Naoya was a wonderful guide! He was knowledgeable and very kind, taking extra care to answer all of our questions and take photos of us at all the scenic spots in Shinjuku. Would definitely recommend!

We have done many walking tours in different cities and every time we learn something new about the history and the neighborhoods, this one was disappointing , the details about the area were not approrpirate and the stops ( a spa? And a gorilla exhibition in a hotel) not what we would have thought would be relevant stops on a tour of Shinjuku!

Thank you for your reservation. We did our best for the hour, but, unfortunately, you left with this impression. First, Shinjuku is a very large area, and we struggled to convey as much cultural diversity as possible in a short one-hour tour. Did you have a look at the contents of this one-hour tour beforehand? The Godzilla head at the hotel is a very popular attraction in Shinjuku. It's even featured on the cover of this tour. We also took you to shrines and Golden Gai. We taught you the proper etiquette for visiting shrines and visited them together. We also mentioned that Kabukicho is a red light district, but when we asked if it was okay, you replied that there was no problem. We also discussed the hot springs and how they are directly linked to the shy Japanese national character. Unfortunately, this review is based on only a small portion of the tour. Many customers have highly rated this tour. We will continue to improve where possible to make it even better.

Absolutely brilliant tour guide. I thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour and all the history of the areas. My favorite was definitely Godzilla and Golden Gai. Highly recommend.

Efficient visit to the variety and history of Shinjuku, especially post-WWII and the current landscape. Terry was a great guide, adapting to the size of the group (mine was small) to give a distinct experience for the tour. I have been to Japan and Tokyo before, and even on a Shinjuku tour that was excellent, but this added to my knowledge and experience.

Our guide Terry did a great job on our night walking tour of Shinjuku. He’s very friendly and knowledgeable and took us to many local scenes. Shinjuku at night gives off such a great vibe. This is a must do tour if you don’t have a lot of free time but still want to soak up the local atmosphere.

tha guide never showed up. vwey unprofessional. we always use Viator, this never happened before. we waited for more than half an hour and we left.

My husband and I did a walking tour with Shimmy around the Shinjuku area. He was very knowledgeable of the area. He took us to the Temple where we learned to pray, which was helpful in another tour we took the next day to a different Temple. There was a festival going on during this time and it was quite busy. But, we loved seeing so many different foods that were available, much like an event held in the States. We went to the Kabukicho Tower where we walked through the food court and then up to the 17th floor observation window. Shimmy also took us through some of the "back" alleys where we were able to see some of the more intimate bars that only allowed for seating of 6-8 people. We loved this tour. Would highly recommend. An hour isn't long enough for the hustle and bustle of this area, but it was just enough for a quick overview. Thank you, Shimmy!

Thank you terry for a great whistle stop tour of Shinjuku. It was pouring rain for the full hour but Terry still remained positive and upbeat. Having a short trip like this is a good idea to get an understanding of the area. Would recommend.

It was very cold and we waited for the guide that did not show up. We got a ‘sorry’ reply and not informed beforehand that guide was not going to make it. So time was spent waiting and trying to contact operator instead of walking around. It was refunded by Viator.
