Patrizia welcomed us into her home (which is beautiful) and shared her knowledge of Sicilian wines while we snacked on an abundance of cheeses and home-cooked bites. We had a lot of caponata on our trip and Patrizia's was by far our favorite. Patrizia makes you feel like you are a dear friend lucky to snag an invite to one of her parties.

It was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The wines were amazing as was the cheese the hostess is so knowledgeable, so friendly, and so helpful. My only mistake was I didn't book the lunch after the wine tasting. And it's more than a wine tasting. You get a full glass of each wine we had six wines. She explains where they're from. She even has the olive oil that she makes at the the tasting table. I learn more at this wine tasting than any other wine tasting I've done anywhere in the world. Her apartment is filled with artwork a beautiful view I can't say enough about how amazing it was. It was actually the high point of my entire trip.

We were really looking forward to doing wine and cheese tasting in Sicily, especially as it was to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately, the experience wasn’t as expected. It didn’t feel worth the money that we spent (£250 plus booking fee). The experience felt a bit awkward. We were served food which had been cooked by the two other guests in attendance and, although it was lovely, we were only anticipating wine and cheese tasting so we felt obligated to eat a meal. The cheese was not paired with the wines and there was not a lot of wine on offer for the amount paid. We also thought it would be held in a public place, as opposed to someone’s apartment. Just a bit of an unusual experience and not what we expected.

It's bizarre to receive a less-than-optimal review among so many positive and even more-than-positive ones, when you actually arrived significantly late for your meeting while other guests were waiting for you. Good manners would suggest an apology for the incident, but nothing from these guests, so lacking in good manners and courtesy. But returning to the experience, the description clearly states that it takes place in an 18th-century noble palace, inside a private home overlooking Palermo Cathedral, a location all our guests described as wonderful. The wines offered—not glasses but whole bottles that the guests drank in their entirety—were paired with cheeses, and in addition to the tasting, an additional service was provided: a Sicilian lunch prepared by our chef. Maybe too much for people who cannot appreciate.

I booked this experience very late and was a bit apprehensive when Patrizia asked if I could reschedule. I couldn't and she graciously accommodated me. I ended ip in a one-on-one wine and cheese (and other goodies) tasting afternoon with her on her lovely terrace just opposite the Cathedral. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it! She introduced me to Sicilian wine and cheese, and we chatted on numerous topics ... the time just flew by! And she was very helpful in getting me a cab back when I couldn't find one :) I would do this again if/when (fingers crossed) I go back to Palermo!

The experience was really authentic! We were in this women’s home and she told us about the different wines and cheeses we were eating! She is also a very good cook and gave us samples of her homemade caponata, pesto, olive oil and cassata pie. All were absolutely amazing!!! Great local experience!!!

Fantastic wine and cheese experience

My wife and I had a fantastic wine and cheese tasting experience with the fantastic host, Patrizia. She has a lovely home across from the Cathedral so not only do you get a great food experience you also are in a beautiful area of Palermo. The three white and three red Sicilian wines along with local cheese’s were fantastic. And to make it even better we were able to keep sampling till the bottles were done, good thing we had Uber to take us back to our hotel. The final treat was getting to try her homemade limoncello. We highly recommend Patrizia for all of her cooking and tasting tours.

We had so much fun! We learned about the wines and were able to enjoy each other’s company. The complimentary cheese tasting helped enjoy the flavors and we even got a bonus taste of her homemade pesto pasta- thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely recommend and do again!

The experience was extremely memorable. We sat at the table with our group of 5 and other group of 5 which created an intimate but Iively crew, and was the perfect number for the experience. We were able to learn about the wines of Sicily and pair it with cheeses that she had recommended. We were plesently surprised by additional dishes that represented Sicilian culture and were delicious, with the whole group buying cookbooks so we can re-create the dishes for our friends and family back home. Highly recommend this experience to all!

Not Happy. Poor organisation.

The experience was booked and confirmed and the operator did not show up, when we contacted them they informed us that they don't even do the experience on that day and it would not be possible to do the wine and cheese tasting. I'm not sure why viator allowed us to book the experience when it was not even available on that day. We wasted a lot of our time running around getting to the meet point on time and then spent 20mins standing around like idiots for no one. Not impressed.
