An Outstanding Guide Who Brings Philadelphia's History to Life
Tom was exceptional. I organized this walking tour as part of a visit to Philadelphia by an international group of Marshall Memorial Fellows, and I wanted an experience that would offer more than the usual introduction to the city's historic landmarks.
Tom was exactly the kind of guide I had hoped for. His knowledge of Philadelphia's history, engaging approach, and ability to make the city's past relevant to the present made this a particularly worthwhile experience.
What I appreciated most was the opportunity to explore Philadelphia through the perspective of someone genuinely invested in its history and significance. For a group visiting from abroad, that kind of experience is especially valuable.
I would enthusiastically recommend Tom to anyone visiting Philadelphia, whether you're encountering the city's history for the first time or looking to deepen your understanding of it. A terrific experience and a wonderful addition to our time in Philadelphia. Thank you, Tom!

My favorite tour in...
My favorite tour in Philadelphia. Very enjoyable and informative walk and learning experience in downtown Philadelphia. Our guide, John, got us thinking and asking questions about our US history, including about George Washington and William Penn, and the influence of Quakers and of slavery.

The historic walking tour...
The historic walking tour with John Donato was superb. I was struck with how much John knows about not only the history of the area, but also the less known tales of the people involved. His introduction of Quakerism and its impact on the developing democratic principles was fascinating. I would highly recommend this tour and this guide for forming a basis of understanding our democratic system.

Alma made the Italian Market so much fun!!
Our guide, Alma was wonderful (and related to almost everyone at the Market!). She was so organized and we loved all of the different stops. Our tastings were delicious. She knows the neighborhood well and we enjoyed her stories. It was a perfect Saturday outing!

Masterful Mosaics
A wonderful tour of fabulous street art in the neighborhoods around South Street. The tour mostly focuses on the elaborate and prolific mosaics by artist Isaiah Zagar, but you also see many painted murals along the route. Our tour guide,Tate, is not only knowledgeable about the art and the artists, but he knows the neighborhoods so well that he greets the residents on the streets by name. Truly, you get the local insider’s perspective. The tour ends at the entrance to Magic Gardens. Be sure to dedicate some time inside to appreciate the magnitude of Zagar’s immersive mosaic constructions.

Chuck was great. Loved...
Chuck was great. Loved his ability to share his connection to the shops and through it tell a story of people and community unfolding before you. Highlight of tour was hearing from Basil DeLuca, the "King of the Meatballs" at DeLuca's Villa di Roma. And having tastings while seeing how a community thrives through food and entrepreneurship... fun way to spend a few hours.

I visited Philly for the first time and wanted to do some type of history tour, but I wanted something that was unique and more in tuned with my personal interests. The Badass Woman's History Tour was perfect! I learned a lot of things about some amazing women, most of whom I had never heard of before. Alice was a great tour guide and was full of cool information, plus just lovely to chat and walk around with.

What a way to explore the city
What an absolutely fantastic way to explore the city. The guide Evan did a fantastic job introducing us to the food seen and giving some important historical insight as well. The food locations were amazing. We appreciated the variety of options and the fact we would have never seen some of the restaurants if we hadn’t been on this tour.

Captivating History Celebration
I took the audio tour of the museum, expecting I would leave quickly. I became engrossed in the audio tour, which made me examine the figures, artifacts, and stories closely. In the current climate, the National Park Service is forced to remove “unpatriotic” Revolutionary War accounts. I appreciate that the museum pointedly showed the experiences of varied groups of Americans. I also liked the exhibit of how the War, Declaration of Independence and Constitution impacted many nations through history.

10/10 Recommend!
Claire was the best guide! She gave a lot of extra stories, several great recommendations for our last day in Philly, and was overall a great human. There were two kids on our tour and she gave them options to make them comfortable with some of the spookier stories. Definitely recommend this tour and Claire!!

Must see and experience tour.
Will is a knowledgeable focused guide who knows what his group needs. He is very attentive and ready to answer any questions. He gave enough time for the whole group to discover everything. This tour is an easy walk that widens your prospective on how the US and the American spirit was born. Highly recommended.

They will show you a good time
I booked this tour during a business trip to Philly. Congrats to me, what a great idea! I met my guide, George, on the street near the first stop. He informed me that his other guests had canceled, so I was going to get a private tour. Woooo! What a night! I definitely experienced some bars I’d likely never had discovered on my own. George and I talked all night about drinking, life, and love. Thanks for a fabulous evening!
