My family had a wonderful time on the trolley tour of the Newport mansions. Our guide, Rob, was a wealth of knowledge as well as very friendly and witty. The sights were incredible and learning the history of the area was even more so. We got to tour inside of the Breakers mansion which was stunning. It's been beautifully preserved and restored. It was like stepping back in time and it was simply beautiful. This trolley tour is absolutely the way to get the most out of an afternoon in Newport!

This was a great choice. A top rated experience! It’s a huge cemetery and the golf cart on a warm and humid day is the way to go! The tour guide was great. Knowledgeable and entertaining. This was our first guided tour. We followed it with a walking / food tour ( tasting experience) . It was a perfect day. You won’t regret it.

Shell Island is a nice option if you’re getting bored with just going to the beach and want to do something a little different. Definitely bring cash! Otherwise, buying drinks from the bar can be inconvenient because they can only run cards back on shore, so you may need to leave your phone or ID with them. Seeing dolphins is not guaranteed, although we were lucky and saw a family of them. I just wish we had spent more time with the dolphins because that was definitely the most exciting part. The ocean was quite wavy and dark blue, so it was actually difficult to see them unless you have very good vision. The water was wonderfully warm, which I really enjoyed. The fish weren’t particularly exciting, but it was still nice to experience a little bit of wildlife. If you swim a little farther from the boat along the rocks, keep your eyes open—we saw a really beautiful, bright blue fish there! Overall, it was a pleasant experience and something different to do, but personally, I probably wouldn’t do it again.
