I highly recommend this hike. The waterfalls and pools are beautiful. We saw interesting frogs, lizards, plants, and butterflies. Be sure to wear hiking boots and light clothing as it is hot and strenuous at times. The house where lunch is served is amazing as well as the food. It's a perfect spot to admire the forest and relax. Our guides were excellent too.

This is the ONLY waterfall experience you should do in Jaco. Jorge, the owner of the land and the tour guide is amazing at what he does. You get to explore beautiful untouched forest and waterfalls, swim in the fresh clear water, and learn about the plants and animals. This was a big highlight of my trip. Thank you for sharing your beautiful land with us Jorge.

    Simply the best-hard stop.

This was the BEST experience we had in Costa Rica. Jorge, who is the owner, is kind, humble, endearing, knowledgable, and funny. Until we asked directly we were unsure he was the owner as well. Take aways: 1. Number one best experience hiking in Costa Rica, worth the hike 2. You will get wet-every inch of you. 3. Worth every dime!! 4. Should be in decent shape and be able to walk/climb steps well. The trip is at times exhausting. 5. Nature loving guide/local pride-just awesome. 6/5 STARS.

    Adventurous, challenging and fun

    Maxim_A, Mar 2026
The guides were very helpful once we were there, Charlie and Marlon. The only thing is that before we got there there was no detailed information online of the challenges, and no details on what to bring, such as the need for really good hiking shoes.

    Excellent

This is an excellent adventure, and the add-on lunch is a must-experience! It’s important to. understand that some parts of the hike will be physically demanding for some people. Dustin was an excellent tour guide! 10/10

    Fantastic experience!

Really great day! So beautiful and the pools of water were so refreshing. I would not recommend for small children, the hike was difficult at times and one wrong move could have been deadly. But it was a great time! I wore water shoes and it worked out great but was slippery in spots.

Great tour especially if you are in Jaco area, staying at Marriott Los Suenos.

    Aida_L, Mar 2026
Tour operators, Jorge and Dustin were very good, knowledgeable and attuned to group needs. Requires you to be in reasonably good physical condition as you will need to climb rocks, swim across waterfall pools and manage some taxing ascents while hiking uphill. Chose the lunch included option and it was very good! Wear sneakers that can get wet and then dry out, water shoes not great for hiking as very rocky. Take water.

    Waterfall tour

    Barbara_M, Mar 2026
This was an awesome experience for me. Charlie was amazing. Very informative. This is not just a hike there is climbing up steep narrow hills and involves rock climbing, sometimes steep. One of my family members had difficulty as there is heights involved. Charlie was so good with her. Lots of patience and really loves his job. Ware good sturdy footwear, flip flops will not do. Keens or hiking shoes that can get wet and has good grip. Very hot day so stay hydrated, lunch was very good. I loved the chicken. After lunch prepare for hike back to start.

    Great Tour!

    Jordan_C, Mar 2026
We had a great experience with this tour! Jorge was our guide and he was spectacular. He was very knowledgeable, kept us safe, and was even willing to hold our bags during the hike. This is not a hike that is able to be completed without a guide, so for the price it was 100% worth it! It was amazing to be able to see and swim in 10 different waterfalls. We did not have water shoes, but sneakers are perfectly fine as long as you are willing to have them be soaked by the end. The one thing I would say is that this is not a beginner level hike. There is intense climbing up the side of waterfalls that definitely requires being in decent shape.

    Must Do Experience!

We had an amazing time on this tour!! My children are still talking about it. Some difficult parts but Javier was there to always help and tell you were to step. My two youngest had a great time following Javier’s son. They were nervous at first but having someone there about their age gave them a confidence boost. The sights were beautiful! The lunch was one of the best food we had our entire trip! We’re so glad to have taken this tour.

We had an incredible time! It was a beautiful, exciting hike with so many swimming spots and waterfalls. One of the best I've done.

    So refreshing

    Genaye_T, Feb 2026
The hike was very scenic and was saw various waterfalls and natural pools. Some parts were a bit strenuous. I would highly recommend good sneakers/boots and definitely wear a bathing suit to enjoy the natural spring pools.

    Awesome tour!

    Carl_E, Feb 2026
This was a great tour! It was a highlight of our time in Costa Rica. Yes, you do need to be in moderately good shape and expect to be challenged as you do need to use ropes to pull yourself up rock formations, if afraid of heights I would avoid. Consider the time of year too, rainy season your walking through water chest high, much less so in the dry season. It was awesome! We enjoyed jumping into the pools from the waterfalls

    Best climb and hike ever!

    Tom_Z, Feb 2026
This is an exhilarating, fabulous hike and climb. Our guide Dustin was so knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife, and the plants. The climbing was a challenge at times, which made it even more exciting. You literally climb up the side of waterfalls on a rope. If you want a fabulous, learning, and unforgettable adventure, this is the place for you!

10 waterfall Excursion - Amazing but challenging!

    tannerj74, Feb 2026
First let me say that we truly enjoyed this excursion. It was a very physically demanding hike. I would really characterize it as more of a canyoning or canyoneering excursion. You will be using ropes to pull your body weight up pretty steeply angled rock faces at multiple locations. My smartwatch said that it was equivalent to 16 floors climbed and covered approximately 6 mi in total length. Would that said the waterfalls were beautiful and being able to swim in the natural pools was amazing. Our guide Jorge was amazing and he provided much assistance to a couple of the ladies who struggled in a couple of areas.

    New local, definitely coming back

    Ashley_M, Jan 2026
Literally so much fun! Please be adventurous and ready for an adrenaline filled hike. The tour guy was hilarious AND knowledge. We had all ages with us from 9 to late 60s and everyone made it pretty easily! Everyone was also was fit enough to climb.

Extremely fun and pleasant tour guides. They ensured our safety while insisting that we had fun. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to enjoy themselves!

    Adventure and learning

    Tonja_S, Jan 2026
This was the BEST excursion we did! Jorge was amazing and informative. We not only saw and learned about interesting plants we also saw the mist beautiful butterflies and a Macaw. The food is totally worth it. I strongly recommend this hike to anyone who wants adventure. You climb up rocks with ropes, swim or wade through pools and enjoy the rainforest with Jorges’ guidance

    Great. Waterfall trip

    Graham_h, Jan 2026
Excellent but intense physical activity Gorge and his team were excellent guides knowledgeable and helpful trip was as advertised

    Don’t underestimate this physical challenge

    Steve_S, Jan 2026
This was not an easy walk in the jungle. The pace was brisk and steeply uphill. You need to be able to swim and be able to pull yourself up slippery rocks with a well worn knotted rope. But the waterfalls, pools and scenery were great and well worth it

    Jaco 10 Waterfalls

    Nicole_L, Jan 2026
This was an amazing experience but one should be somewhat active since you will get a good workout. It involves hiking, climbing on rocks with and without ropes.

Prettiest Waterfalls & So Many Pools!

    Breanna, Jan 2026
I went solo with an experienced local & professional guide. Be sure to wear water shoes and bring a small dry bag. Also, be fit enough to hike up some hills (with a tad bit of rock climbing + rope). There were so many beautiful waterfalls and natural pools to swim in. Gorgeous. It's on private property, and worth the guided experience. I would recommend this to fit adults 18 - 50 years of age (kids should only join if they're brave and athletic).

Absolutely Spectacular (but more physically demanding than they ads may indicate)

    Kristiaan_A, Jan 2026
We did 4 different excursions through Viator during our (10) days in Jaco, Costa Rica. This tour was by far the best of them and one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The staff, especially our guide Marwin, were exceptional. The scenery and waterfalls were breathtaking. The food during and after the hike were fresh and delicious. The cane juice was the icing on the cake. I can’t point out a single negative about this trip. The meeting point is very close to Jaco Beach and an easy Uber ride to get there. That all said, the one thing the ad does not make clear is that this is a physically demanding tour. A certain level of mobility and fitness is definitely required as it involves hiking narrow pathways along steep ravines and climbing some steep rock faces in certain areas. And it’s all of 2 hours doing so. In the end, our entire party was able to do it and enjoyed it immensely; including my wife who still struggles with the after affects of a significant foot injury, my 8 and 12 y/o sons, and my in-laws who are both in their early 70s. But once again, be prepared. It’s definitely not just your basic beginner’s hike. Once again a special thanks to Marwin, who gave every bit of effort necessary to ensure my mother-in-law was able to feel safe and make it through the hike at her age, providing both encouragement and physical assistance throughout. He was wonderful with her, never left her side, and has made a lifelong friend whether he knows it or not.

    Amazing, hike and waterfalls

    Katherine_K, Dec 2025
Bring water shoes or tennis shoes you don’t mind getting soaked. You will be trekking through streams, waterfalls pools and possible some muddy areas. There is uphill trekking with some areas that have a rope for you to grab onto so you can pull yourself up as you travel deeper into the forest. The guides are super helpful and assist you. I’m not the strongest and the guides were all over it making sure I had help. This is not for the elderly or super weak individuals, there were kids on this and older folks. They served a wonderful lunch! I recommend this excursion but be prepared for I hike it’s beautiful!

Amazing waterfall hike with the lunch package. Awesome!

    Amy_R, Dec 2025
Amazing hike! The scenery was stunning. The lunch add on was absolutely delicious! There is definitely some physical activity needed, but I did fine at 60 YO. I was I initially worried due to some of the other reviews, but it was great. Amazing swimming in waterfall pools, excellent guide, and a perfect way to start off our Costa Rican experience!

It’s a beautiful hike but you will get wet so be sure to pack accordingly. The scenery was breathtaking and the guide was wonderful. It’s strenuous, but so worth it!

    Best hiking adventure

    Aimee_C, Nov 2025
This was definitely one of the more strenuous hikes I’ve been on, but to be fair, I’m a little out of shape! The trail itself is a good workout with some steep and rocky sections, but the waterfalls at the end make it 100% worth it. The views along the way are absolutely gorgeous, and you really feel like you’re in the middle of nature. Our guide was amazing as well as super patient and encouraging, helping us through the tougher parts of the trail. He even brought fresh pineapple for us to enjoy during breaks, which was such a nice touch. I’d definitely recommend this experience to anyone looking for an adventure and who doesn’t mind getting a little sweaty. Just make sure to bring plenty of water, good hiking shoes, and maybe a towel for after the swim!
