Stan is an amazing guide. He is proud of French history and we learned so much from him.
Also learned how to maneuver my way through the city on the train and subway system!
Mary_S, Jul 2026
The tour guides are great. Without them, you would not get half as much information or see things you would not consider on your own.
Diane_E, Jul 2026
Bayo was amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable, was conscious about timing of the tour, and brought humor to the experience! Thanks for a great day!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you, Diane! We're so glad Bayo's mix of knowledge and humour made for such a great day - and it's lovely that you noticed his care with timing too, since keeping a good pace through the palace's one-way route is something our guides work hard to get right. We'll be sure to share this with him!
Beatrice_B, Jul 2026
They really try to work with you. Communication is key! Got a little loss and was late. Was able to catch up before the tour started. Communication was the key factor.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you, Beatrice! We're so glad our team could help you find your way and get you reconnected in time - we always keep a close eye out for guests who are having trouble getting to the meeting point, and it's exactly why we call and stay in contact if anyone hasn't arrived yet. We're really glad the communication meant you didn't miss a moment of the tour itself!
Laura_S, Jul 2026
Great tour. Easy transportation. Guides were helpful, knowledgeable and personable. And the length of the tour was ideal
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you, Laura! We're so glad the transportation felt so easy, and that the team looked after you so well throughout. Getting the pacing right so the day feels complete without dragging is something we think about carefully, so it's great to hear it landed just right for you.
WBC_E, Jul 2026
Our group was shepherded with care from the Regalia rendezvous out to the great palace, where we were handed over to our main guide, Julie. She deserves a high rating, informative not only on the fabric of the palace but also of the nature of Louis XIV. She held our attention throughout a long tour among crowded rooms in extreme temperatures. Well worth the effort.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you! We're so glad Julie's knowledge of both the palace itself and the history of Louis XIV came through so well — holding a group's attention through crowded rooms in that heat is no small thing, and it's exactly what a good guide makes possible. It's lovely to read that the meeting at Regalia felt like a proper start to the day and that you were well taken care of on the journey too. We'll make sure Julie sees this!

A great tour with a fantastic guide.
Matthieu was very knowledgeable and took us throughout the place and grounds. His art history background really shows in his subject knowledge.
Taking the public train to and from the palace was very easy and the coordinator who met us and took us to Versailles made sure we all knew how to get back on our on when we finished.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you, Scott! Mathieu's background in art history really does bring an extra layer to the visit — it's wonderful when that expertise comes through so clearly. Glad the train made for such an easy way to get to and from Versailles, and that our coordinator made sure everyone felt confident finding their own way back afterward. Really appreciate you sharing this!
Katheryn_O, Jul 2026
Claire was a magnificent guide! Travelers should know that there is quite a bit of walking involved, including from the train station to the palace. Also, once the tour ends the return trip is on your own. One suggestion for the tour operator is to upgrade the headsets to disposable earbuds for a more comfortable listening experience. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour, learned a lot and appreciated Claire’s perspective of bringing to life what royal court life would have actually been like. She was great at managing some of the youngest travelers too, on a very hot day, and even thought to bring spritzes of water for our faces. Truly fantastic experience!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you, Katheryn! Claire clearly brought the whole story of royal court life to life for you, and it's wonderful to hear she looked after the youngest in your group too, water spritzes and all, on such a hot day. On the headsets, the good news is that what you had were actually the upgrade: brand new, adjustable, state-of-the-art devices we moved to specifically instead of disposable earbuds, which create a huge amount of unrecyclable waste. We appreciate you flagging the walking and the independent return too, both good things for future guests to know ahead of time. We're so glad it was such a memorable day despite the heat!
James_J, Jul 2026
It is very hot during summer, enough so that the garden tour will be difficult for the heat sensitive. The palace is not entirely air conditioned.
Berrick took care of the train logistics and was immensely helpful with route/return planning.
Palace guide Bayou was most enthusiastic but would have benefitted from more pure history and a quicker pace of moving through.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for such a thorough review, James! Berek is fantastic at the train logistics, so it's great to hear the route and return planning went smoothly under his watch.
The heat in summer really can be intense, especially in a palace built long before air conditioning existed — bringing water is always a good shout, and our morning tours are a cooler, quieter option if the heat is a concern next time. On the history side, Bayo's approach leans into just how theatrical and strange court life at Versailles genuinely was — the rituals, the rank, the scheming were as real as anything in the history books, which is why our guides bring it to life rather than just listing dates. The palace's one-way route means he chooses where to pause rather than moving at a fixed pace, so the flow is deliberate rather than rushed.
Hope the rest of your time here in Paris stayed cool!
Kunal_P, Jul 2026
Amazing tour guide & lot of fun! Spoke very well English. Everyone enjoyed - adults & kids. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept everyone entertained.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you Kunal! Mathieu has a wonderful ability to bring Versailles to life for everyone and we're so glad the whole group — adults and kids alike — had such a great time. That's always something we love to hear! He'll be delighted to read this. Hope you had a fantastic time here in Paris.
Cheryle_J, Jul 2026
Two hours in the palace is longer than most people would want. Most of our group left half way through
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you Cheryle! Versailles really does reward time — the palace is so extraordinary that every room has a story worth hearing, and our guides love making sure guests leave with a real sense of the history and the people who lived there. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris.
Monica_K, Jul 2026
The beauty and intricacies of the art found in Versailles are mind blowing. So much history shared by our very knowledgeable guide. In my opinion, it’s a must visit place.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you Monica! The art and decoration at Versailles really is extraordinary — every room tells a story and there is always something new to discover. We're so glad our guide brought all that history to life so clearly. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris!
Lori_B, Jul 2026
Wow!!! This was an amazing palace, and I am very pleased and glad we used Viator! The first guide met us at a cafe' right on time! He was super nice and got us to the train station. He remained with us until our palace guide greeted us. Our next guide was very informative and such a delight!! She shared so many interesting bits of information! The Palace of Versailles is absolutely gorgeous!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you Lori! We love that both our coordinator and guide came through so clearly — that seamless handover from train to palace is something our team takes real pride in. And Versailles really is breathtaking — we're so glad all those wonderful details and stories made the visit so special. Hope you had a fantastic time here in Paris!
Jason_R, Jul 2026
Experience was exactly as described. Guide was great with their information and how they shared it. Tour was perfect length.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you so much Jason for your review! We'll pass it to Cristina, she'll be as pleased as we are to read it! We're so glad you enjoyed the tour, Versailles is one of our favourite places and it's always such a pleasure to share with people who appreciate its history and beauty. We hope you had a wonderful stay here!
Maria_E, Jun 2026
Very sweet guides and super informative and fun! Our train was delayed but guides were able to get us in one hour later than the ticket time…thank goodness!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Maria! We're so glad the guides took such good care of you, and that our team was able to help when the train was delayed — we always do everything we can to make sure no one misses out. Sweet, informative and fun is exactly what we hope every guest experiences! Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris.
Liz_D, Jun 2026
As expected the Palace was packed but our guide was thorough and informative. She easily maneuvered around the crowds and kept us very informed. The gardens were specatcular,
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Liz for your 5 stars and kind comments. We are so pleased you enjoyed your tour and your guide, Versailles can get crowded but as you saw the guides are experts at working those crowds and finding the best spots to stop and enjoy.
We're so glad you loved the gardens! We do too, they really are something special, and should not be missed on a visit to Versailles.
We hope you had a fantastic time here in Paris!
Puja_G, Jun 2026
Our guide did her best to give us a good tour on one of the hottest days in Paris. We spent a lot of time discussing the art of the room, and it would have been interesting to learn more about the actual use of the rooms and the families that lived there in general.
We had a large group of 20 people which made it difficult to navigate inside the house, especially since all tour groups were trying to cram through at the same time. It would have been nice if our guide waited a bit before thrusting us into the crowded rooms, but understand she's also on a schedule.
The train ride guide in the morning is helpful if you're new to the metro as they will show you had to use the transit system. However, if you are already accustomed to the trains I would go earlier to Versaille and start a tour. Our tour started at 8:45 am however we didn't actually start our Versaille tour until closer to 10-1030, and by then we were already battling other tour groups.
Our guide was friendly but overall I would find a different version of this tour or go on my own much earlier in the morning before the tours hit.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Puja for such detailed feedback. Last week's heat was truly exceptional and we're glad your guide did her best to make it a great day regardless.
A few points we'd like to share. Our groups are capped well below the maximum we're permitted — we choose 20 to keep the experience as comfortable as possible. As for pace inside the palace, all visits follow a one-way route and guides cannot stop and wait or the whole palace backs up — but they always find the best spots to pause, see everything and absorb the details comfortably.
The 8:45am departure to a 10am reservation is by design — the journey takes around 40 minutes and we build in a buffer for any train delays. The 9am opening rush is actually one of the busiest moments at Versailles and our timed reservation at 10am means a smoother, more enjoyable entry. Everything is planned with our guests' comfort in mind. For guests already confident with the trains, we do offer a tour departing directly from Versailles. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris.
Jonathan_M, Jun 2026
Amelie is a consumate professional. She knows whatever there is to know about Versailles and is truly a pleasure.
Don't forget to tip your guide, whomever you may get!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Jonathan! Amélie truly is a consummate professional and her depth of knowledge about Versailles is extraordinary — we are very lucky to have her. And what a lovely thing to say about tipping your guide! We'll make sure she sees your kind words. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris.
Jeanette_B, Jun 2026
The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. She gave us a great tour filled with facts and humor. I highly recommend this tour, we didn’t have to wait in line which was wonderful.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Jeanette! Facts and humour is a perfect combination for a day at Versailles and we're so glad Cécile delivered both so well. We really appreciate the recommendation — it means a great deal to us. She'll be delighted to hear this. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris!
Daniele_B, Jun 2026
I was a little nervous about taking the train to Versailles but our guide, Berrick, met us at a cafe across from the train station, escorted us on the train, and made sure everyone knew exactly how to get where they wanted to go after visiting Versailles.
After the tour, we were able to explore the gardens and palace on our own and take the train back whenever we decided. The flexibility of this tour is perfect for anyone who wants to make sure they see all of the highlights and learn the history behind them while also having the freedom to explore the expansive grounds at their leisure.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Daniele — and what a perfect title for your review! Berek is wonderful at making the train feel easy and stress-free, and that flexibility afterwards is one of the things we love most about this tour. Unlike a bus, the train means you leave when you're ready — whether that's a quick look at the gardens or a full afternoon exploring at your own pace. You've summed up exactly why we do it this way! We'll make sure Berek sees your kind words. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris.
Lauren_W, Jun 2026
The tour was super informative. Wonderful to have a tour of the palace and gardens from a local woman in Paris. Cecile had a great sense of humor and explained the history and the meaning it has in France. Make sure you are aware if you booked morning and afternoon tour sessions. There are policies the palace has in place that must be followed so plan your day accordingly. They let you in with water containers so you can use the pump by gardens and enjoy the public park beyond the gardens which is huge!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Lauren! We're so glad Cécile's local knowledge and humour made the history of Versailles so enjoyable. And great tip about the water and the public park beyond the gardens — it really is a wonderful spot that so many visitors miss! We'll make sure she sees your kind words. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris.
jody_M, Jun 2026
Great tour! The palace and gardens are amazing! A must see for sure. Our Guide was very knowledgeable.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Jody! The palace and gardens really are extraordinary — there is so much history and beauty to discover in both. We're so glad our guide brought it all to life for you. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris!
Cynthia_S, Jun 2026
Highly recommend this tour. Berek waa sn excellent guide and he did a great job of explaining many things before we ever got to Versailles. Our tour guide at Versailles, believe it was Mateo, was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge base was impressive. I highly, highly recommend this tour! Highlight of our trip!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Cynthia! What a wonderful thing to hear — the highlight of your trip means so much to us. Berek has such a talent for setting the scene before you even arrive, and Mathieu's knowledge clearly made the palace itself unforgettable. We'll make sure they both see your kind words — and we really appreciate the recommendation! Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris.
DianandJesd_P, Jun 2026
It is better to go early morning because there are less people. Our tour guide used to be a teacher so he kept us all together. He knew a ton of history, was interesting and gave a lot of information.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you! Great tip about the morning — it really is a wonderful time to experience Versailles, and we do offer morning tours for exactly that reason. We're so glad your guide's background as a teacher came through — that gift for keeping everyone together while sharing so much history is something special. We'll make sure he sees your kind words. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris!
Sheena_B, Jun 2026
Both tour guides were very helpful and knowledgeable. Marion was very well-versed in her historic knowledge of Versailles and moved at a good pace.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Sheena! We're so glad Berek and Marion both made such a great impression. Her depth of knowledge and sense of pace are exactly what makes a day at Versailles feel both informative and enjoyable. We'll make sure they both see your kind words. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris!
Kristin_P, Jun 2026
Friendly and knowledgeable guides (one at meeting location to Versailles and another at Versailles). Easy to find at meeting location. Overall very enjoyable experience.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Kristin! We're so glad it all went so smoothly. Our fantastic team of coordinators escort our guests from Paris to Versailles to meet their guide, so you're well looked after every step of the way. And we're delighted your guide at the palace made such a great impression too! We'll make sure they both see your kind words. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris!
Elizabeth_M, Jun 2026
It was fantastic! “P” was amazing! She knew her history and was so animated and excited to share. She answered everyone’s questions and was so thorough.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Elizabeth! That kind of energy and enthusiasm for Versailles is exactly what makes a tour memorable, and we love that no question went unanswered. We'll make sure she sees your kind words. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris!
Julie_F, Jun 2026
Very convenient and easy way to visit Versailles. Our tour guide was excellent and made the whole experience smoothe and informative.

Julie_G, Jun 2026
Bayo was humorous and very knowledgeable. He has numerous master's degrees!
What was awesome was communication with the office as we were late for our tour departure in Paris , but were able to get to Versailles and meet up with group in time to take the whole tour.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Julie! We monitor arrivals in real time on every tour and always reach out to guests if we can help — so we're really glad the team was able to get you to Versailles and into the tour in time. It doesn't always work out that way but we always do everything we can! And what a treat to have Bayo once you got there — his knowledge and humour make for an extraordinary day. We'll make sure he and the team see your kind words. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris!
Amalia_B, Jun 2026
Berrick guided us wonderfully through the train process up to meeting our palace guide. Bayo was a great tour guide in the palace. He gave indepth details of each room with a good story. He navigated us through although we wish we had more time in some rooms for pictures.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you Amalia! We're so glad Berek made the journey out so smooth and that Bayo's stories and depth of knowledge made each room come alive for you. Versailles is so extraordinary — with so many magnificent rooms, the stunning gardens and so much history to discover, there is always more to take in than time allows! We'll make sure they both see your kind words. Hope you had a wonderful time here in Paris!
