We had a great experience touring Osaka with Hugo. He sent an itinerary beforehand and we asked to modify it because we'd already seen some of it the day before. He was more than accommodating, took us to some really cool places we wouldn't have seen otherwise (especially Shinsekai), and enjoyed hearing his commentary about Osaka and Japanese culture. He took us to a great little restaurant too.

Arnaud was fantastic! He is so sweet, and personable, and gave us a wonderful tour. We had already been to Osaka Castle so he changed the tour to take us to places we hadn't seen. His English is superb and he was careful to accommodate my friend with bad knees by finding elevators and escalators whenever possible. He took us to so many interesting places we would never have found on our own, including the fish market, temples, and shrines. I highly recommend this tour. It was great to have a private tour with someone accommodating our wants and needs. You won't be sorry if you choose to go with Arnaud!

This was a great tour! Ami was our tour guide and we enjoyed her presentation of sights as well as her flexibility with our schedule. She was very helpful tailoring the tour to our timeframe and interests, which we appreciated. In addition, Ami shared some interesting background information about the Shinto and Buddhist faith. We loved seeing Osaka castle and Ami, again pointed out some fascinating facts about the history & structure of the castle. It was a wonderful tour and day with Ami!!

Hugo was an amazing guide for us. We're old and needed a slower pace, he altered the tour based on our needs, and even met us at a convenient location for us based on our previous tour. He explained all about the history, offered to take photos of us at each stop, plus escorted us to the proper subway platform so we could make it back to Kyoto. We'd highly recommend Hugo to anyone traveling to Osaka!

Mr Hugo was very nice and accommodating and very knowledgeable. It was very cold that day so we didn’t want to spend too much time but didn’t want to miss anything either so we did the entire tour in taxi

Hugo made our day. We were able to travel quickly between sites while Hugo informed us about culture. This trip was very worthwhile. We had been to Dotombori so we skipped this with Hugo and spent time at Kuromon market where we enjoyed some food. It was a relaxing day and we took the 5 hour trip. We saw sites we would have missed with our limited time and enjoyed our time rather than worrying about getting to the sites.

My tour guide Hugo met us at the train station as agreed at the time he agreed (ahead of time actually). He’s very friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. Because I had my teenage son with me Hugo allowed us to adjust the tour to meet the desire of my son. This was great and my son really enjoyed himself. As first-time visitors to Osaka, my husband and I couldn't have asked for a better guide than Hugo. From start to finish, he delivered an absolutely phenomenal day that has become the highlight of our entire trip to Japan.
Hugo's service began with incredible convenience - he met us right at our hotel, which was so helpful and made everything seamless from the very start. No confusion about meeting points or getting lost trying to find each other!
Hugo's expertise and local knowledge are truly impressive. He took us to incredible places we never would have discovered on our own - from the bustling energy of the fish market to the specialized charm of the Dotonbori kitchen ware district. But the real gem was Minoo Waterfall - one of Japan's top 50 most beautiful waterfalls! The hike there was perfectly manageable, and the scenery was breathtaking.
What sets Hugo apart is his ability to perfectly customize the experience. He somehow knew exactly what would captivate us - the serene beauty of Tennoji Gardens, the retro-futuristic atmosphere of Shin Sekai district, and that incredible sushi lunch! Speaking of which, Hugo's suggestion to turn our ultra-fresh sushi into a picnic in the nearby park was pure genius. Eating world-class sushi surrounded by cherry blossoms felt like a scene from a movie.
Hugo's linguistic skills are remarkable - he's fluent in Japanese, English, and French, which made communication effortless and allowed him to act as our cultural bridge throughout the day. Beyond his language abilities, Hugo is genuinely kind, considerate, and attentive to every detail. He even went above and beyond by helping us secure dinner reservations for tonight at a restaurant we'd been hoping to try.
If you're visiting Osaka and want more than just a typical tourist experience, Hugo is your guy. He doesn't just show you places - he creates memories. This was hands down one of the best guided experiences we've ever had anywhere in the world.

It is a walking tour, transportation between places to visit can be by taxi or public transportation (cost not included).
Hugo was and incredibly kind and knowlegable guide. We visited the castle and a couple of the most iconic neighborhoods (4 hr tour). We had a very good insight of local life in Osaka. Completely worthy.

We met our guide, Hugo, in front of the hotel. As it was our first day in Japan, he helped us and explained how the IC card works to travel by train and to pay for other things. We traveled by Metro to visit Osaka Castle and walk the streets of Osaka. We stopped for some kushikatsu at Kushikatsu Daruma, and learned from Hugo the story about the angry mascot outside the restaurant. I wish we had more time to visit more places in Osaka and learn more from Hugo.
