We were a group with three families including teenagers and some younger kids. They provided plenty of teachers and all of us were successful and can’t wait to try surfing again. They were wonderful teachers and most beautiful location.

Wow, what an incredible experience! Learning to surf has been on our bucket list and it didn't disappoint. The energy of the whole surfing crew and their love for the CR water was contagious! I only wish we could have done a few more days. A special thank you to Maria for sticking with my 8-year old. He said it was his favorite part of our trip. A shout out to Victor for the amazing photos (buy the photo packet you won't regret it). I also want to comment on the surf spot - the water is warm, the sand is free of rocks and shells, waves are consistent and perfect for beginners. We highly recommend this experience!

From start to finish this experience was terrific! The time of our lessons there was hard rain and we were able to push the time back without any conflict. The instructors are very nice and knowledgeable on surfing so even beginners were able to pick up quick and have fun. I would highly recommend surfer factory for anyone wanting to try our surfing. PURA VIDA!!

We had 3 kids ages 13, 17 and 20 participate. They LOVED this activity and indicated it was one of their favorites in Costa Rica. I highly recommend. Also, they have a photographer taking stills and drone footage. The pix and videos provided some pretty cool memories.

This was absolutely amazing. My kids (15 and 12) had never surfed before but Huggo spent time teaching them the basics before going out in the ocean. He'd spend about 3 waves with one before he went to help the other. By the end my kids were able to ride some waves. A bonus, Nadine was there taking great photos and videos for a pretty cheap price. Another bonus, there are locals on the beach and some taught us how to pick and open coconuts (which are free on the beach). We would have done it again but the waves were a little rough. But amazing experience with an amazing teacher.

Amber was our Surf Pro and she was incredibly patient and kind. It was a great experience and we had a lot of fun. Even saw some stingrays while waiting for a good surf. The only thing we did not know was that the meetup point is the Surf Shop and you are required to drive or get a ride to the surf location. Factor in a a few more mins to get there so you're getting your full 2 hour time slot.

Watching my son on day 1 catch some waves was indeed a memory I won't forget. This was a brief trip (3 days) and it was exhausting yet awesome to create an experience. The crew at Surfer Factory / the photos and videos with the drone to map out the day were all top notch. The beach and the waves were awesome. Will be back soon.

We did a small group beginner lesson with John and had so much fun that we can back the next day for private lessons with John, Amber & Hugo. The instructors were amazing and the service was top notch. If we ever make it back to Jacó, we’ll definitely be surfing with Alain (the owner) and his team again!

I took my children on the monkey grove tour in Costa Rica and it was INCREDIBLE. We got to encounter white face monkeys up close. Our guide was knowledgeable on the history & animals of Costa Rica. The boat captain navigated the river effortlessly and help spot snakes in the trees, sloths (2 & 3 toe), Jesus Christ lizards, plus plenty of other critters & plant life.
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. This was a priceless experience.

My 12 yo took the two hour surf lesson and had a great time. The instructor was fantastic. She took a few minutes to show him the basics on land and he was surfing in no time. Great consistent waves in Jacó. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to give it a shot.

Very difficult getting the location figured out. Went to scout it out the day before and initially they said we didn't have appt for the next day and sent us elsewhere. That place said no, so we went back and they said yes we had one but meeting place is at the beach at the hotel 9. We drove down there, couldn't find it so the boys started asking at all the surf lesson places on the beach. They foynd one that said yes it was the place. Next day, they went for the lesson but was told not on schedule. They adked again at the different places and one said yes. They had their lesson and was happy, however, we were to learn that it wasn't with the right group. I started getting phone calls and text messages from and it was bordering on harrassment, argument and forceful language about payment and they were waiting for us. Very disorganized and difficult to find them. Shame on them for this.

Me and my wife signed up for a lesson. I had surfed before but not much and my wife a newbie. John was our guide and I felt he did a great job. I asked for him to stay with my wife and I’ll do my own thing while taking direction. John did a great job of ensuring she had a great time while giving me pointers as I needed them. My wife was also highly afraid of being in the ocean but she felt safe in this area of the beach and with the other people out on the water. Now she is a convert and found surfing to be one of the highlights of our honeymoon. They also had a professional photographer taking pictures and using a drone to get great footage which allowed us to capture the great experience. We will do it again if we are in CR again.

What a perfect setting for surfing !!! Communication prior to arrival was great. (I Suggest downloading WhatsApp for cost free international texting) I had a terrific time starting with the greeting by one of the Surf Factory instructors showing me where to park in a gated courtyard. Nadine, who turned out to be the surfing photographer, was next and she introduced me to my instructor Amber.
Amber was very meticulous in letting me know what the plan was, giving safety instructions and walking me through on land how to walk the board through the waves, slide into the board, standing up, falling safely, etc. The wave action was not too bad for my newbie self and I was surprised how well I was able to do with Amber’s help in a short period of time.
The Surfing Factory has secure lockers to store your car keys and your change of clothes if you wish along with outside showers to rinse off. They also have rash guard surf shirts to borrow so you don’t have to get your own top wet.
The surfing photos (for a small fee) of me were an unexpected treat as I came by myself and did not know this option would be available.
I am inspired to continue my lessons when I return home to Florida.

The team at Surf Factory are all excellent! They confirmed ahead of time, met us on time, had free / secure parking right next to the beach. We were given 1 instructor per person for our family. Everyone got a great introductory lesson on the beach and then one-on-one instruction to get up on the board and surf! My kids are age 9, 12, and 15 and all had a great time! They came home surfers. The beach at Jaco is super soft sand, no rocks, great waves, just perfect for surfing. My husband who has had more experience surfing, got some great instruction and improved his technique. After the lesson you can rent surf boards or boogie boards for the day to stay and enjoy. There are restaurants on the beach close by too. I would definitely recommend the Surf Factory!! Enjoy!

Such a great surfing experience in Jaco! All the staff was friendly, the instructors were amazing! It was our family’s 3rd time surfing and we all had success!
