We did this sushi-making experience as a family and it was absolutely incredible from start to finish! The instructor was so engaging and made everything easy to follow, even for beginners. The ingredients were fresh and high-quality, and we loved learning the step-by-step process of making our own sushi. What made it extra special were all the thoughtful details—they had kimonos for us to dress up in, which made it so fun and unique, and they took the cutest photos of our family and each of us individually. It turned into such a memorable experience, not just a class. We left with full stomachs, great memories, and adorable pictures to remember it by. Highly recommend this for families or anyone looking for a fun, interactive, and unique activity!

What an excellent experience. Yukka was so kind and friendly. Her directions to find the class were very helpful. We learned a bit about mochi history as well as when mochi is traditionally eaten. We watched her make the mochi and then prepared three kinds ourselves. She prepared savory mochi for us. We also tried warabi-mochi with brown sugar syrup. Everything was excellent. 10/10 excellent experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We absolutely loved YUCa’s cooking class and it may well end up being our favourite experience from our entire Japan trip. Yuca’s studio kitchen is beautifully set up — intimate, welcoming and clearly designed with love. Our class of six felt just the right size, and Yuca and her husband were both incredibly warm, hospitable and knowledgeable. The ramen and gyoza we made were genuinely delicious, and we left feeling confident enough to recreate them at home. We were travelling with our nine month old son and Yuca was wonderfully welcoming of him from the moment we arrived. She was happy for us to bring his pram up the stairs so he could sit comfortably during the class, and she even made him his own little onigiri for lunch — such a sweet and thoughtful gesture that completely melted our hearts. It’s about an hour from Shinjuku but don’t let that put you off — it is absolutely worth every minute of the commute. And when you arrive, Yuca provides a sheet of local recommendations for sightseeing, cultural experiences and food nearby, which is such a thoughtful touch. We followed her suggestions and spent the afternoon at Yanaka Ginza and Ueno Park — a perfect way to round out the day and explore a part of Tokyo most tourists never see. Don’t hesitate, just book it. The experience, the food, the hospitality and the local knowledge Yuca shares make it exceptional value and a truly memorable way to connect with Japanese culture. This was a wonderful experience, not only did we get to learn about making ramen and dumplings, but we learned about the history of the dishes. I can't say enough good things about this experience. I highly recommend you take advantage of this authentic opportunity during your visit. We had our daughter with us, and we were all able to participate and make our own ramen and dumplings. We can't wait to make them at home now! Thank you!

I could not recommend this experience more! From the minute we walked in the door tk the minute we left, the team here went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, comfortable, and informed. Our two instructors were amazing going over the different types of ramen and sushi and the work that goes into preparing both. And of course, the food was delicious! This was the nicest group of people I have ever met and you would not regret this experience.

I am someone who did not eat sushi but after this class I do. The chef is really good and his skills are admirable. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. The host is also very knowledgeable and English speaking, he translate for the chef. The staff was very helpful and I had one laughing because I put too much wasabi on one of mines and I swear my eyes popped out my head but I could breath better lol. I was a little nervous about eating raw fish but it was delicious. Definitely will do again when I go back with a group.

I had such a great experience with this cooking class in Tokyo. I left the class feeling genuinely confident and excited to try making Japanese dishes again once I got home. It was both educational and empowering, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a hands-on, thoughtful introduction to Japanese cooking.

We had an absolutely wonderful tour with our guide, Sachi-san. We began by walking through the temple, where Sachi-san shared interesting history and even taught us how to properly pray in a Buddhist temple. Afterward, we explored the lively Tsukiji open market, trying a variety of delicious foods and snacks while learning so much about Japanese cooking and ingredients. We then visited a Shinto Shrine, where Sachi-san explained the basics of Shinto religion and showed us how to participate in traditional prayer. To finish the tour, she kindly gave us adorable origami figures as a special memento. The sushi workshop was a fantastic experience! The sushi master demonstrated how to properly fillet a large fish, which was cool to watch. During the workshop, we got hands-on and learned how to mold the rice and prepare several different types of sushi—then enjoyed eating everything we made. The class was easy to follow, the sushi was delicious, and we had a great time. As a special touch, we even received two sets of chopsticks as a gift when we mentioned it was our honeymoon. Highly recommended!
