What are people saying about Tokyo

Great introduction to Tokyo that fit us perfectly
My wife and I can’t say enough positive things about this tour and our entire experience. Shoma understood that we were looking to see as much as we could in eight hours while never feeling rushed. He was able to plan out an itinerary that included temples, markets, great food, pop culture, historical landmarks, and wonderful insight into Japanese society and history. We got to become pros on the subway and got a great initial orientation of the city. Shoma is such an easy going, kind, and insightful tour guide. It felt as if we were all just good friends hanging out and talking. Shoma really went out of his way to make sure we were getting the exact experience we were hoping for. We loved it all and would absolutely recommend him and the Goen Japan Team who communicated with us so well before the trip to make sure the preparations were perfect:

We visited the Imperial...
We visited the Imperial Palace grounds hoping to get close to the palace. While that was not possible, our walking tour with Manny, our tour guide, more than made up for this lack. He was so knowledgeable as we walked the grounds and filled us in on the history of the shoguns. The palace grounds are beautiful and worth the tour.

Totally worth it!
Yusuke’s passion for food and travel really made this food tour special. The food at each stop was delicious and plentiful (especially the shashimi), the drinks were also very good with lots of options. Yusuke is also a specialist in Sake of which I now want to buy.
We had such a fun night and highly recommend!

Great tour, great guide.
Very enjoyable- the food was good and plentiful. We learned a lot, and saw a lot. May was our guide and consider yourself lucky if you end up on her tour. She communicated with us before the tour started, which was very helpful. She is personable, funny , and informative. Great guide , great tour. Just book it, you won’t regret it.

Great!
Hiroko was a fantastic guide for our tour! Start point was easy to find and it was great having a small group (12 max) in such a crowded attraction. This made the information easy to hear and simple to stay together. She gave us some great suggestions for things to do in the area following the tour also which was a bonus!

The best seafood we had in Tokyo!
We loved our Tsukiji tour with Hitomi! She was such a delight, very kind, funny and knowledgeable about the entire area. The food spots she chose were very tasty, we really liked all the street food stops as well as the restaurant. This is the perfect way to discover Tsukiji fish market and the surrounding temples! Thank you for the lovely day!

Intro to Tokyo with Tomo
Our tour with Tomo was a great way to start our trip - especially as first time visitors to Tokyo. We really enjoyed the walk with her as she explained many Japanese customs. It was just what we were looking for - an introduction to the city and culture - and the bonus of learning how to navigate the subway system!
She explained the difference between shrines and temples and we experienced entering each. She took pictures and sent them to us after the tour was over. Tomo was our first contact in this amazing city and we truly appreciate her time and all the detail that got packed into 3 hours!

Brilliant way to experience the market
Really perfect way to try so many different foods at top outlets at the market, as well as to learn a bit about the history of Tokyo. Nicolas was an excellent, super helpful and very knowledgeable guide! We got so much more out of this guided tour than we would have otherwise. A definite highlight of our Tokyo trip.

Just me and my guides!
This was a great way to see may areas of Tokyo that are often overlooked. The guide was helpful riding in tokyo was surprisingly easy. I’ve biked in many cities and can say that it felt safe and allowed me to explore tons of sites in a short amount of time. Highly recommend and can easily be accessed by all biking skill levels!

This was a very good tour...
This was a very good tour which gave us a good introduction into the Shinjuku area, in fact it came in especially useful when we needed something that we had forgotten, our guide had showed us a store called Don Kiote, a store that has everything. Without this prior knowledge we would have struggled to find what we needed, worth the trip.

We had an absolutely...
We had an absolutely wonderful tour with our guide, Sachi-san. We began by walking through the temple, where Sachi-san shared interesting history and even taught us how to properly pray in a Buddhist temple. Afterward, we explored the lively Tsukiji open market, trying a variety of delicious foods and snacks while learning so much about Japanese cooking and ingredients. We then visited a Shinto Shrine, where Sachi-san explained the basics of Shinto religion and showed us how to participate in traditional prayer. To finish the tour, she kindly gave us adorable origami figures as a special memento.
The sushi workshop was a fantastic experience! The sushi master demonstrated how to properly fillet a large fish, which was cool to watch. During the workshop, we got hands-on and learned how to mold the rice and prepare several different types of sushi—then enjoyed eating everything we made. The class was easy to follow, the sushi was delicious, and we had a great time. As a special touch, we even received two sets of chopsticks as a gift when we mentioned it was our honeymoon. Highly recommended!
