Great and funny guide with a fantastic sense of humor who made the whole tour entertaining from start to finish. We really enjoyed this tour. We were a small group of 5 including myself and my husband. Our guide Oriana was a local who was informative as well as entertaining. There was plenty of food on this tour. Oriana’s conversation was lively and made for a really enjoyable few hours. Would highly recommend.

Great tour- there was a wide variety of street food with flavors for everyone. Guide was excellent and even made sure we had a non alcoholic drink for the child. Food was amazing and we ended with the perfect gelato or cannoli

Annalisa was a very good guide, born and raisedi in the city and she could tell us a lot about the history of Palermo. This was very interesting. We had 4 stops with different street food, and we walked through different streets. It was a great and informative experience.

This was our first walking tour ever and it set a high bar for others to try and beat. Gieuseppe was our guide and he is a Palermo native who loves his city. As such he was very informed of the city’s history, culture, and gastronomy. He was energetic, patient with all our questions, and is clearly a natural for this type of service! The food was delicious and I was left wondering how Do Eat Better would still profit from our experience. Subpar, I did this tour based on Viator high recommendations and this was the worst food tour I have taken, poor food locations little information, guide was unkept but nice

First site ran late with providing food, extra beer given but delay tainted that experience
Other sites were ready when we arrived. Plenty of food offered. Guide gave reasonable amount of info on food and answered questions. Local history info was good. This was my first foodie tour experience, not sure if it is something I will try again.

Greatly enjoyed this tour of Palermo and taste of Sicily. Tasty street food - four fried foods, foccacia and either cannoli or gelato at the end. Enjoyed some coke to wash it down. Saw Palermo life and some of the best sights. Easy to get to from cruise pier. Easy, breezy introduction to Palermo culture and common man cuisine. Anna is a fantastic, engaging tour guide.

Don’t eat too much for breakfast as you will eat lots on the tour. You learn a lot about how the food is prepared and the diversity of cultures that have shaped the food culture in Sicily

We did the tour with Carlo. He is a chill guy, gave some good info but he does not have a strong food background so we did not get detailed explanations about history ingredients or techniques. But if you want a slow amble through town there were 4 food stops all worthwhile except for dessert was generic in a touristy place. Would have been an amazing touch to go into a home and have grandmas cannolis or be invited into a restaurant kitchen — or some interaction with a cook or restauranteur.

The portions were small and we did not get certain foods on the itinerary. We were supposed to have received panini ca’ meusa and panini with panelle and crocche. Instead we were given an individual crocche and a single small piece of panelle.
Twelve of us had to share 3 beers which was sad compared to food tours we’ve had on the past. Spleen sandwiches were offered but 1/3 of the group would not eat them and had cheese sandwiches instead.
The canoli was great but there was supposed to be a stop after that for granita. We never got that either.
We have never been on a food tour with so little food. We liked our guide and don’t know if she was told to skip items on the itinerary and to provide small portions or if it was her decision. We were still hungry and stopped for some delicious pasta on our way back.
Many of us had already taken sightseeing tours. There should be less time talking about the sights and more time giving us more foods to try such as an issue of a good homemade pasta and something from the sea.
We have been on over 25 food tours and this one provided the smallest portions. We expected better portions since only a limited amount of food is offered.
We signed up because of what was offered and not he side of what little we received.

The aim of the experience is to allow guests to sample a variety of different local foods across multiple stops, rather than serving large single portions at each location, especially being a street food tour.
Regarding specific items, substitutions may occasionally occur depending on seasonal availability. When this happens, they are replaced with equivalent traditional alternatives to ensure the integrity of the experience is maintained.
With regard to drinks, these are served according to the itinerary and group logistics at each stop, where sharing or serving arrangements can vary depending on the venue setup and timing of the tour.
We are also sorry to hear your impression regarding the balance between cultural explanation and food experience. Our tours are designed to combine both elements, as Palermo’s food culture is deeply connected to its history and traditions.

Knowledgeable guide (Anna), passionate about Sicilian culture and food. Of the four stops, only one "spleen sandwich" was truly memorable; the others (arancina, gelato, etc.) were generic. I wished there was a meat and cheese stop to "balance it out". Still, an easy way to sample some Sicilian classics in a vibrant part of the city.
