Not your usual tour, as we walked the guide (sorry can’t remember his name) told us stories of the Medici family dating back to the 14th century to current times. We learned so much history in a short period of time. The guide was local and was ever passionate about the city. Would highly recommend this tour. Also it’s a pay what you want tour so win/win

The experience was amazing! The guide who escorted us on the bus was fantastic,.his name is Aaron with caf tours in Florence as well the driver, Enrico. We got lost atvsome point and Aaron was so polite and supportive. The guided tour in Siena was also really good, full of information and fhe ancient spirit of the town. We would definitely recommend this tour if you don't have a lot of time to see Tuscany

Looking for a great day-trip experience?

It was a wonderful day! We hade 56 people in our group, and so much could have gone wrong. However, it went so smoothly because Nathan was very organized, knowledgeable, and detailed. He provided us with ear-coms so that we could hear his instructions when were stuck in the back of the group or when we were separated on the train. He kept us well-informed by setting up a chat group for our specific group for the day. His Dad-jokes kept us entertained when we would have otherwise been bored on the bus. He also provided very helpful tips and tricks throughout the excursion. He even taught us how to take better photos and videos with our phones. I definitely recommend booking with City Wonders and Nathan.

Cinque Terrre (with hiking) was a great day trip from Florence. Our guides for the day were Coco and Angie, and they were very attentive and informative! They were very clear with their directions and answered all questions asked. They were both very friendly and pleasant, and kept us company throughout the day. Would totally recommend this tour! Just bring cash for potential boat transportation and lunch.

Overall the Experience...

Overall the Experience was worth it. A day prior, the tour company (“Things to do in”) sent a message through Viator message with a detailed instruction list on the meeting place. It recommends you to meet at the meeting point about 15 minutes early for check in, distribution of headsets and physical tickets. Also in the message a link for Google Maps or IOS directs you to the exact door to stand in front of. The same message was then resent early morning to remind you. Once started there is a separate queue for the group that takes about 10-15 min for security and ticket scans. Martina was a knowledgeable tour guide and explained the history on the eras of art. She also emphasized certain pieces that were significant to Florence. Other than the main attraction she emphasized on the importance of the other sculptures done by Michelangelo. Once the tour guided portion was completed you were allowed to roam around the museum to look at other pieces that you did not get a chance to see.

A great family tour

Excellent guide. I liked that he focused on some key paintings and provided context on how to look at them. Our family group ranged in age from 14 to 83, with different levels of exposure to art. We all enjoyed the tour and learned a lot. In past times, my husband and I had been to the Uffizi several times without a guide and we tried to see as much as possible, but this, more focused visit was more valuable.

Cinque Terre and Pisa are worth the time to visit!

In the spring, be prepared for cool to warm weather. Get a cappuccino and cornetto from the food station before your departure, so yummy! Wear sunblock is you don't want a little sun kiss. Bring a collapsible shopping bag over a backpack. Have a few 1€ coins for public toilet. Don't forget to get the train ticket package. Be willing to put your toes in the ocean. Buy the scarf or linen outfit. The train experience was such fun! If you get Jon Marco, you won't be disappointed! When you return, the taxi stand is just in front of the train station, so convenient!

Wine tour

It was very nice. The tour guide told stories about the area while driving. It was an hour and a half ride out but she only talked at the beginning giving people time to enjoy a quiet ride. The wine locations were very nice. The host at Grace winery did a fantastic job telling about the vineyards and wine business. And I loved the set up in both locations where they did the tastings.

Wine, Dine and have fun

Our bus driver Leo was fantastic and gave us a little history about the Tuscany area and Chianti. The three wineries were all slightly different and the folks there were also very lovely and gave us tons of info and answered all questions. Definitely do a full day tour if you have the time!

Great trip!

Excellent experience.... loved this day trip! San Gimignano was my favorite and would have loved more time there. Also...take the umbrella or poncho... you never know when they'll be a downpour on a 0% chance rain day. 😂 You ARE allowed to leave things on the bus, so you won't have to carry them around every stop.

Easy half day tour of Cathedral and tower of Pisa

After meeting our guide it was a seamless experience traveling by bus and then walking to the town square of Pisa. The cathedral was breathtaking! Our guide even had storage lockers preserved for our bags while we climbed the leaning bell tower. We had adequate free time to continue exploring on our own and to take more pictures. We arrived on schedule back to Florence. Highly recommend for a half day trip from Florence!
