It was good!

Jacque_L, May 2026
It was fine. Useful. Lots of information. The bus guides can be very entertaining! I would recommend if you are short on time or don’t feel like walking.

Great for Getting Lay of the Land

MaryRaz, May 2026
This tour picks up every 15-30 minutes and has 3 lines with transfer points, including Back Bay, Seaport, and the area spanning from the Financial District, Charlestown (Old Ironsides), North End, Government Center, Faneuil Hall, Boston Common, State House, and up to Boylston and Newbury. Nice drivers. Pretty packed. Tour busses end early, unfortunately at about 5 p.m

Good times

JULIA_B, May 2026
Great way to see the city! Boston traffic is no joke so it's nice to let someone else do the driving.

Loved this tour!!!

Julie_M, May 2026
It’s a great way to learn about the city and it’s nice to be able to get off and see what you want in each location and then jump back on! Super convenient and a great way to get around. The drivers are knowledgeable and entertaining.

Julie_S, May 2026
Riding the trolley was the best way to get your bearings in an unfamiliar city. We made note of places to go back to on other days of our trip that we would not have known about otherwise. The drivers/narrators were very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions and also make recommendations for restaurants and shopping.

Hop off-Hop On Bus in Boston

Susan_F, May 2026
Great experience! We rode the city bus loop completely first then started hopping off and on to see places. Our tour guide Sherry was fabulous! She made the experience even better!

Boston explorer

Chris_S, May 2026
The drivers are very knowledgeable and a good sense of humor. There are plenty of buses to hop off and explore as the buses come every twenty minutes.

Easy way to see Boston and attractions

Cara_S, May 2026
Easily accessible from all over downtown Boston (from North Train Station) and other areas. Rode the Green Trolley line and didn't get off until entire loop was completed (90 minutes)... had lunch in Quincy Market and hopped back on and rode it to stop 4 (train station)... perfect way to see Boston and so many historical spots! Had 2 different drivers and they were both great!

Great trip!

Lara_S, May 2026
Burnesy was a terrific guide. The weather was great so the windows were open. Very knowledgeable about Boston. Well worth the money.

Boston Tour Guides Erase Black Hustory

Annette_S, May 2026
Shame on Old Town Trolley Tours for erasing Black American history from their tours. On May 7, 2026 I was excited to learn more about the history of Boston but was thoroughly disappointed that three different tour guides on the Green and Orange loops intentionally ignored memorials and statues dedicated to the history of Black Bostonians (enslaved and free). The Robert Gould Shaw and 54th Massachusetts Regiment Memorial on Boston Common and the newest Unbound sculpture at Kings Chapel were not addressed. I have no idea what else was eliminated. Viator, you should include in your advertisements that The Old Town Trolley tours are for people who want a sanitized version of Boston’s history so we don’t waste our money.

Great!

Chasata_R, May 2026
This was a wonderful way to see the city! Some people in the bus were rude and wouldn’t stop talking when the driver asked them to keep it down. I wish their microphones were louder. We sat in the back and at points of the trip I couldn’t hear. I loved the tour guides ( we had 2) both were funny and informative. I felt bad I forgot my cash for tips, I had wished there was a tap and tip system to use for them. They deserved a tip! Also cards possibly with their names to mention in the review. We will recommend this tour to family and friends! Love you Boston!

Sites around Boston.

Karen_U, May 2026
All three drivers were very informative, with great sense of humor and friendly outlook. Alot of history in Boston. Felt the trip pointed out some great stops to visit.

Pudge was a smarta__!...

Kenneth_T, May 2026
Pudge was a smarta__! Wanted you to interact with him but couldn’t say anything, ask questions except when he wanted you too.

beantown tour

John_B, May 2026
biggest thing people need to know that this is a three-line tour with one stop intersecting all the lines. it should run later through the day. last bus is 5:15

Unorganized and Chaotic

Andrea_K, May 2026
We changed buses 4 times for a total of 4 hours on a bus or waiting up to 45 minutes! It was awful! The guides were okay but soooo loud and one talked nonstop!

An excellent tour

Stephen_Q, May 2026
This was an excellent tour. Pudge was a knowledgeable and funny and funny guide. I learned a lot about American and Bostonian history. We got a lot of great food and entertainment recommendations from Pudge along the way. I highly recommend this tour, it is worth the money.

Perfect for Seniors

Lynn_K, May 2026
Excellent easy way to see and hear about Boston. Did the complete City Tour and Back Bay tour from start to finish to get our bearings then rode again hopping off at various stops to explore. All guides brought humor and fun, especially Beanie.

Not for limited time

Brad_R, May 2026
Although the buses were nice and the drivers were well informed, we felt like we spent 1/2 of our day waiting for the bus to show up We were told that buses run every 30 min, but was actually like 45+ and no pattern…like on the hour, etc.

Wonderful experience

Tina_N, May 2026
This was a great experience I would highly recommend you do this it’s was the best way to see the city.

Nancy_C, May 2026
Great time, loved the flexibility to stay on or off, various drivers with interesting narratives, all good.

Loved the trolley!!

Terri_A, Apr 2026
Well we loved it, we got off and checked things out so we had 3 diff drivers and they were all great!! I loved Gemini.

Hop on Hop Off

Alan_A, Apr 2026
First time on audio was clear the second time it was not. Great information. Hit all the most important points.

Good but….

Patty_N, Apr 2026
Our experience varies by driver. Two of the three drivers were great with their knowledge, stories and humor and the third was simply awful as we actually got off at an unplanned stop just so we could switch tour guides.

Driving with Captain E

anthony_s, Apr 2026
The bus was very visible and easy to find, it seemed to run on time, our captain, captain e, she was a great narrator and knew a lot of local history while she was negotiating the insanity of the driving in town

Very interesting tour

Tracey_C, Apr 2026
The tour was very good. Bandit, or tour guide was really good. And the tour itself was interesting. The only downside is there wind was blowing pretty bad that day so they put the plastic window coverings on the trolley. They were so scratched up it made it hard to see some things and pictures were out of the question. But would definitely recommend the tour on a day the coverings weren't needed.

Good learning experience for a-st trip to Boston

Nick_S, Apr 2026
Covers most of Boston’s points of nye rest and the wait time at the various stops we made was relatively short.

Very knowledgeable...

Michael_H, Apr 2026
Very knowledgeable driver(s), great way to get a bigger picture of Boston without needing a car. You don't want a car in Boston for sure. Best driver was Quack.

Nice trolley

Mary_G, Apr 2026
Nice drivers, interesting info. Hard to find stop 7A, wasn't marked. Trolleys should run more often.

Hop on and off

Donna_B, Apr 2026
First time doing Hop on Hop off. I experienced two drivers. The second driver was very friendly and clearly enjoys his job.
