Our tour guide was very kind and informative. She was good at making sure everyone stuck together and was keeping up, as it was a very fast paced tour with so much to see. She also let us know to keep up to ensure we didn’t miss out on St. Peter’s Basilica since we had a late afternoon tour and it would be closing soon. She was very detailed and efficient at her job!

Exceptional experience!...
Exceptional experience! Go deeper than the catacombs into roman mausoleums and see St Peters tomb. Uneven ground with stairs and occasional low ceilings. We enjoyed our own walk around St Peters Basilica following, with amazing climb up to the view from the dome.

Vatican tour
Great tour- worth the heat to see the Sistine chapel and St.Peters Basilica. Wonderful art and history. Our guide informed us of all the highlights before we entered the chapel so we could point them out while in the room.

Francesca was a great guide. She managed to convey the deep history and wealth of artistry in the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s Basilica. It’s a long tour, though. Be prepared for lots of walking.

Vatican City
St. Peter's Basilica on a sunny day, Rome
  • Be prepared for security lines similar to those at airports, including metal detectors, bag scanners, and potentially long waits.

  • This is one of the most popular attractions in all of Italy, so crowds are nearly inevitable.

  • The Basilica of St. Peter has a strict dress code—no bare shoulders, midriffs, or knees—and you won't be allowed in unless you adhere to it.

  • A skip-the-line tour of the Vatican Museums that includes St. Peter's enables you to bypass the basilica's long entry lines; you still have to go through the security check.

  • Climbing the dome atop the Basilica to take in the fantastic views over St. Peter's Square, requires a ticket.
