Chela and her team are fabulous! She has so much passion and love for cooking and it shines through during the class. She is very easy to talk to and enjoys sharing details of her life and family in La Fortuna. She's working on an expansion to her farm/garden which will include a night walk through when finished! You get to pick the meal you want to eat. I highly recommend making the Rice Pudding for dessert! It was the best I've ever had.

A Cooking Experience
My sister and I loved our authentic Costa Rican cooking class. The outside kitchen is so cool! The chef, Manuel Antonio, really made our experience. He coached us through all of the meal items, DJd, held conversation and added good humor to the mix. The food and drinks were delicious. We also enjoyed walking around to see the garden and animals.

Learning about the...
Learning about the history of cocoa was interesting for me (my 12 year old would have skipped that part) but when we got to the testing and chocolate making he was all in. Letting you do the chocolate yourself, pick your toppings, and decorate your chocolate wrappers was a great experience. I would recommend it if you are looking for something smaller, more interactive and easy for kids to participate.

Sugarcane drinks can be healthy!!
The spot can be hard to find. Pay close attention to the directions, if you’re taking a cab, maybe have the driver call the host. The meal and our host were excellent. We learned a lot about Costa Rica produce and history. Many good stories. A delicious and entertaining evening.

Engaging and educational tour!
Extremely informative and entertaining tour for a small group. Our guide Jason was excellent! Super engaging and funny, was able to answer all of our questions. The samples of coffee, chocolate and sugar cane were all so delicious and really put the experience over the top. We also got to see a sloth in the trees.
The trail was very accessible and not a ton of walking involved. Decent parking, though traffic in front can make it difficult to get across to the spots. There is an attendant who will stop traffic for you to pull in and out of your parking spot. Recommend having some cash on you to tip the guides and the attendant.

Great family activity
Such a fun activity! My kids loved it and they even did something special for my daughter. Our translator Miguel was great and Melania was so sweet. We also had a wonderful male chef but I don’t remember his name. Highly recommend especially with teens. Very family friendly!

Amazing experrience, must do!
Huber & Mary are awesome! They were great with the kids and we all really learned a lot. We toured through the garden and learned about herbs, medicinal plants, and organic agriculture. Then we made our own juice and traditional CR dinner. It was all delicious! To top it all off, we saw a pair of green parrots and 3 pairs of red Macaw parrots flying through the farm and roosting in a tree. Truly an amazing experience!

Fun, tasty and full of surprises!
The perfect way to enjoy a rainy evening in La Fortuna! Nearly all of the time we spent with our group was covered areas. This is a beautiful farm and outdoor test kitchen, Costa Rican style. They attracted better birds to their yard than trained staff at the national parks found with powerful scopes—what a bonus! It was fun meeting other travelers and preparing food with them. The snacks and drinks were a real treat and dinner was delicious. A great experience from start to finish!

Uno, Dos, Tres …Chop, Eat & Dance
A fun evening had by our eight amigos who chopped and diced veggies, made tortillas from scratch, and learned some history, culture, and language skills. We all so enjoyed Cathy and her remarkable way of getting everone involved. Her dance instruction was clear and fun, and we all enjoyed the class.

Wonderful family friendly experience
This was such a great experience, especially Mariela (Mary) and Kia. It was fun, engaging, full of humor and perfect for families. My two year old even had fun! The facility is lovely and we would have done more if our schedules permitted. A great investment if you want an engaging experience to learn all about chocolate.
