BE READY 15 MINUTES BEFORE TOUR START FOR PICKUP. We do not automatically stop at all hotels, please call our office prior if you do not recall your pickup location chosen. Empress guests, please meet out front hotel entrance near door man. NOT ON STREET, NOT BUS AREA. Our first departure point is the Hotel Grand Pacific. You must be ready 15 minutes prior to departure time at all pickup locations. CRUISE SHIP GUESTS. SURF MOTEL Walk outside terminal to street. Turn right. Down the street on left is little motel: Surf Motel. We will meet here. Please do not inquire at this motel they will have no information. Must be here 15 minutes prior to departure time. This is a scheduled tour. We depart promptly on time.

It’s a very good way to see the city when you don’t have a lot of time. The guide (Tyco) informs you about stuff you wouldn’t otherwise know. He was very knowledgeable and good humored. The Gardens are well worth going to.

Our tour guide Mark drove us around Victoria for about an hour before heading to the gardens. He enthusiastically shared all kinds of local information with us about craigdarroch castle, beacon hill park, fisherman’s wharf, local monuments and neighborhoods, etc etc. you could tell he really loves showing off Victoria to visitors. He secured our entry into the gardens, shared some quick pointers on the best way to see everything, and gave us a little less than 2 hours to see everything which was the perfect length of time. He then drove us back to downtown Victoria, providing additional commentary on the return trip.
Can’t imagine a better way to spend an afternoon.

Bring water and wear comfortable shoes. This tour is very worth it! Our tour guide, Mark, was so knowledgeable and entertaining. We had such a great time!

The driver/guide for the city tour part of the combo city tour, and Butchart Gardens admission was a nice guy, but didn’t seem to have the history of the city like our previous tour guide, on a pedi- cab, had. But the local manager of the Island City tour company (I think that’s the name), Colleen, was very difficult to deal with. We had a last-minute change, the day before, for two of our party. They couldn’t stay for the entire 4 to 5 hour combination tour and wanted to go to Butchart Gardens separately. But Colleen would not give them their tickets to the gardens, which we had already paid for, so they had to purchase the $80 plus tickets separately. They provided their own transportation to and from the Gardens, and had to meet their ferry much earlier than they had anticipated.
Also, our repeated communications on Saturday evening by phone, email, and text were not responded to until 9 am Sunday, the day of the tour.
We have had very good experiences with Viator in the past, and we’re surprised at how rigid this local tour company, associated with Viator was.
We weren’t asking for a refund only that we have access to the tickets that we had already paid for.

A brief factual summary from our side:
• Your first email (Stacie perhaps your friend?) arrived during business hours and we replied within 45 minutes. Subsequent messages began at 7:22 PM (after our office had closed); we responded promptly at the start of business the following morning before office hours actually.
• The 10:00 combo departs with the city tour first. To work within that schedule and The Gardens’ ticketing procedures we offered two practical options: (1) remain with the tour and disembark at our last stop of City tour when we arrived; or (2) travel with us to the Gardens and then return by taxi at the time that suited you.
• We cannot provide individual Gardens tickets in advance. The Gardens issues admission to our driver on arrival via their funnel/passage system, so pre‑issued separate tickets are not available. You would have witnessed this procedure on your arrival if with our tour.
Your arrangement requested less than 45 minutes before departure was therefore incompatible with the Gardens’ procedures and our tour timeline.
• Regarding the guide: while we’re sorry this experience did not meet your expectations, we have received many positive feedback emails/texts/calls raving about his tours and overall delivery, same day same guide.
We were also unaware that two people would not be joining us until our driver arrived to pick you up. That was never communicated to us..

Quick tour of city before gardens would be better at beginning of week in Victoria. We had already done horse drawn carriage thru town.

Our tour guide was Mark. He showed us all around San Fransisco and had so much info to give us. Our tour took us to the Butchart Gardens, which was so beautiful and amazing. We also stopped in Sausalito for lunch or shopping. I would recommend this excursion 10/10

Fabulous tour! Our tour guide, Tyco was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made the tour so interesting and fun. We learned about the history, architecture and geology of the region. Butchart Gardens is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. This is a must do/see tour if you’re visiting the area!

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and had great stories. Very informative and he provided great advice to see Butchart garden in the time allotted, even allowing time for very good Gelato. The tour was good, but I was hoping we’d get to jump out of the van at most locations just for a few quick pics and this only happened at 2 spots unfortunately. Overall a good tour and I do recommend it if you want an overview of the sites and history, along with a comfortable ride to Butchart gardens.
