I absolutely loved this tour!! Nehemías was a fantastic tour guide—super friendly, informative, and helpful. He always made sure we felt comfortable and even took amazing photos of us. This tour is a great way to see areas around the lake that you might not get to explore on foot. It was easily one of my favorite parts of my trip to Guatemala, and I would 100% recommend it!

Overview

Discover the Lake Atitlan area on this half-day ATV adventure. First, head to San Antonio Palopo via the road that runs around the lake. There, visit a local ceramic factory to learn about the production process and also stop by a chocolate factory. Following that, travel to the village of Santa Catarina Palopo where you'll be able to learn about and see the weaving of blankets, and other goods. Lastly, head to Playa Blanca en Barrio Jucanya for some photo opps by the water.

Our ATV experience was top notch. I give credit to our guide, Pedro. He was very knowledgeable and made sure to follow all safety protocols to make sure we had an amazing time but in a safe manner. We got to see many sites and explore the different cities along Lake Atitlan. I highly recommend this tour, and if you get Pedro as your guide you are a lucky person!

Very fun atv ride with a small group. We visited two villages. The first village had a stop at a cafe, and the second village had stops at a chocolate shop, a pottery shop, and a fabric shop. Our guide was kind and patient. The only negative aspect was that we didn’t know ahead of time that our 17 year old had to be a passenger and wasn’t allowed to drive his own atv. That was disappointing as he was the one who had picked the atv as his activity of choice and then wasn’t able to drive it. Just be aware of that if you have any underage teens!

This ATV tour was awesome! As a first-time ATV rider, I was pretty nervous, but all my worries vanished thanks to our incredible guide, Nemy. He led our group on a perfectly paced, safe tour—never going too fast and always being super cautious, especially around the windy curves. The route itself is fantastic. A pro tip: bring a small bag or backpack for any souvenirs or goodies you pick up along the way. A friendly reminder: Please remember to tip your tour guides! They work incredibly hard to provide this amazing experience, and it’s a meaningful way to show your appreciation. Only con is it was a bit challenging to find the tour meeting point.

Good for first time ATV riders - very easy trip. It’s simple and you get some interesting stops. If you really want a unique and fun experience, pick the Pacaya trip with the same company instead - that is far more of an experience.

This tour was stunning! It was my second ATV tour with simoon rentals and I have so much fun each time riding the ATV’s. I got lucky that it was just me on the tour, and my tour guide Yeshua was amazing, he made the experience fun and relaxing and brought me around to some gorgeous places. The weather was amazing and the energy was beautiful. I’m very sad to be leaving Guatemala but I’ll absolutely be back and will be doing another ATV tour the next time as well.
