I had a great time on this wonderful tour. I really enjoyed Segesta with its ancient monuments, The salt pans outside Tranpani and Erice, which is a beautiful town, perched on a steep hill. It has great views. I would highly recommend this tour

I had a great experience and our driver was amazing and super knowledgeable! the places we saw were incredible and each destination we had a lot to explore and see

Exactly as advertised: transport via van to 3 stops with clear directions on how long to spend at each site and where to meet. We were lucky to have a sunny March day at Segesta, our 1st stop, before a tour bus arrived with more people. Salt pans was a quick stop, interesting with flamingos seen in the distance. Erice was worth the 2+ hours spent: wander the streets, visit the churches & castle, have lunch, see Trapani from high above.

Timing was very good as far as having enough time to explore the ruins and the medieval town. Beautiful locations and a very scenic drive up to the village. The van was comfortable but it was impossible to hear anything the driver said in the back row. A little disappointed that there wasn’t more of a tour experience from the driver as I have enjoyed that in other viatar tours, but the drive was safe and enjoyable and the locations were well worth visiting.

Sergio was the best. Took care of us. Everything was on time and fun. Highly recommend this from Palermo.

We were worried about doing the three stops with a large group, but the pacing was great, and everyone was cooperative.

Great tour, perfect timing. Comfortable bus. Driver provided some recorded information in several languages, although no guide on the tour.

Efficient transport service for a day trip to Segesta temple place and Erice medieval city, stopping by a salt pan in between. Getting back to Palermo from Erice in an hour. You can’t get there faster than by yourself.
A lot of noon-time walking in Erice by yourself without any guidance (which I liked, giving you more freedom and time alone). Familiar with the area beforehand.

I was surprised by the structure in Erice and the auditorium that romans are building for the people during that period in time.
Amanda_B, Jun 2025
The best part was exploring Erice, a medieval hilltop town 2400feet above sea level!! Walk the whole town before choosing a restaurant, there are great ones off the beaten path!

The van was vey comfortable, everything easy very organized but the best part of our trip easy our driver and tour guide Michaele! He was kind, incredibly knowledgeable, patient, gave great recommendations, he made the trip the best! ☺️🤗

It's just transport to the places on the itinerary. Don't expect a tour guide! Good driver but not very helpful with timings etc..

The tour was exactly as expected - a bus ride to the three locations and the guide was helpful and knowledgeable.

This is a great, very varied tour: the ride allows you to discover some beautiful costal and hilly landscapes. The sites are worth to visit.
The tour is great for individual travelers, who do not want to rent a car to access remote sites.
Driver ( Salvatore) and guide ( Michael) were great companions

Erice is a town not to be missed. It is simply enchanting. We had two hours to visit this town full of history, architecture and more. You can also do shopping of very nice articles there; or have a meal on one of the restaurants. I loved it. The other two places were nice. To have a guide would have been important.

On the good side:
- Pick up was punctual.
- If you don't want (or cannot) drive it might be a solution to see Segesta and Erice
On the bad side:
- First thing the driver mentioned is that he is the driver and not a guide. I guess they are responding to previous bad reviews, however I am uncertain this is the way to treat paying customers.
- They packed 8 of us in the small van and that was not a comfortable ride esp if you had to sit on the front.
- The stop at Salt Pans Trapani is unnecessary (at least it's not long).
- The price for what they offer (just driving) is quite high but i guess they take advantage of the lack of public transport alternatives

Overall the tour was good. We were told to be at the meeting point by 8. When I followed up with the company to find out where exactly the being point was, I was told we would leave by 8:15. We actuality left after 8:30 and we're told that tour actually leaves at 8:30. It states that it offers hotel pick up and drop off abs this isn't the case, which caused confusion for some on the tour, causing them to be late.

Packed whole day trip, good time organisation, great places to be, travels in between were all good distance, the guy on bus was providing plenty of background briefing, really enjoyed it.

Great driver and very nice commentator. We had free time at all the sites and were given very helpful info and historical content from the commentator on the bus previous to the arrival of the 3 sites. Perfect amount of time at each site. Highly recommend.

This was a very informative excursion, the highlight being Segesta and Erice. I knew very little about the ancient town of Segesta, and the superb ruins were an unexpected and momentous find, made more impressive by the location, a stunningly beautiful and peaceful mountain. The guide, Salvo, did his best to bring it all to life for us. But a real highlight was discovering Erice, built into the clouds on a precipitous mountain. A very sophisticated and elegant place which I’d be happy to return to.

This was a great way to see the sights but if you're expecting a guide you'll be disappointed. It is basically transport you're paying for. You don't get any information so do your research before you go. Once at Segesta make sure you go to the amphitheatre first as this will be better use of your limited time. There is a shuttle bus to take you to the top which you'll need to pay for along with your entrance fee. The shuttle bus goes on the hour and half hour. You can walk but it's steep and will take about 25 mins. Bus takes about 5 mins. It's well worth it when you get to the top. Lots to see, not just the amphitheatre. You can pretty much see the entire of the temple from the car park so can walk to that if you have the time after you've done the main bit.
Don't bother paying for a ticket at the salt pans. You can walk round some for free and you don't see anything different with your ticket.
In Erice it is steep but really pretty. Again do your research and work out what you want to see while you're there. We got lunch while we were there so lost a little time doing that but still managed to see a good selection whilst there.

Our tour guide and bus driver were very friendly and knowledgeable. I don't remember the abilty rating for this tour but it kicked our butts! It was 90° and everything is uphill. Luckily we were able to get water at Segesta and Erice to help us through. But I would definitely recommend doing some research on the layout of each location. The views were beautiful, the history was interesting, and the people were friendly. Note that you do need to pay an entrance and shuttle gee for Segesta, I wasn't aware of that but might have missed it in the description. I would definitely recommend as long as you are prepared to hike around. We had 2 hrs to explore at Segesta and 2 hrs to explore Erice and 15 mins at the Salt Pans.

We had a great day exploring Segesta and Erice!
Would definitely recommend this tour.
A suggestion for the tour is to remove the salt pans visit and increase the time in Erice.

Good planning and great communication about keeping us informed. Comfy buses
a reasonably good guide.
Segeste and Erice has a lot of stuff for sightseeing. Not much in Trapani.
Will do this again. Better to do this trip rather than drive on your own.

The guides did not provide critical information on how to get some of the Greek ruins in Segesta. We were not told that a bus could take us to this site (3/4 mile away uphill). We had two hours at the site and did not discover this until it was too late so did not get to see them. Later, when we visited the Trapani salt pans, they provided no information on how the salt pans worked.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
The tour was operated with host and not with guide
Jennifer_T, May 2024
Great way to visit the 3 sites with no fuss. Guide should be more firm on times people need to return to the bus. People that did not return promptly made it so that we did not get to spend as much time in Erice.

Well organised with an excellent, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide in the shape of Joshua. A wonderful taster for the jewel that is Sicily.
