Alberto was so friendly, funny and kind! He was so informative during our 2 hour drive to. cinque Terre. He told us about the wineries, white marble, sunflowers, farms, acquaducts…. Everything we passed on our drive. He was very clear with instructions on where to meet and pointed out exceptional spots for the beautiful views of the colorful villages. He even score us the balcony table at. Cliffside restaurant in Vernazza. I highly recommend this tour!

we paid extra to be picked up at our hotel by our driver. We had to leave early so it was worth it. The trip was fantastic. Our driver was great. Loved every minute of it.
Really enjoyed the experience. Friendly and knowledgeable guide. Nice vans with Internet access and we had mobile spots while walking. Scenery was great.
Diana was wonderful as she booked a table for us at a lovely restaurant with the best table outside and at the end of the day surprised us with some champagne 🍾!
We just loved Cinque Terre! The tour was exceptional and the timing across the day was perfect. Claudius was an outstanding driver and guide. Definitely ask for him.
Marco, our guide was amazing! From pickup to drop off and all the knowledge and care in between he was a top notch guide! The beauty of the areas visited really speaks for themselves but the arrangements and information provided by Marco were phenomenal. We traveled by Mercedes Sprinter Van to the first village of Riomaggiore, we enjoyed the beauty of this lovely village for around an hour then onward by train to Manarola. Spent some time enjoying the uniqueness of this village then traveled by ferry to the next village of Vernazza. We spent a couple of hours here, enjoying some lunch and sightseeing, before taking the train back to Riomaggiore. Cinque Terra is a stunning area, our trip was complemented by a great guide providing great insight and care as we traveled along. Marco provided interesting info about the towns along the way as we made our way to Pisa . After an approx hour stop to take the obligatory ‘holding the tower up’ photo 😂😃, we made our way back home to Firenze.
Marco was great, and the arrangements were seamless. This has been our favorite excursion up to now!
Marco, our tour guide was EXCELLENT. He was informative, helpful, patient and lots of fun!! His recommendations were spot-on.
Claudius was a fantastic tour guide! The beauty he showed us & the knowledge he bestowed upon us was incredible. Be sure to book the semi-private tour, the van with only 8 guests was comfortable and was just the right size group. Claudius provided radion transmitters & head-sets for all. There was quite a bit of walking and it involved uphill paths. Claudius gave us great guidance to the most picturesque views and spectacular walkways to use. There is plenty of opportunity to shop and enjoy the food. Be prepared to use many modes of transportation, we traveled by vehicle, trains & boat. All was worthwhile and Claudius made all arrangements for train tickets and passage on & off ferries. This was a tremendous value for the experience received. It was a long day but worth every minute!!
Gabrielle was perfect. He was so attentive and customized our stops and needs. Reacted to unforseen situations and made sure everyone was satisfied. Great driver, helpful information at every step
This trip was incredible! We traveled in a nice van with another couple of. The towns were so beautiful and should not be missed! It was a long day but totally worth it.
The day trip to Cinque Terre was wonderful. A long day, but totally worth it. Diana, our guide, was so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
A good way to get to see the area in one day. Our driver provided facts about the area during the drive and was available throughout the day for questions or recommendations. It’s nice having someone to take care of the train and ferry tickets so you can enjoy exploring the villages. Pick and drop was nice and smooth. Air conditioned van was nice given the heat.
Super fun day trip! We took the train and the ferry between the towns and it totally saved us from the brutal heat! Our driver David was also really sweet and knowledgeable. He even recommended a great resturant for lunch in Vernazza. The stop on the way back in pisa has nothing but a leaning tower and you can skip it if the leaning tower is not on your bucket list.
Diana was our tour guide and she was incredible. Diana made the tour so “tourist friendly.” Meeting points we easy to find. Diana also even suggested a lunch spot for us and we asked her if she wanted to eat with us. She even translated the menu and ordered for us to ease any stress. Be prepared, this is A LOT of walking both up and down hill. I cannot express - be prepared to walk.
This is a great way to experience a little of Cinque Terre from Florence. Our guide David was great. We had a wonderful time.
Lots of walking and exploring. Stunning views. Very seasoned guide. Andrea was very knowledgeable and made the trip so pleasant! I would definitely recommend! Saw a lot!
stress free experience, totally beats taking transit or a large coach. you load up in the Mercedes van early in the morning and your guide handles the rest. once you arrive in the region its fairly self guided with the only caveat being a predetermined meet point and time.
our guide, Giancarlo was wonderful and I would 100% recommend this to anyone who wants a stress free travel experience.
This trip is not for people who have difficulty walking or who tire easily. The drive is comfortable and Andrea the tour guide was excellent! He told us about all the little towns we passed on our way there and the history of the area. Cinque Terre is beautiful. Lots of good photo opportunities. Probably didn’t need 50 minutes in Pisa.
The tour was great, our tour operator Andrea was fantastic. Highly recommend doing this, however you really need to be fit as there is lots of staircases and hills to walk up.
We had a great Cinque Terra and Pisa day trip with Truescany. The team was on top of every detail early on, including meet up point, tour guide details, what to expect etc. Our guide GianCarlo was very nice and professional. He had a pleasant and helpful demeanor and kept providing all the important information about the place. He pretty much was with us during train and boat rides, making all logistics very smooth. Overall this day tour became the highlight of our Italy trip.
It was wonderful. Our guide Andrea was amazing, knowledgeable and had a sense of humor! Swimming in Mediterranean Sea was priceless Lots of walking uphill!
Gabrielle was brilliant. It was a beautiful day with lots of free time but also a great experience!!
Our driver and guide Claudius was fun and enthusiastic . We learned a lot about the Cinque Terre region, its history, enjoyed the beautiful scenery, a nice soak in the water, and some local food.
Yes, it was a long hot day, but Diana, our tour guide and driver was superb. Our three stops in Cinque Terre were truly fabulous and we had a lovely lunch (at our expense). It was a wonderful trip. As for the Tower of Pisa, I found it less interesting and very commercial with a lot of hawkers.
Very disappointing. The tour guide’s first words to us after we were seated in the van were “You will have to excuse my voice since I have a cold”. This when we were to spend the next 12 hours with him. He coughed regularly throughout the day. He gave us very little information while we were on the trip, either about the area we were traveling through or about the areas we visited. The listening devices we were provided were useless, even if he had been speaking, because they were full of static and interference.
The promised boat tour did not happen, presumably because of sea conditions. We spent far too much time waiting for trains to take the place of the boat tour but the only explanation we got was “the boat is not available”.
When we got to Pisa, the guide parked the van and told us to meet him there in 45 minutes. No information about the attractions, history, tickets, etc was given.
We felt like we got a ride to the towns and almost nothing else of value. When we complained to the company, they gave us a partial refund of the cost of the tour.
We could have found a less expensive way to get transportation or have found a guided tour that provided information as well as transportation.
My advice: don’t waste your time and money on this tour.

Dear Douglas, thank you for sharing your feedback — even when critical, reviews like yours help us reflect and improve.
We are sorry your day did not meet your expectations. As we discussed with you directly, our guide unfortunately woke up unwell that morning. With an early departure, a last-minute replacement was not possible — something we acknowledged openly and for which we offered a sincere apology.
Regarding the ferry: the boat service at Riomaggiore, Manarola, and Vernazza operates from small exposed rock landings — not proper harbors. When sea conditions cause wave motion, the navigation company suspends boarding at those stops for passenger safety. This is entirely outside our control and is clearly disclosed on our booking page. The train connection is the standard alternative and was used as intended.
We take your feedback about commentary quality and the audio devices seriously — these are areas where we hold ourselves to a high standard, and on this occasion that standard was not fully met. We addressed your concerns directly through our customer service channels and worked with you to find a resolution.
We are proud of the hundreds of guests who travel with us each year and return home with wonderful memories of Tuscany and the Cinque Terre. We remain committed to delivering the experience we promise — informative, personal, and memorable.
The Truescany Team
David was really nice, but he was under the weather and completely lost his voice by the end of the day. He distributed radio devices and headsets so we could hear him better, but the quality was really static-y, and we couldn’t hear him well through that, either. It was nice to have the tour company take care of the logistics of getting from Florence to Cinque Terre and between each of the towns, but we often felt rushed at each stop. That could have also been because our tour started late because there was a mixup with the van, and they had to go get a different one. I wish we would’ve been able to learn more about the towns and what we were seeing along the way, but David seemed to be less effective because of his illness. While I appreciate that he worked despite less than ideal circumstances, the company probably should’ve substituted drivers for the day because I feel we didn’t get the full experience we paid for — and I’m concerned we may also end up with the same sickness from being in an enclosed space with a guide who was coughing all day.
Lapo was a very good tour guide. He was knowledgeable and very friendly. The scenery was breathtaking and there was plenty of time at each location. Lapo also assisted with setting up a lunch reservation - one less thing to worry about.
Awesome experience! The tour was well organized, smooth, and overall awesome. Our guide, Giancarlo, was also great. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to see Cinque Terre in a day and have all of the planning taken care of!
Our tour guide was very kind, however, I think he could have made this tour a little better by offering more insight. He took us to some nice spots, however, did not take us to the main popular viewpoints that I would have wanted to see. He could have pointed them out or made us aware of them and I would have happily walked to them. In Riomaggiore, he took us to a courtyard overlooking the water, but you couldn’t see much of the buildings which is one of the best parts in my opinion. The real viewpoint was right around the corner where you have a view of the bright and colorful buildings with the water. It was in so many of the tour photos so I thought we would be walking together there as a group. We only went to the courtyard and then went directly to the train to go to the next village. There was a viewpoint he took us to right by the train station but not nearly as pretty as the viewpoint in front of Riomaggiore would have been. In Manarola, I wish our tour guide would have informed us of the view from the top of the cliff side. I would have gladly walked up the hill for the view, but didn’t realize it until it was too late as we had to meet up for the boat ride to Vernazza. In Vernazza, our tour guide suggested a certain restaurant, but didn’t mention the expensive cover charge for eating there. Just would have been nice to know in advance. Overall, it was nice to be picked up and be taken around the villages without having to navigate on our own, but I am just sad that I missed the viewpoints I wanted to see the most. Maybe I should have gotten more clarity on my end, but I just thought our tour guide would have let us know.
This was a highlight of our trip to Italy! Marco picked us up from the meeting point at 7am and off we went. Only instead of silence in the van for the drive, which we shared with three other lovely travelers, he taught us all about the towns we passed so that by the end of the day we had seen and learned so much more than expected!! What a delightful tour to see Italy by car, train and ferry! Truly fabulous. Cinque Terre is beautiful and magical and a spot not to be missed. Marco got us safely to the three villages and then gave us 1-2 hours to explore on our own the shops, cafes and even beaches! We went in the water at all three places and climbed to the top of towers and sat in cafes by the marina. Something for everyone. The villages are as beautiful and picturesque as post cards. Do not miss this tour!! Pisa was also so neat to see - we had about 45 minutes and though we didn’t choose to climb the leaning tower, we toured the town and had gelato after taking pictures of it and the cathedral. It was a LOT of walking so wear comfortable shoes and light clothing if visiting in the summer. And bring a backpack with a bathing suit and towel and sunscreen to take advantage of small coves and beaches to cool off. Can’t thank Marco enough for these memories. He was personable, professional, passionate, knowledgeable, patient, proactive (even booked us a table at an outdoor cafe where we all chose to eat together and it was perfect!), and so eager to please. What an asset he is to this tour company.
An amazing day!!! Probably the best day of our entire trip! It is well organized and our guide, Diana, was just the right amount of a guide and knew when to leave us be and let us explore! Such a beautiful corner of Italy!!
