Kenai Fjords Boat Tour

As soon as we left the harbor we were already seeing bald eagles, and multiple sea otters. The boat crew was very helpful and friendly, they all seem very knowledgeable on the local scenery and wildlife. In total we saw 6 total species, bald eagles, harbor seals, stellar sea lions, coastal mountain goats, and small jelly fish. The different coves are very unique and the stories behind some of them are very cool.

Shad was a great guide. He was personal and informative and waiting right outside our ship - so very easy to find. We saw bears, a waterfall, and learned about the salmon life cycle on a private tour. Made us want to come back to Ketchikan and stay for a week.

The whale watching was...

The whale watching was wonderful. We saw seals, whales and porpoises. The visit to Mendenhall glacier was largely self guided but it was great for hiking and enjoying the scenery. The vehicle drivers were great! Gave us lots of tips and information about the area.

So Many Whales!

My husband and I enjoyed this outing very much. Our guide, was so fun, friendly, and funny. He took great care of the group. The whale watching was great. We saw 7 whales, and many birds. The whales understood the assignment

My wife and I had an amazing experience with Catch of the Day in Hoonah aboard the Stormbreaker with Captain Dennis and his nephew. With a small group of about 10 people, we got to consistently watch 3–4 whales surface, dive, and slap their tails, and then we were lucky enough to see them breach, which was absolutely incredible and a true core memory. The boat was comfortable, with an enclosed heated cabin that was perfect for the Alaska weather. Captain Dennis and his nephew were friendly and knowledgeable, and we couldn’t have asked for a better whale-watching experience. Highly recommend!

Captain TJ and Andrew were the best guides! I loved that it was a small group which allowed everyone an opportunity to see the whales, it made for more of a personal experience. The inside of the boat was heated which was wonderful because it does get chilly outside. Their energy and knowledge made it an unforgettable experience. Best Excursion In Alaska!!!

We were on a cruise that had three ports of call which included this one. If I could only choose one thing to do on my entire trip…. This would absolutely be the one!! From Captain Ron - to Big D - to Dave - and the rest of the crew….. this was a once in a lifetime opportunity!! From the second we stepped on the crab boat….. we felt like part of their family. They had so much knowledge. They shared personal stories and answered any questions. We saw bald eagles and were lucky enough to see a whale. We held crab and sea urchins. My daughter is in a wheelchair. Big D and Dave - as well as the rest of the crew - made sure she was included in the entire experience!!! We all highly recommend this excursion!!! IT IS A MUST!!

Our whale watching tour...

Our whale watching tour with Capt Josh was fantastic. We saw lots of humpbacks including 2 females with their babies. Josh brought us close enough to get great views. We even saw Stellar Sea Lions and a lone Sea Otter that was floating on its back, letting us circle around so everyone could get the perfect view. Highly recommend this trip.
