This was definitely a fun...

Erika_J, Mar 2026
This was definitely a fun hands on experience if you LOVE chocolate like we do. The entire experience and the presentation was interactive. You will literally taste raw cocoa fruit and roast and grind, in addition to learning the history of one of the world’s favorite foods; in addition to making your own chocolate bar to take home. Great for school age 8+. The kids in our session seemed to enjoy it very much. The presenter was amazing, bilingual, fun and patient with all the guests. I would definitely skip if you have small children or toddlers.

A Deliciously Fun Experience!

Lora_M, Mar 2026
Visiting the ChocoMuseo Antigua was such a fun and flavorful experience! Learning about the rich history of chocolate in Antigua Guatemala — from ancient cacao traditions to modern treats — made every bite even more meaningful. Getting to make our own chocolate bars from scratch was hands-on and memorable, and tasting three different cacao drinks gave us a whole new appreciation for the depth of flavor cacao can offer. Meeting new friends along the way and having such a knowledgeable, engaging teacher, Diana, made the class even sweeter! It was the perfect blend of history, creativity, and delicious fun!

Delicious Chocolate!

Great fun and learned a lot about CHOCOLATE!!

Andrew_S, Feb 2026
Great fun and learned a lot about chocolate! Diana , our hostess/guide was great! She quickly introduced herself then went around the room asking our names. We had 3 young ladies from the Netherlands, 4 people from Great Britain, 4 people from Ohio and two additional ladies (sorry, forgot where they were from) Diana started the presentation and clearly talked about cacao beans and the trees and the several different types. She then cut a cacao pod open and we actually got to try a raw bean. At one point in the demonstrations she went around the counter we were sitting at and remembered everyone’s name!! Impressive!! We got to help roast some beans, shell them, crush them and proceeded to make tea and hit chocolate! We also made our own candy bars with some freshly made chocolate that was already prepared! Everyone seemed to agree it was a great time and all learned a lot! I’d highly recommend this experience if your at all interested in chocolate!!

Teacher was great, class was informative and engaging! Would recommend to anyone in Antigua looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Pleasant way to spend a few hours

Lucy_L, Jan 2026
Really nice leader Diana .. with some fun activity but we started with decorating a chocolate bar and worked backwards to understand how it was made so didn’t really feel like I had done a workshop … but interesting and informative

Quite the tourist trap!

LuisFernando_C, Jan 2026
Don’t come to this “tour “expecting a real learning experience, you will get a lot of fantasy and conjecture about the history of Chocolate and some very inaccurate information about its origins, among other. The uncomfortable interactive dynamic only adds to the overall “Disney-want-to-be” quality of the experience.

Fun and sweet experience

Katie_C, Dec 2025
ChocoMuseo was great. I booked a workshop the day I arrived in Guatemala. Unfortunately it took a while to get from the airport to Antigua. The staff were very caring and let me reschedule to another day. When I went the energy was very upbeat. Our teacher explained how the Mayans used chocolate. We made a chocolate bar that we could take home at the end. There was also a chance to try cacao tea and other delicious drinks. There were 8 of us including a family. The teacher made the whole experience a lot of fun and I’m glad I did it. I also bought some items to take home from the shop.

Wonderful family experience

Rebecca_G, Dec 2025
We loved the experience! Diana was fantastic and kept our kids (6 and 8) highly engaged even with them being the only younger ones in our group. Would definitely recommend to others.

Fun and Hands-on Chocolate Workshop

Jonathan_K, Dec 2025
The Bean to Bar workshop at the Choco Museum was such a fun way to spend two hours in Antigua. It’s a small, interactive session where you learn about the chocolate‑making process and then get to create your own chocolate bar with a great range of toppings. You can take your bar home at the end, which is a lovely bonus. The small group size made it easy to ask questions and get involved and the whole experience felt relaxed and enjoyable. There are only two workshops a day, so it’s definitely worth booking ahead to secure a spot. There’s also a shop and café attached, which is perfect if you want to pick up gifts or enjoy something sweet afterwards. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun, creative activity in Antigua.

This was a fun experience. We loved our guide and she made it interesting. Can’t beat making and eating chocolate!

The best Chocolate experience so far!!

Ako_P, Dec 2025
This was an amazing experience, we’ve been to chocolate tours in Costa Rica but this one is special because make your own bars to take with you and they show you how to make tea with the cocoa shells and then we made hot chocolate “Aztec” style. Great community event, you get to know others in the group in an immersive experience, we’ll definitely come back ❤️

Super fun afternoon. It was really interesting sampling the different stages in chocolate and trying chocolate-based drinks. Bonus - you actually learn what a mosquito is good for.

My favorite interactive experience in Guatemala!

Mesille_M, Nov 2025
Learned a lot about chocolate, it's origin, history, and agriculture. Really enjoyed the hands on experience with roasting, peeling, and grinding cacao beans that we ended up using for tea and hot chocolate. The instructor, Diana, made the whole experience fun and enjoyable with her sense of humor. My favorite class I took during my trip in Guatemala.

Loved this class! It was super entertaining and interactive throughout. I learned so much about the chocolate making process - trivia worthy facts! The host Diana was amazing! Also the chocolate is delicious! I did this as a solo traveler and it was nice meeting other solo travelers because we became fast friends! I definitely recommend this tour!

A fun way to spend an afternoon

Daniela_K, Sep 2025
Jocelyn was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about chocolate and the entire process. She worked to keep us engaged the entire time and I learned so much. We got to walk away with some great chocolate and she was kind enough to give me and my father free (and very delicious) cake for our birthday. Really fun experience.
