Great time hiking in the jungle! Saw cute bats in the cave and petroglyphs on the walls, swam down the river, and even did some cliff jumping into the river. Shmuel and Fabiola were both excellent tour guides and Fabiola taught us all about Puerto Rican history and culture too! 🫶 Would recommend!

Great mix of scenery, history and hiking. Make sure you have waterproof shoes and you’re ready to scale some rocks and maneuver around some beautiful waterfalls. I loved being able to leave my phone in the car and have all the moments captured for me…what a huge bonus

We had an incredible experience on the Charco Azul cave, waterfall, and river adventure from San Juan — easily one of the highlights of our Puerto Rico trip. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, from the lush hike to the crystal-clear blue pools and waterfall. It felt like a true hidden gem and a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. What really made this experience stand out was our guide, Fabiola. She was outstanding — knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about what she does. She made everyone feel safe and comfortable while keeping the entire experience fun and engaging. Her energy, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile (including helping with photos and guiding us through tricky spots) truly made the trip worthwhile. Highly recommend this tour — and if you get Fabiola as your guide, you’re in the best hands!

Wonderful experience today . Our guide Alexis was brilliant , he made the day so great explaining the nature around us. Alexis bought us cakes when we finished which we took to his grandmas house who made us coffee ! The whole area is worth a visit . My husband and I have lovely memories to take back to London with us .

Best trip ever! Ask for Alexis!

Amazing experience from start to finish. Alexis was our guide and he gave us a spectacular small group tour. This is a must do in Puerto Rico. The falls and hike were amazing (bring water shoes!) we jumped off cliffs and swam through caves. Everyone was so nice. Alexis gave us a scenic ride back and we stopped at a delicious local bakery and got quesitos and flan, then we got authentic cafe con leche and limber. All around best excursion

    Jungle Trekking in San Juan!

Sarah was great! Very informative guide and lots of fun. Definitely works some muscles on the hike, so it burned off all the drinks and food from the night before.

    Great excursion

    Highly recommend!

Edward was awesome. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and clearly knows about and cares a great deal about this land. He was funny and kept our crew on track through the caves. Super fun, thank you :)

    Alexis is great!

Alexis was the best tour guide I’ve ever had. Took good care of us when adding his “personal touch” to the experience. 10/10! Thank you Alexis!

Our guide was incredible! He was very attentive to my hesitant 10 year old and by the end of our day, she was jumping off cliffs! What a great experience.

    Best adventure yet!

Roy was knowledgeable, personal and all around awesome! He made sure to make everything as smooth and exhilarating as possible! Would 1000% recommend!

    A highlight of my life!

    Shannon_R, May 2026
This tour was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Alexis went far above and beyond as a guide — from the car ride to the hike, he shared so much about Puerto Rico’s history, plants, wildlife, and culture with genuine passion and humor. You could tell how much he loves sharing his home and adventure with others. He even picked plants to show us unique flora, pointed out insects along the trail, bought us pastries from his favorite local spot afterward, and offered to take us for authentic mofongo at his favorite food truck. The hike is moderate, so definitely wear water shoes with good traction. There is one required ~8-foot cliff jump to enter the river section, but it was much less scary than it sounds and actually really fun. The remaining jumps are optional, and you can instead hike or float through the river. An unforgettable experience and easily one of the highlights of our trip!

    10/10 Recommend! A wonderful tour!

We loved this tour! Edwin is an incredible guide, was a fun excursion, and we will definitely book future tours when we visit Puerto Rico with them!

Waterfall Tour John is the man

    Cari_G, May 2026
John gave us the tour of a lifetime. He was kind, patient, and incredibly informative from start to finish. He went above and beyond to include fun, unique touches that made the entire day feel special and memorable. We’ve been on many excursions, but this one truly stands out above the rest. If you have the chance, be sure to request John !!!

    Incredible experience!

    Mandi_E, May 2026
Jean truly made our tour a fantastic, safe, and fun adventure. He was well knowledgeable about the river, the surrounding nature, local petroglyphs, snack choices, bad bunny’s house, and conspiracy theories ;) The tour itself is considered intermediate and the basic requirements are being able to swim and climb up rocks. Highly recommend water shoes to help safely move in the river. You do need to be somewhat athletic and adventurous to full enjoy the tour.

    Amazing experience!

    Brenda_S, May 2026
This was such a unique activity. Never done anything like it. We hiked along the forest and into the water where we could stand under the waterfall. Then swam through some caves which was an amazing experience. There was a bit of walking uphill so be prepared for some exercise. The guide Shmuel was fantastic, he pointed out the different tree types and insects along the way. He also made sure we were safe and we left the water when it seemed like a storm was coming. We had such a great time!

We absolutely loved this tour. John was our tour guide and he made sure we all knew the rules and ways to stay safe. He stayed ahead of us to ensure the water was safe because there was a downpour the night before . He made sure to let us know he was proud of us for taking the big jumps and being brave. We learned lots of new facts and overall had so much fun. We wish we could do it again already, specifically with John lol😅

    Amazing !

we had an absolute BLAST! Alexis was THE best tour guide for this excursion !! 10/10 would recommend a million times! can’t wait to visit again ❤️❤️❤️

This was the best thing we had done! The tour guide was the best. We learned so much about the land and got to explore caves waterfalls and my son got to cliff jump.

    Take Me to the River

    Kristina_S, Apr 2026
Totally recommend doing this tour. Our tour guide was a very affable young man, and he added a personal touch by showing us his family's houses and how the street was named after the family's surname. He also told us that he and Bad Bunny grew up in the same town, which we drove through, and that the Lamborghini we drove past was very likely Bad Bunny's mother's! You start off your river tour right away with a jump into the river, which was great. I forgot to plug my nose, so that was problematic, but I recovered. So either plug your nose or breathe out through your nose just before you hit (I know this, yet just plain forgot). The floating in the caves was so relaxing and the water was a perfect temp. You then get another jump, which was a little higher, but doable. I'm 55 and did it just fine. We got painted with red clay, so we looked like we had been attacked in our pictures, but I like that sort of thing. Much more memorable. The terrain is a bit rough, so when they say you need to be in good shape, they're not kidding. By the end, we got about 20-25 minutes to float around in the last cave area, which was really nice. I can swim, but totally recommend the life jacket. It makes the floating much nicer. Our guide told us about the local flora and fauna as we walked down to the river. I would wear your swimsuit and swim shoes or water-proof, closed-toed sandals there, then bring a towel and change of clothes for the ride home. We were mostly in shade so you don't need sunscreen (which pollutes the water anyway). **There is parking across from the Juice Bar meeting place. The AC Hotel right across the street is open to public parking. You pay for it, but we couldn't find any openings anywhere else, so this was a lifesaver. If you want to take pictures, bring a waterproof case for your phone, or put it in one of those waterproof, floating bags (or do both). We had a Skog Å Kust DrySak. Another member on the tour had a waterproof go-pro, which seemed to work well.

    Don't skip this opportunity!

This is probably one of the most memorable experiences of my whole life! Roy was our tour guide and he was knowledgeable and fun, he always made us feel safe. The day started with him picking us up in a van in San Juan. He then drove us about 30 minutes away to the caves, telling us some history and stories along the way. The parking area at the caves was at someone's house which I thought was cool. We left all of our belongings in Roy's van. Typically you have to walk a little ways down a very steep road but his friend was getting ready to drive down in his truck and let us all pile in so he could drive us instead (this part reminded me very much of when I was a kid lol) Once there, the tour started right away. We walked through the forest on some very skinny trails with uneven terrain so be prepared. It's not difficult, just be cautious. Then we arrived at the entry part to the caves & water. There was the option to jump in from a cliff or you could walk a very skinny trail (you need to hold on to a rope) to enter the water in a calmer way than jumping off the cliff. Once in the water, we headed into the caves. The water was very deep but we all had life jackets on. Even if you can't swim, you're safe. We slowly made our way through the caves while Roy taught us so much about them. We swam through a water fall then did a bit of steep climbing over rocks and logs. I'm pretty out of shape and thought I wouldn't be able to make it up some of the areas but Roy helped by grabbing my life jacket or offering his hand as a grab point. It was so helpful. Once done there, we headed down the "creek" area which was gorgeous and calm. You had the option to stay there and lounge, or climb up some cliffs to do some cliff jumping. Jumping from the cliff was terrifying but I'd 100% recommend it! For the last part, we swam through a few more caves and just hung out. It truly was the coolest day! Then the next part happened... The climb back up the very steep road that we originally came down. Shew. While in the creek area there was a gentleman with an old truck who offers rides back up the hill for $5 per person. I didn't take the truck and I quickly regretted it lol. You have to be in pretty good shape to tolerate the steep hill. Once back to the van we sat and cooled off for a few minutes then piled back into the van to head back to San Juan. On the way back, Roy bought us some pastries from a local shop which was so nice and unexpected. All in all this day was a 10/10 and it truly felt like a day of just hanging out with friends. It was a nice change of pace from our usual lives and made me feel like a teenager again while being in nature and laughing and having fun with the group. I cannot suggest this tour more! (Roy was so kind to take several pictures and videos for us on his phone then sent them to us afterwards). I highly suggest leaving your phone in the car so you can truly be present in the moment.

    Best tour guides ever!

The hosts Roy and Hazael, are both full of energy and enthusiasm, capable of keeping everybody entertained and feeling comfortable. You can tell they have passion for not just the beautiful attraction but for doing a good job as a guide, making sure everyone gets the full experience. They are hilarious as well! The actual experience is beautiful, engaging, and so so worth it. Thank you roy and hazael and everyone we met along the way. if you reading this you can park at the hotel across the street it’s about $22 dollar parking for the day but it’s worth it if you can’t find good street parking or private parking.

Great experience with a great guide!

We had a great time! Our guide was Roy and he was the absolute best! Very fun. Very knowledgeable. He went above and beyond! It’s strenuous. You will climb, you will hike and you will get wet. Wearing water shoes or closed shoes is an absolute must! You can leave your stuff in the car cause you won’t need it. Wish I would’ve of lol. They will take pics for you as well for free so all you have to do is enjoy the moment!

    Nice but unprepared

    Richelle_H, Apr 2026
Tour was great and so was the guide. It was beautiful and cool rock formations. The description should have more detail, as it was more strenuous than I anticipated and most in group tour had wrong footwear for climbing over rocks in the water and swimming.

A must see in Puerto Rico! Airam and Sarah were incredible guides. The river traverse is a bit rocky, and the thoughtful guides were always willing to give me a hand. Definitely wear either Tivas or some other firm soled water shoe. The pickup is about a 10 minute Uber ride from the cruise ship terminal, for those arriving that way.

This was an amazing experience, our guide Alexis was amazing, you could tell this was literally his backyard. Would recommend to anyone.

    The best excursion in PR!

    Sarah_B, Apr 2026
Loved this excursion! Our group of 6 had Roy as a guide which was incredible. Make sure to bring closed toe sneakers that you don’t mind getting soaked. Couldn’t recommend this enough!

    Cool AF!

    Kaycee_R, Apr 2026
Loved this tour! Caves were cool AF! The hike was more strenuous than I thought. I’m in mild shape and my legs were jelly. I also have a fused ankle but was still able to get around. Edgar, our guide, was very helpful! At the end, there was a guy with a banged up, albeit very reliable, suv to drive you back to the top for $5. Solid decision! Definitely recommend!
