This was such an adventure and I highly recommend it. My husband and I did this excursion and wasn't exactly sure what to expect. We are older (59 & 62) and were a little concerned about whether we'd be able to participate fully. Hiking through the rainforest was strenuous and a bit shaky at times but our operator, Nick, made a world of difference. He advised and instructed us on so many things that were helpful to gain a full experience and stay safe. Bring a pair of socks, preferably with thick soles. In certain areas, they help grip the slippery rocks. We wore water shoes which were fine but you can also wear sneakers as long as you don't mind them being submerged in the murky water. Nick took great photos of each person and shared them after the journey which was so helpful given it was difficult to stay focused and capture pictures of our own. There is no way one can experience this safely without a tour guide and Nick was by far the best. He clearly explained what was going to take place during the ride there and did a recap right before we arrived. I would not recommend bringing a lot of items. You will most likely not need them. If you want to bring a towel for drying, that is fine but it's not a must. We did the 10 o'clock excursion and were back by 3pm.

Should be somewhat in shape, as hiking down a trail with lots of rocks and boulders and being I was older, I needed to look down most of the trail and a stream at the end was to cold for me. Also hiked up the tower which had 100 steps for the view which was beautiful. Guess a person could take their time. The tour guide was very nice and informative.

Coralys and Rafy made the experience incredible! Coralys was knowledgeable during the OSJ tour, and showed us a lot of great, historic spots. We stopped at T-Mobile district to grab a light bite and use the restroom, had around 20-30 minutes. The bus ride to El Yunque was a vibe, and once there it was a moderate hike down to the first waterslide. Be warned, the rocks are slippery!! I recommend bringing some very sturdy hiking shoes, and also recommend bringing some form of grippy sock, as you must take your shoes OFF to experience the waterslide. A lot of fun, even during a rainstorm. The water was perfect, and the waterslides were a lot of fun. As a plus sized person, I was definitely a bit tired out by the end but that was also because I did every jump and slide. Can easily sit out on one or both of the slides, they are not required. After hiking back up to the bus, we headed to El Kioskos del Luquillo. We had 2 hours to explore the Kioskos and chill by the beach. This is the time to change into your swimsuit if you brought one, or change into a change of dry clothes! They don’t tell you to bring a change, but I recommend it. Highly recommend Edelweiss Bar & Grill for some delicious authentic PR cuisine (get the coconut rice, it was DELICIOSO!) As a solo traveler, I was able to make some friends during the excursion and everyone in my group was kind and talkative! Definitely recommend!! Great value for all that you get.
