Edward our tour guides was very informative about the history of the island. He is down to earth and funny. The views of the cave, forest and rivers were spectacular. I would recommend it to anyone who ready for a cute little adventure.

Lots of climbing so make sure your knees are in decent condition. lol! Shmuel was an amazing tour guide! He shared a lot of history and fun facts the entire time. I would definitely recommend him. I am 52 and my son is 12 and we both enjoyed ourselves.

We had an incredible experience on the Charco Azul cave, waterfall, and river adventure from San Juan — easily one of the highlights of our Puerto Rico trip.
The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, from the lush hike to the crystal-clear blue pools and waterfall. It felt like a true hidden gem and a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.
What really made this experience stand out was our guide, Fabiola. She was outstanding — knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about what she does. She made everyone feel safe and comfortable while keeping the entire experience fun and engaging. Her energy, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile (including helping with photos and guiding us through tricky spots) truly made the trip worthwhile.
Highly recommend this tour — and if you get Fabiola as your guide, you’re in the best hands!

Great tour to see some unique limestone caves, bats and jump off some cliffs. Edwin and his nephew were great guides.

This trip is magnificent. Jean(John) was incredible. He went above and beyond. We had no idea that this would be such an adventurous trip with cliff jumping and swimming through the cave but he made it possible for me. It was the highlight of our vacation. Make sure you are ready to get wet and have a waterproof bag!

Fun, refreshing hike and swim. Beautiful cave, bats, and no bugs! Short ride from San Juan. Would highly recommend!

Soooo cool, did a lot of fun things, and the tour guide too so many good pictures!! And he is very nice and energetic too!! I can’t swim so was wearing a life jacket, if you can swim I think it’ll be a lot more fun!!

If I could give this tour 10 stars I would. Roy is great and my family had a blast. The entire experience was beautiful and something we will never forget. Thanks Roy!

Perfect tour with John! Very kid friendly. Everything was great. But be moderately physically fit and bring a change of clothes.
Richard_L, Apr 2026
There was not enough information provided in the description of this tour. The correct footwear was critical - but not mentioned. Bring sneakers that can get wet or water shoes. It is a risky outing climbing on rocks in and out of the water. The slightest slip would have been disastrous. The tour guide Edgar also didn't provide much information. The water and 'snack' were an afterthought - don't count on them; bring your own.

Had a fantastic time doing this excursion with my family! While I am a strong swimmer, I still strongly recommend using a life vest. This is a very physical activity that requires a lot of walking uphill and climbing, so keep that in mind. Definitely get a protective case for phone, wear sneakers that can get wet, as you'll keep them on during the swim. Bring extra clothes and a towel you will leave them in the guide's car—you won't need to carry anything. There are bathrooms available to change afterward. Our guide was amazing and funny. Highly recommend!"

Great time hiking in the jungle! Saw cute bats in the cave and petroglyphs on the walls, swam down the river, and even did some cliff jumping into the river. Shmuel and Fabiola were both excellent tour guides and Fabiola taught us all about Puerto Rican history and culture too! 🫶 Would recommend!

Our guides, Alexis and Hazel were fantastic. They were incredibly knowledgeable, accommodating and went at our pace. They made this an unforgettable experience for our family and friends. This was a fantastic day and a real slice of Puerto Rico. Definitely recommend.
A few things to note — it had rained the week before we went, so the trail was a bit slippery and muddy. We took it slow and Alexis knew exactly how to guide us - what to hold on to and where to step. The first way into the water involves about a 6 foot jump. All other jumps are optional. Wear water shoes, bring a towel.
10/10 recommend!

We had an awesome day! Loved the experience and hanging out with sarah, she was funny, and knowledgeable. We were picked up in San Juan and drove about an hour to the river. There was a bathroom there that you could use before and to change after the excursion if you wanted. It was crowded after and there was a line waiting to use the one bathroom. We did wear tennis shoes or water shoes and I’m thankful we did. The rocks are always going to be wet and slippery. We wore life jackets, which was nice because there were a few places where you had to swim a bit without being able to touch the ground. We did not wear helmets and didn’t feel like we needed too. We jumped off rocks and swam through rivers and caves that were so cool. We are a family that hikes a lot, but I think anyone in moderate shape could do it. The hiking isn’t hard, just a bit of climbing over rocks. We had our three teenage kids and they had a blast. It was adventurous enough to keep them entertained but not so adventurous that mom and dad couldn’t do it with them. Well worth the money and time spent!!

Had a blast going down the river, exploring caves, and jumping off cliffs, 6 ft, 12 ft, then 25 ft. Definitely wear water shoes or old sneakers to wear while navigating under water rocks not seen from surface of river. Bring dry change of clothes that can be left in guide’s vehicle while exploring.

We had SO much fun!! We loved our guide Roy - he was so kind, made sure we all felt safe throughout the day, and took great pictures that we’ll be able to share. It really was such a beautiful day, a highlight for us on our honeymoon.

Amazing hike along and through the river. Caves, jumps, waterfalls, honestly even better than I thought it would be. Guide Alexis was amazing and filled with local knowledge. Definitely strenuous and not for faint of heart, but was just the adventure we were looking for!

Super fun, beautiful location. So nice to get away from touristy areas and see a different part of PR. Jean was so dedicated to the tour that he swam in his nice suit!
Jessica_H, Mar 2026
100% authentic. This is not a huge commercial outfit. This is a family business that is very hospitable and passionate about sharing the beautiful rainforest, river, and waterfall with you. Be prepared for a real hike/climb/jump/swim experience. This is not the easiest tour, but if you're physically up to it, and open to a "local" experience you'll have a great time! Proper shoes are a must.

Our guide Edward was amazing! He kept everyone entertained on the long drive and was extremely personable!! I loved how our group of 7 all got to ride together. The waterfall and cave walking was great and all the kids had an absolute blast cave/cliff jumping! This trip was more strenuous than I thought would be, but totally worth it. There were also people above 60 climbing these steep hills, rocks, and cliff jumping. Edward also took truly amazing pictures which he shared with us! At the end when it is hot, they give you a sweet treat! His daughter Cashe shared informative information about the wild life with us! We were visiting some locals from PR and they really enjoyed excursion as well! 5 star experience!

Edwin was great. Incredibly knowledgeable!! We loved exploring the caves and learning about the local botany.

Edward T. And his daughter were great tour guides that provide lots of education about the native lands and culture. Also took amazing pictures and were very patient and kind.

One with nature. Bring a bathing suit. Towel and waterproof case for phone or camera if you plan to take pictures.
Shannon_K, Mar 2026
Great tour, really cool to swim in the river thru the caves. Sarah was a great guide, making sure we were careful and having fun.
Be sure to wear water shoes or tennis shoes. You definitely need something with a back. And a waterproof phone case. Everything will get wet!

This adventure is physically challenging. Our guide, Airam, provided us with a safe and memorable experience.

We did the Charco Azul trip with our family—two parents in our 40s and our kids (13 and 11). Right off the bat we were delighted to discover the tour was just our group. I know that’s not always the case, but we felt incredibly lucky.
Our guide, Kashe, was amazing from the start. She even stopped at Walmart so we could buy water shoes for our son after realizing his had been left at home. Throughout the trip she clearly explained what was coming next and made sure we always felt safe and knew exactly what to do.
We started with a short hike to a couple of caves. One of them you actually swim through, which was such a cool experience. The water was chilly and my 11-year-old started shivering, so we found a sunny spot for him to warm up while the rest of us did the 10-foot cliff jump.
After that we headed to the river. All four of us did the 6-foot jump, we also tried the 13-foot jump, and my husband even went for the 25-footer.
Kashe was incredibly attentive to our needs the whole time. One of my kids is neurodivergent and struggles with loud noise, and she thoughtfully asked the driver taking us up the hill to turn down his music (Puerto Rico loves its loud music!).
Since we had a little extra time at the end, she also stopped at a local bakery that was absolutely delicious.
This was one of the highlights of our entire week in Puerto Rico. I can’t recommend this experience enough.

This excursion had beautiful scenery, challenging at times and very informative. Team Edward ( group of 3), showed us a lot, allow us to swim, go in caves, see bats, go behind waterfalls and do multiple location cliff jumping if you wanted. They always made sure you were safe and gave a lot of encouragement to people who wanted to try cliff jumping. Highly recommend this excursion. Just be prepared to hike some steep areas, over logs and rocks and a long the side of the cliffs.

Such an amazing experience!! Our tour guide Hazael was the best as well! Totally recommend if you’re visiting San Juan!

The tour guide was the best. Never once did I feel unsafe or unaware of what we were doing. He was very knowledgeable about everything around us. I will be recommending the experience to everyone!!
