great time doing it.

Thank you so much. Boston has a lot of history and witchcraft is part of that. The "Hooker" reference has nothing to do with witchcraft, but we passed the General Hooker entrance of the Mass State House that drew a laugh. He was a military general. The Howes were actually the Howens. Mrs. Howen believed Goody Glover cursed her. Mrs Howen died in 1682. Goody Glover was executed in 1688.
