What are people saying about Sintra

3 weeks in Portugal
Great tour and tour guide, John.! Truly a small group of 6 people. The tour is actually 5 hours from pick-up to drop-off. It’s a workout walking uphill from the van to the palaces, but it’s worth it. I recorded 13,000 steps just from the tour. Both palaces are lovely, and the town of Sintra has cute shops and restaurants. We walked through Regaleira Palace which had beautiful grounds. For Pena Palace we walked through the tiers, turrets, chapel and grounds, but did not go inside the palace due to the long queue. I didn’t miss it. The views are amazing. Our tour guide also gave each of us the option at the end of the tour of being dropped off in the town, at another castle, or at the original meeting point.

Locals perspective
We were able to see Sintra with a locals perspective. We got the history of the city and monuments in addition to an art history lesson. He took us to a cafe overlooking the ocean. A locals hideaway for a rest and some drinks and desert. We finished the day with a drive down the coast. An amazing day with intellectual discussion about history and Portugal.

Great Day In Sintra!
What a great day touring Sintra. And how fun to do it in a cute little red convertible jeep. Diaogo was an amazing quide and really gave us incredible information as we toured. We made several stops for photos and views. And he even gave us a small gift. Great way to see Sintra. We opted to not go into the palace or tour the grounds but if that’s your thing I would go super early. There is still plenty of walking on this tour but you can personalize your tour.
Thanks Diaogo!

The Ultimate Portuguese Day Trip—Bruno is the Absolute Best!
If you are looking for an unforgettable private tour from Lisbon to Sintra and Cascais, you absolutely must book with Bruno. From the moment the day started, his friendly personality and wonderful sense of humor made us feel completely at ease. Bruno is an exceptional driver who prioritized our safety at every turn, while seamlessly guiding us through a beautifully planned itinerary that perfectly balanced major highlights with incredible secret spots only a local would know. It is clear that he cares deeply about his company and holds an immense pride for his country, which shone through in his insightful commentary. He went above and beyond to make our trip special as we celebrated my best friend's 40th birthday, even surprising her with a thoughtful bottle of wine at the end of the day. Bruno’s attentiveness, warmth, and dedication to his guests make him highly recommended for anyone wanting a perfect Portuguese adventure!

Historical tour of Sintra
Our guide Ruben was very engaged and helpful with helping us navigate our five family members through Sintra and the Pena Palace.
He was full of information on the history of Portugal and Sintra in particular. His enthusiasm was very much appreciated for keeping us engaged and informed.
He knew of many spots to take impactful photos. He assisted in taking many pictures of our family in breathtaking locations.
After our tour he dropped us off at a spot to continue on our own
It was a great experience and tour.

Our tour with Sofia was fantastic; she is passionate about her job and takes you along for the ride to discover Sintra and all the interesting and beautiful surprises that it delivers. She planned the tour so that we could avoid the crowds and organised lunch at a very secluded peaceful setting. 💯 recommend going on this tour with Sofia, you won't be disappointed.

My husband and I and...
My husband and I and another couple had a lovely tour of Sintra with Leo. He lived in the community and his pride and love for the area was obvious. Leo included a tour of some of the neighborhoods so we got a feel for living in the area and it wasn’t just a churches and monuments flyby. Great afternoon.

I recommend starting early in the Tesla with Francisco to avoid the crowds. He asked our interests so we had a customized itinerary with plenty of walking, gardens, delicious pastries and lunch, and a variety of palaces. A superb day trip from Lisbon! So gorgeous! Francisco is a safe and knowledgable drive and patient and enthusiastic with all of our questions. Very kind and mellow soul.

Private tour - Fabulous way to explore Porto.
Because of a dock workers strike our scheduled stop in Porto on our cruise was canceled. Unlike others on our cruise, we had a lot of time in Lisbon (using it as our home base) to explore outside Lisboa. With a few adjustments and searches online I decided to add a full day private tour from Lisbon to Porto. We wanted to enjoy quality time in Porto, not just a quick stop. We are so glad that we found Duca. What a top notch way to travel. Our assigned driver, Filipe was full of knowledge and pride for Portugal and of course Porto. We learned so much about Porto, way beyond its association with Port wine. We were together for 14 hours and saw much of Porto and Gaia, as we learned the roles each of those cities play in Port production. We ate a traditional lunch in one of Filipe’s favorite traditional restaurants. And we walked and walked. It was so thorough and enjoyable. Thank you!
