Take your pick of a morning or afternoon tour, and meet your guides at the main office in central Jaco. Bring your camera, which will be kept in a dry bag to keep it safe but handy for action shots. Ride a 4x4 up rugged mountain roads to reach the trail head at an elevation of more than 2,000 feet (610 meters). From here, hike into the rain forest to a river, while your guide points out native plant and animal life along the way.
At the river, you can choose to walk along a trail or put your balancing skills to the test and hike upriver along rocks and boulders. Pass by more than 10 different waterfalls of varying size that flow into inviting natural swimming pools. Take a dip in the pools, and feel the relaxing, massaging rush of water while standing beneath the cascades.
For an added thrill, work up the bravery to jump from natural ledges down 20 feet (6 meters) into the polls below. Your guide will be on hand to ensure your safety and enjoyment each step of the way. The 4-hour adventure concludes with drop-off back at the starting point in Jaco.

Great time! Wilson and Joshua were excellent guides! We had a great breakfast with Shirley and then enjoyed all the information on the rainforest flora and fauna. The falls were great and everyone took a few big jumps!

Will require some physical endurance, especially when raining. A lot of slippery areas. But very fun and the tour guide was knowledgeable . The couple that was also on the tour was awesome and great people. Great choice for sure. Kudos to JOSUE (Josh).

Wow, what a great experience we had. Our guide, Josue, was just the best. He went over and above. When my wife lost her eyeglasses he dove to the bottom and found them! We couldn't believe it. We had the falls all to ourselves. An authentic Costa Rican home cooked lunch was included. It was one of the best things that we were able to do while we were visiting Costa Rica. One thing to note is the pick us is at the Jaco Walk plaza and you get picked up at the bus stop area. Pura Vida!

This was our first excursion, day one of Costa Rica… and let me tell you!! Wow, it was truly incredible. I would recommend this again and again. Lomar, our guide, was seriously so awesome. He was so knowledgeable about the plants, bugs, and animals in the area, and that wasn’t even the coolest part! Lomar led us through the rainforest to the most beautiful private waterfalls. Our small group of 8 were the only people on this trail. Lomar also took the best photos of us, he knew all the great spots for videos and pictures and could be a professional photographer lol. He was super encouraging when we got to the grand finale, the *optional* cliff jump. This was an excursion of a lifetime. Never seen so much beauty before.
Two things to note:
1. The trip started with a homemade lunch, which I didn’t need noted in Viator. I had only the plantains (which were amazing). They also had sweet tea and a mixed rice.
2. The road to the trailhead is super bumpy. We weren’t on the type of 4x4 I was imagining we would be, more of a truck bed (of a big truck) with two benches on the sides. The road again is super bumpy and Lomar was an excellent driver, just a little speedy over the bumps. Hang on tight! :-)
Amazing experience, excellent service. Recommend a thousand times over.

We had such a fabulous time! Our guides, Josh and Lamar were informative, entertaining, and fun. Kids had a blast and so did the parents. Highly recommend if you like to have excitement.

This was an amazing experience. Our guide, Josh, was awesome as well. From the time we started the tour to the end, Josh was friendly, polite and gave us lots of information about the animals and forest. He even spotted a tiny Poison Dart frog that was so interesting. Josh’s English is excellent and that certainly was a bonus for us due to our limited Spanish.
I would definitely recommend this tour as you get the opportunity to see a truly beautiful area of Costa Rica and the waterfalls are spectacular. It is an experience we will never forget. Thank you, Josh and Viator!

Great family adventure starting with a typical lunch in a village followed by a ride up the mountains, hike through the Forest, swimming in waterfalls and jumping into deep pools from various heights. The crew was entertaining and my kids had a blast.

Fantastic excursion!! Lomar and Wilson were amazing. Funny, thoughtful, knowledgable, complimentary, and kind, the entire time. Lomar used my phone to take pictures and videos the whole time so that we could all enjoy the tour, I couldn't believe it, such a nice touch.
Breakfast beforehand was unexpected and delicious. And, the family dogs were cute and friendly, and so much fun.

The waterfalls tour was absolutely amazing. The waterfalls were relaxing and just what we needed for our vacation. Tour guides Joaquin and Lomar were unbelievable! They focused on safety but more so having a great time. The tour started with a local Costa Rican breakfast and Joaquin/ Lomar gave us a history lesson as we navigated the mountains. Must do for all tourists! The Waterfall is definitely a hidden gem! Highly recommended if you are in the Jaco area.

Lomar, our guide, was fun, knowledgeable and friendly! While driving on a twisty mountain road he was able to point out specific birds, plants, and other flora/fauna of amazement and interest! The hike was physically challenging and the waterfalls, jungle hike and jumps into pools were excellent! A great experience overall!

Really, what Costa Rica is all about. The trip started with a small Costa Rican breakfast, freshly prepared by a local family. Joaquin, then took us up the mountain on a 4 wheel truck with an observation platform on the back. We were able to see all kinds of wildlife and vegetation indigenous to the area. We then hiked to the series of waterfalls. Great pictures and great fun. Joaquin was truly representative of almost all of the local Ticos that we met, just wonderful, kind people with a great sense of humor.

We loved the adventure. The guides Wilson and Lomar were amazing. Anyone can do this once in a lifetime experience. We had my 84 year old mother and she did fine. The lunch was delicious. So fresh and tasty. The hike to the waterfall was interesting with so many things to see and the guides provided a lot of great naturalist information. The waterfalls were so refreshing. The pictures we took are so breath taking. And the cliff jumping was a key highlight. Do this trip! You will love it.

Loved learning about the different plants on the tour. Cristian is so friendly and knowledgeable we felt like we have known him our whole lives. The breakfast was amazing with traditional food that is very hard to find in Jaco. The water was so refreshing to swim in and jump into. We saw colorful animals that we would have never saw if Cristian didn’t point them out to us. Since no one else booked the same day/time, we had our own private tour. It was amazing and I would 100% recommend everyone do this tour.

This was a great trip and a very easy hike compared to other waterfall trips in the area. The guide was very informative on the hike - he pointed out many different plants and animals. The lunch was very tasty and included a vegetarian option. Lots of opportunities for photos and diving!

Really enjoyed this. Have done similar trips in other parts of the world so thought I'd give it a try here. The guides were really good, very friendly, happy to answer questions and have a laugh and a joke. You don't need to be particularly fit for the short trek, but it's somewhat slippery (obviously!) Near the waterfalls, so bring appropriate footwear.

Lamar was a wonderful guide. He was a great communicator with a calm demeanor, made the whole outing easy to enjoy. The scenery is breathtaking, and hiking and swimming around the waterfalls was a once in a lifetime experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

What an amazing adventure this was. Our guide Lamar was amazing and very knowledgeable with the local fauna. He took amazing care of us and was also a great photographer and took pics for us at all the waterfalls! The lunch stop with arroz con pollo and fresh fried plantains was also very good! Definitely recommend this adventure to others!
