- All ATV/Rhino Tours will require that a credit card (Visa or Mastercard only) voucher be taken and kept on file until the vehicle is returned in the same condition in which it was rented. Once the vehicle has been returned safely to our shop in the same condition in which it was rented, your voucher will either be returned to you, or destroyed on the spot, whichever you prefer. You must bring the required number of credit cards with you to Adventure Tours Costa Rica on the day of your ATV/Rhino tour. The number of credit cards required for your ATV Tour with us are as follows: 1 - 4 vehicles -1 card with a hold of $1000 5 – 8 vehicles - 2 cards with hold of $1000 each 9 – 12 vehicles – 3 cards with a hold of $1000 each.
- Recommended to Bring: Closed-toed shoes (tennis shoes, etc), Clothes you can get dirty (shorts/t-shirts), Swimsuits, Sunscreen, Bug spray (though not necessary)
- Children under 4 years old can't ride
- Will be operated by a multi-lingual guide (Spanish and English)
- Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately
- Trail conditions and rider ability may alter routes; therefore any features described herein may not be available for each tour. Please speak directly with your guide on the day of your tour for an up-to-date description of the expected route, as conditions can change on a daily basis.
- Minimum drinking age in Costa Rica is 18 years
- No flip flops, sandals, or open-toed shoes
- ATV drivers must be 16 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license
- Unlicensed participants and children under 16 must ride as passengers
- The number of ATV passengers in your group may not outnumber the ATV drivers
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travelers

So fun! Our guide was great and we enjoyed getting to know him. I think the price is very fair for this activity. I only wish we had done the longer one so we could have had more time! It was very fun driving the ATVs and splashing through puddles

If you have not done ATV ride, the two hour tour is ideal for you (it was our first).
It would have made the first 15-20 min more enjoyable if the 4 wheel drive option was selected by our guide.

A fun ride up mountains and across streams. The drawback for me was they took you to redesigned views without letting you stop along the way if there was a picture you wanted to take.

Awful experience, I’ve rented and rode ATV’s in nearly every country I visited. I’ve also booked through Viator numerous times. Where they did mention a visa or Mastercard to be shown when you rent the ATV they failed to mention it is $1,000 deposit per person. So in turn that discouraged the group being as though that has never been a thing and not everyone was willing to dish out $1,000. In return, I just want a refund and it’s been challenging.

Sorry for the confusion on the damage deposit. It is actually a verification of funds. We verify $1000 for every five vehicles that are taken out.

Good value and fun experience for the novice ATV driver. Highlight was stopping at the canopy bar at the top of the mountain. Phenomenal views and tasty frosty adult beverages!

What a fun experience! This was my first time on an ATV and I would definitely do it again! Our guide was attentive and took us to different spots. It was a cloudy day so instead of going all the way up to the mountain, we went part way up, then back to the beach. Our guide also took pictures of our group to capture the memories!

This ATV adventure was so awesome! The views at the top of the mountain were amazing. The waterfall stop was so much fun. We had time to jump into the water multiple times. Our guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable, patient and never rushed us. The trail we were on was beautiful with the trail going through dirt/rock, water, forest, mud, up/down, and more. Do it. You won’t regret.

Juan was an awesome tour guide! We went through lots of mud and water and even through a little town. There were beautiful views along the whole way and he stopped for a few photo ops. We had a ton of fun! Pura Vida!

This ATV ride was a great part of the Costa Rica Visit. I highly suggest that anyone coming to Jaco book this ATV ride. The views were amazing and the price was good. Jorge and Johnathan were great guides. We even stopped to take pictures . All in all a great experience.

If you’re an experienced ATV rider I would NOT recommend this tour. You’re stuck behind a guide going very slow. There is no mud or water. Don’t be deceived by the cover photo. You will not go through a jungle river like the photo. You go through some back roads and dirt roads but no mud, water, or jungle.

We certainly do go through rivers and mud, but that is dictated by trail conditions and the riding ability of the weakest person in the group. If you go out again, you might want to pay the extra money and do the private tour. That way, other riders would not slow you down. Our guide Alex met us. We watched a brief video and safety and we were on our way. The whole process took between 5-8 minutes. My husband and I have done ATV a total of 4 times and this was by far the best yet. Alex took us safely up and down the mountain where we saw some amazing views, we asked him quiet a few questions and he was able to answer all of them. He stopped to point out a toucan. We made 2 stops with great views and ended with our last stop at the beach. He made a video of us and took lots of photos. Our tour was amazing and the price reasonable. Please tip on your way out, we sure did

Our tour guide, Alex, was an amazing instructor and patient person. We first were taught how to use an ATX from Alex and then navigated the busy streets of Jaco until we went out into the wilderness. Once out here, we did some crazy stuff, such as, going up and down mountains, driving through knee deep water, and seeing same special birds, which Alex spotted while we were driving! This trip culminated with a view from a mountain top far away from the city. Even though it was listed as 2 hours, it felt so much longer because we were having a blast. I highly recommend this tour and I highly recommend that you go with Alex!
