Our guide was wonderful. Showed us the train system - didn’t work as we still got lost but not her fault. Visited the shrines on our list and she was so informative and interestingly. It was a long tiring day but worth it and she stopped regularly for drinks and lunch. Particularly loved the wee cafe she stopped at in the afternoon for tea and cake. All costs included which was a surprise.

Well organized. Excellent English speaking guide who gave us great information on all the sights we visited. Kyoshi our guide even sang for us at the end of the trip which made it fun. The memorial museum was a sad and solemn part of the tour. All the entrance tickets I.e the subway ride, Bullet train ferry, museum etc were all included in this package. I would highly recommend it if you're willing to spend the extra..

This was an amazing day trip from Osaka! Well worth the time and the effort - it is a MUST to visit Hiroshima, especially the museum, which is incredibly powerful, and the experience will be with us for some time.

Very well arranged tour with Hikari as guide made things very easy for us. Everything worked according to the schedule given. Great job done by Viator.

We thought the tour of the Island was too long and the visit to Hiroshima too short. Keiko was a very good hostess.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for your valuable feedback. We're delighted to hear that Keiko was a very good hostess. We've noted your comments regarding the tour duration for the Island and Hiroshima, and we will certainly take them into consideration for future improvements. We hope to welcome you on another tour soon.

LONG DAY but perfect to do Hiroshima in a full 14 hours.
Everything is organized and instructions are perfectly given after reservation.

This was an historical tour & well done given the heavy subject matter. We were impressed with our tour guide and bus driver & escort.

Firstly, make sure you are ready for a big day - approx 14hrs. I found the communication from the operator excellent prior to our departure, where to meet and remember, they run on a tight time schedule and you cannot be late. Trains in Japan run exactly on-time, so there is no room for a minute or two being late. We were greeted by our guide at the meeting point who then accompanied us to the next station to our connection for the bullet train - what a great experience. At the end destination from the train, we were greeted by our guide for the day and stepped on our bus for an hour drive to the ferry to Miyajima, which we were advised to go to right side for the best view (along with everyone else !!) From the ferry we followed our guide, we made our way to the Itsukushima Shrine with many stops in-between and then left to wander around by ourselves for approx 1.5hrs to enjoy this amazing place and see Deer who were a bit persistent. A place we'd love to go back and spend some more time. Again, remember this tour is on a time limit and being late is not an option. Next stop was Hiroshima Peace Memorial; felt we were a little rushed but there is so much to see and absorb - the museum was so busy and crowded we probably didn't fully appreciate the whole experience and have put on the list for next time to spend more time. Overall, the tour was a great overview and would recommend if you have a short time in the area and trying to experience as much as you can. Tip: we were lucky there was only 15 on our tour and not sure whether we would of enjoyed if we had a full tour group, not against the guide, it is more keeping that many people together and hearing what is being said. Overall - enjoyable and recommend.

This tour is awesome! It was well worth it. My brother and I enjoyed this tour on 1st of October 2025. Mr. Takeshi is very informative and actually take time. He engage with us all the time by asking questions. Money well spent!

Although a long day, it was extremely rewarding and a sobering experience.
Yuko was amazing. A local , who lives and breathes Hiroshima.
The trip is worth it.

Amazing experience. Our tour guide Mayumi was excellent. She is a daughter of Atomic bomb survivor and the stories she told us were very moving. Would recommend this tour!!

They took care of us from start to finish. Had a great local guide who took us to the places and gave great information.
Michelle_O, Jun 2025
his was an amazing experience and we learned so much history on the tragedy of the bombing of Hiroshima. Well worth the time. It was nice for us to have a human experience connected with the history we learn in school

This was a very good trip. I had planned this mainly for Hiroshima, however the island was a real treat, we enjoyed it a lot! The guides were very nice and did a great job!
Daniel_D, May 2025
This is a group tour so it lacks the flexibility of a private guide. We enjoyed it all, although I would have distributed the time more away from Miyajima and toward Hiroshima. The later being the primary focus of the day it should have received the bulk of the time. We did appreciate the seat reservations on the bullet train. We have had other tours that provided only unreserved seating with poor results. It is a long day but well worth it.
Olwyn_H, Apr 2025
Met my expectations, although I think it was a wee bit expensive for a one day tour that did not include lunch.
Pamela_H, Apr 2025
Miyajima is a beautiful island with the potential for hiking, riding the Gondola, and, of coarse, shopping. Unfortunately there was not enough time to eat lunch and get to Hiroshima. The memorial park and the museum are excellent explaining the consequences of the atomic bomb. From Osaka it was about a 14 hr day.
Tarik_B, Apr 2025
Great experience with a great guide from Hiroshima! Very well organized by the company! I would have preferred to spend more time at the Memorial museum but that is fine.
BASMATIE_D, Apr 2025
Your company is 100% reputable and I enjoyed the experience with the guide. Very informative and took the time to explain everything. Very helpful as well.

A day we will never forget. It was so moving the visit to Hiroshima. The Japanese have been very thoughtful in how they present the tragedy. The visit to the temple was by contrast very relaxing. The tour guide was just brilliant. She gave us a very informative tour, and shared some of her personal experiences. She could not have been better and went out of her way to make sure we got on the correct bullet rain back to Osaka. To meet the other guide in Osaka the meeting place is on the ground floor near the lifts ( this wasn't very clear ) But everything else was great.

The logistical part of the trip was well-done - Osake to Hiroshima by subway, train and bus. The tour guide was not good. She didn't have equipment to guide 34 tourists and had to shout to be heard in a crowded venue. Her commentary was trite and unconnected - for such a historical site we were hoping for a tour with facts about how the Pacific War started generally and events leading up to the atomic bombing, as well as aftermath. She just didn't deliver a good tour and she needed equipment for such a large group. Too expensive for what was delivered.

Hiro was an excellent tour guide! She gave a lot of information and kept the tour interesting. All the transportation was nicely escorted.

We had a great day touring Miyajima Island and Hiroshima with our tour guide, Nob. First of all, Miyajima Island is beautiful. We wish we had more time to explore the island as there was so much to see. The history of Hiroshima and the museum was hard to see, but fascinating. Our tour guide was very informative about the area and gave us first hand accounts of his mother's survival stories. This was an excellent tour.

My partner and I arrived before the described departure time. Nobody was located by the meeting spot. The meeting spot is a lounge of a hotel which when we got there was closed. We asked the staff there and they said they didn't know about it. We tried contacting the tour operator on Viator and got no response. We tried calling from a payphone as we didn't have a local phone number and also got no response. We both felt like nobody ever came or they left before the specified meeting time and did not contact anyone who didn't make it. Currently trying to get a refund for this as it was over $1,000AUD and we got nothing for it. Seems like a waste of money anyway as it was cheaper to do without the tour.
Maria_M, Apr 2024
The island of Miyagama was a nice tourist experience. The visit to Hiroshima was very moving, and with Sato's help we understood every reason and consequence. I would recommend this tour with Viator, specially because gave us freedom to choose our lunch preference.
Maria_Z, Apr 2024
I loved this trip. The tour guides were very organized to transport us from osaka to Hiroshima. I loved riding the Shinkansen experience.
Madhuri_M, Apr 2024
I enjoyed Miyajima Island and the Shrine and the Hiroshima tour was well explained and very interesting.
BiancaIoana_B, Apr 2024
My partner and I had a lovely experience. We learned so many interesting things from our guide Akiko. The trip is only scratching the surface of Hiroshima and Miyajima island given the time constaint, but totally worth it. The only thing we didn’t like was the fact that the group was rather large (10+ people), we had to wait multiple times and collect people from both Osaka and Hiroshima. On Miyajima we left the group and did our own thing and met the group at departure. This way we actually managed to see more of the island.
Diane_N, Apr 2024
Our group of 10 had a great day. It could have been better if our tour guide spoke better English, but she was really nice and it was a good tour.
