It was easy finding the meetup spot for our driver, who was very knowledgable and basically gave us a narrated tour as we were driving to the dock. We had Captain Denise who was SPECTACULAR and the naturalist (I forgot her name) was super friendly and taught us a lot. The boat is covered with really comfy seats and a heater so we were comfortable with the 35 min ride to and from the whale hot spot area. Then we spent time on the front and back of the ship. We were insanely lucky and spotted a brown bear on the beach, and then about 15 whales making dives for about an hour. One pod of 3 whales came within 300 yards of the boat (hard to tell exact distance but basically closer than I thought I’d ever get to see a whale). This was NOT normal, so don’t expect to see this many whales, but Captain Denise is incredibly experienced and talented at tracking and finding the whales period. She also graciously shared some stories from her people, and got permission from other tribes to share some stories too. Highly highly recommend this experience.

We had an Amazing experience!! The captain and his crew were great. The cruise was very enjoyable. We saw beautiful display of dolphins on the Sunset Dolphin Cruise. If you are looking for something relaxing and enjoyable this cruise is definitely a winner. Shout out to the crew! Susan R

Every year we take this same tour, now that should say something! This tour, along with the company who runs it, is top notch F-U-N & fabulous! The crew is knowledgeable about the marine life, friendly and caring. They make sure every member of the tour gets to see (and maybe touch) the findings dredged up from the depths! It's a marine learning class with hands on involvement! Perfect for ALL AGES! Do NOT wait, BUY your tickets early, this tour is VERY POPULAR and sells out quick! We've learned this from experience!

The tour with San Juan Safaris was fantastic, Brian and the staff was amazing—friendly, professional, and made the entire experience enjoyable. My only disappointment was with the information provided by Viator. There should be much clearer communication about the Washington State ferry system, especially for travelers coming from far away. Many customers may not realize that vehicle reservations are strongly recommended and should be booked well in advance. I believe the following information should be clearly displayed on the Viator booking page: Ferries often run late and are occasionally canceled, so please plan to arrive on a ferry that reaches the island at least two hours before your tour departure. Vehicle reservations are strongly recommended for this route and should be made in advance. Walk-on passengers do not need reservations. Including this information on the Viator page would help customers better prepare for their trip, reduce unnecessary stress, and make the overall experience even better.

It was raining at the beginning of our dolphin cruise, but the captain and crew reassured us the weather was passing quickly. We began the cruise, the rain eventually stopped and we had a great time! The captain and crew were really sweet and spotted plenty of dolphins making sure to point them out clearly to us. Amazing experience!

We had the absolute best time on this dolphin cruise. Everything is organized, starts promptly, and there’s plenty of space on the boat. We sat under the shaded area but there’s also spots in the front of the boat if you want to sit in the sun. We found several pods of dolphins when we were out and we stopped for plenty of time so we could see them.

It is so fun to be out discovering marine wildlife. We saw 3 types of Whales-minke, humpback and Finback. We saw multiple pods of dolphins and they jumped and swam by our boat. We saw pelicans, sea lions and other flocks of birds. Staff were awesome and pointed out wildlife. I’d go again and highly recommend trip.

We had a perfect experience with the crew of the quicksilver. Although very late in the season we were able to see mothers and their calfs thanks to the captain. Awesome experience. We are first timers in Hawaii and our dream to see the humpback whales came true. The crew of the quicksilver was knowledgeable and fantastic. We highly recommend this provider.
