Get off-road on a guided ATV adventure through a lush, 850-acre (344-hectare) river valley in Jaco, riding along 3.7 miles (6 kilometers) of rugged jungle trails. We will visit the sanctuary of the white-faced capuchin monkeys, the most intelligent species of monkeys in the new world. Our visit will be safe and informative for everyone, from children to adults. We’ll learn about their family organization, alphas, and betas, and how to calculate their age. During these tours people are not allowed to touch the animals, but animals if they feel comfortable allowed to touch people. They are still wild animals and we are not violating their habitat. We don't allowed to feed them as well We’ll then see the crocodiles of Rio Grande de Tarcoles and enjoy the local souvenir sale and a buffet-style restaurant. We can choose to admire the crocodiles from the bridge or take a boat tour for an extra $43. The boat tour lasts approximately 1:40 minutes and includes bird watching and a naturalist guide. We’ll then go to a hidden beach in Jaco to see the sloths. We’ll sit on chairs, have a table, and I’ll serve drinks and snacks.

Exceptional

This experience was easily a 12/10 and one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. We booked both the zipline and ATV tour, and everything exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The ATV guides (Enrique & Jeremy) were absolutely fantastic and made sure we had an incredible time. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. One of the coolest moments was when they pointed out a sloth hanging around the property—it was such an unexpected treat and made the day even more special. The ziplining (the whole team was great, Helen ;) was exhilarating, the scenery was breathtaking, and the entire team created a fun and welcoming atmosphere. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area and would book again without hesitation!

Crazy Alex is The Man!!!

Request Crazy Alex & he will show up...doesn't disappoint!! He even helped other tour guides give the people a great experience. Been training the animals for 5 years to come to him & he can make all the sounds. He is personable and so much fun!!! I greeted us at our van with a monkey call. 😂 Be sure to bring cash so you can tip him well. His eye for finding animals is incredible!! This man even went up to a Viper snake in flip flops to get photos for us! Highly recommend Crazy Alex!!!

Our trip to Tortuga Island stared out with some very unfortunate weather however we made it to the Island safely with Robert as our captains. Fortunately it cleared up and we were able to try snorkeling and sub winging which was fun. On the beach we enjoyed a nice meal made by Robert’s wife and we had a much nicer ride back to the main land. Would definitely recommend this excursion!

Great experience

We had a wonderful time on our horseback tour. We went through old plantation fields crossed a river and went to the beach. Our Guild was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. He took pictures for us as we rode. He spotted our first sloth of our trip and seen some monkeys. Overall we had a great time, well worth the money and time.

This was a good tour for...

This was a good tour for a wide range of travelers. There were several young families on this trip, there were older travelers, and there were people of all ages looking to party (but not overwhelming anyone who wasn't). In short, if you want to party, you can, but I wouldn't characterize this as a party boat tour by any means-- you can totally bring your kids or go as someone who doesn't drink. The day started at 7 and ended a bit after 4, with about 6-7 of those hours being on the island. The food that was served was enough to keep you from getting hungry, and there was no shortage of drinks. The tour staff are friendly, responsive, and capable. Brandon took good care of us, as did the lead staff member in charge (whose name I'm unsure of, I'm sorry). Whenever you want a drink, either alcoholic or not, it appears quickly, and the trash is whisked away equally rapidly. Unlike other tours I've seen, you don't have to choose between activities-- you can go snorkeling, banana boating (which we skipped in favor of lying on the beach), AND do a quick hike. (We did the short version, because the long version was rained out, and we still saw javelinas and deer.) Or you can do none of those things and just lie on your comfy beach chair under your personal beach umbrella. Toilet access is included for free, though tips are appreciated on the island. The island also has a small souvenir shop that has sunscreen and such for sale, too. The water wasn't cold, though I would recommend swim shoes, because the beach is rocky. My husband really likes boats, swimming, and lying on the beach, so he was thrilled with the whole outing. I like not being seasick but am highly prone to it, and if that's you, I recommend being among the first to get in line to get back on the boat in the afternoon so that you can sit on the top and keep the horizon in view (not that things were bad on the way out, because they weren't, but this kept me from getting even a little bit dizzy). We both had a good time.

Best hike in Jaco area by far!

Absolutely incredible! Best hike we did in our trip. Dustin was our guide and did an amazing job. Easy to talk to, personable, and very good at his job. The hike has some strenuous parts, but the have different routes depending on capabilities and they make sure everyone has a chance to get to the good stuff. You will get wet... and it feels amazing! Do not hesitate one bit to book this tour. Do it!

A blast. The sights? Breathtaking. Zip lining over a mile, for as high up as we were, was unforgettable. Great picture opportunities. The only thing, when doing the atv portion: give yourself some space between you and the person in front so you can rip the gas and get some real speed. Be careful.

Zip Lining is AMAZING! Pura Vida!

This was my first time zip lining ever, and the gentleman made it a blast! They were very informative on what to do and what not to do prior to the experience, so all my nerves disappeared, and I had an amazing time! They were polite, funny, and super professional! Wonderful! Tons of wildlife!

I took my 3 year old on this boat ride by myself and it was absolutely wonderful. We saw over 10 small crocodiles and two large crocodiles, one of them completely out of the water. We also saw a ton of cool birds, including rosette spoonbills. The guide was so kind and they were respectful to the animals. Highly recommend.
