The tour provider was Rabbie's Tours. Our guide/driver was Kylie. She had a lovely Scottish accent, was easy to understand and had a great sense of humor. She provided lots of history and narrative but also welcomed questions and interaction with the passengers. The small group bus held 16 passengers, and the rows are set up in a 1-2 format. We were among the last on the bus so didn't get to sit together. Unfortunately, the rain put a damper on our stop in Anstruther and for a while in St Andrews. We were prepared with slickers and umbrellas and made the best of it. After a quick drive-by orientation we had about 2 hours in St Andrews. We were able to get some great photos of the golf course and university. Kylie made sure we knew where the best fish and chips could be found. The last stop was Falkland where many of us chose to tour the palace which had been a royal hunting lodge centuries ago. The palace has several restored rooms and some beautiful gardens.

Nick was an incredibly lively storyteller and really made this tour come alive. The whole thing was very thorough, and very spooky. We were so intrigued by the history that we popped over to a nearby bookstore looking for more information about the vaults, but found that Nick's tour covered almost everything we read in the book we chose. Highly recommend for an unconventional tour of Edinburgh.

Great trip

This is one of the best tours I've ever done. Our driver Allan was the absolute best tour guide you could ask for. A wealth of information and humor. He knew the history, which he shared, and I especially loved his geology insights which helped understand the landscape. I don't know the other guides but I can't see how they could be better than Allan. Be prepared for rain on the trip, including some waterproof shoes and rain gear. Several stops and sights make the drive go quickly. Both of our kids, (14+8) loved it as well.

Our guide Max and this company deserves a huge shout out! I had a 10am tour scheduled, but ended up not being able to get there in time. I called and they fit me in with another time slot so we didn’t miss out. All regular tickets had sold out that day already, so without their flexibility and kindness, we would have missed out. Our guide Max was funny, knowledgeable, and patient. I highly recommend this tour.

Worth the Time

Our guide, Ross, was engaging and knew so many small details that you really wouldn’t have realized, unless you did a deep search on history and we got back to our hotel and did a deep dive on everything he told us, including the small details and it was wonderful! This is what you want in a tour guide, somebody who can project their voice over all the talking and who knows little details and is quite happy to be doing their job!

Tour was great! Driver (Mike) and tour guide (Terry) were both wonderful! I was a little concerned about some reviews stating that you were on the bus too long, but multiple stops were made for picture opportunities and snack/toilet breaks. The point of the tour was to view the highlands and that was certainly achieved! My only suggestion is to add more cows to the tour (but I also feel you can never have enough cows haha!) Overall I would certainly recommend this tour!

Enjoyable day in the Highlands.

We had a fun day driving up into the Highlands with Stuart, our driver and guide. He told us lots of interesting stories about the history of Scotland and played Scottish songs for us. We really enjoyed seeing all the different landscapes and felt like we had a good sense of what the Highlands looked like. We opted out of the cruise on Loch Ness and had a delicious lunch instead but in retrospect I would take the cruise because it’s a very big lake, and from our vantage point on the shore we could only see a small bit of it. I would like to have seen more.

This is a fantastic way to see the Highlands, our Bus driver Guide, BDog was indeed a jolly scotsman very informative and it showed that he loves the highlands, so i can forgive him for his bad dad jokes. A full day packed with awesome scenery, places of interest, and so much more. Great value.The steps up into the bus are quite steep though.
