Absolutely recommend! Lots of great food and interesting history. Andy did a great job being mindful and attentive to his guests, ensuring any dietary preferences were addressed. The walking was very doable, and a lot of fun to see the alleys and Chinatown. Be sure to get his list of recommended places at the end of the tour so you can check out a couple more! Perfect length with about 6 stops. Was awesome!

The tour was wonderful, our guide Tyco shared many interesting facts and stories about Victoria. He toured us around the city in a safe and leisurely way which was very enjoyable, and then we headed to the Butchart Gardens for a lovely long walk through the spectacular vistas. You need to do this!

Do it! Unfortunately don’t remember the name of our guide but she was fantastic (she gave us her card but of course I lost it - I believe she said she used to live in London) but this tour was extremely well planned and gave us so much history of Oktoberfest. So many things I would’ve never known had we not done this, like that the position of a bow on a drindl means something! Being on a tour with others made it a lot of fun and we got to meet a bunch of people. Amazing and of course great beer!

Shuttle is very convenient! Gardens are great, go on 9:30 am bus for least crowds.

The “office” where you redeem your voucher is actually a little umbrella stand in front of the bus. Go on the 9:30 am bus. The gardens are the least busy at opening. It rained the day we went and it was great because a lot of people don’t go when it rains! Rain was intermittent. Don’t bring an umbrella. They have plenty of free see through umbrellas for you to use. Taking photos on cloudy day is also good. You don’t need to worry about shadows or sun in your wrong direction for photos. We were amazed at the number of flowers in bloom- dahlias, begonias. Impatiens, mums , amazing varieties of coleus, trees turning gold and orange, penstemons, blue salvia and lots of exotic plants. The bus is just a shuttle but the local driver Sarah gives an amazing tour and narration. Everyone tipped her because she was so good. Hot dogs in coffee shop are good! We were done touring and were ready go back at 12:30 . If you want to see the Japanese garden the most, walk there first because the paths are narrow and not enjoyable later when too many people show up at once. Great place to visit !

Enjoyed the excursion!

Megan and her team were great naturalists on board, and did a super job of spotting, providing background, and details on the trip. Capt Richard managed the boat orientation very well, keeping our view consistent. Dress very warmly for late september. Rain gear, hat, gloves, if you want to experience the view from the deck side for long. We saw Orcas, humpbacks, steller sea lions, and mountain sheep. Very worth while excursion.

Highly Recommended Experience

We had an amazing experience on board the Springtide, watching humpback whales jump and dive. What a spectacular sight!! Katie was our extremely knowledgeable guide. Not only did she know and understand the individual whales, but she also provided history and information on the critical role of whales in the oceans and the important role humans have in preserving their habitat. I wish every person could see these magnificent animals in their natural habitat. Thank you Katie and Jasper (our Captain).

Plenty of sea life and up close viewing!

Layer up as it was chilly -but worth it. Liam and Ryan were helpful, knowledgeable and informative. We were fortunate that a humpback swam very close to the boat and surfaced. In addition to humpbacks we saw sea lions, a shoal of krill and sea birds. A really good trip.
