Enthusiastic delivery of information, pleasant host, quality chocolate process and lots to taste :)

Only feedback is if the host could project louder, was a bit soft spoken

Thank you so much for your kind words. It was lovely to make chocolate with you all, and wonderful to get to talk shop with another chocolate maker. Thank you for the feedback! Hope the remainder of your time in wonderful Costa Rica goes so very well!

Everyone in our group adored this experience! We all adore chocolate and it was wonderful to learn about the history of cacao and how our consumption of it has changed over hundreds of years. Ansel's love for the cacao tree and passion for chocolate is beautiful to witness and she has created the perfect experience for people who love to learn (and eat chocolate)!

Naomi, Thank you so much for such a sweet and generous review! I’m really happy to hear that everyone in your group enjoyed the experience and that the history of cacao and her journey resonated with you. Sharing her story and, of course, eating chocolate along the way — is something I truly love, it means a lot to know that came through. Thank you for joining us and for appreciating the experience so fully. 🍫🌿 I hope to see you again!

This was amazing! Ansel is a very nice person and she really took time to explain us all of the cacao history, the tree, the fruit, everything you wanna know before it starts with DIY chocolate making which was awesome! I felt a bit overloaded with all this information but I loved it. She showed us how you process the cacao bean in the right order step by step and how you treat the beans correctly. At the end we all had made some chocolate to take home and for me this was not the last time I make chocolate by my own. So be careful, this can make you addicted not only to eat but also to make cacao/chocolate on your own :-D

Thank you so much for such a fun and thoughtful review! I’m really happy you enjoyed the world of cacao — from the tree and fruit all the way through to making your own chocolate. It’s true, there’s a lot to take in, and I’m glad it felt exciting.
It was a pleasure to guide you through the process step by step, and I love hearing that you left inspired to keep making chocolate on your own. You’re right, it can become a delicious (and creative!) addiction 😄
Thank you again for joining us, and you’re always welcome back for another cacao adventure!

She was super nice extremely informative. I learned so much. Best of all I'm going to try making my own chocolate. Ancel gave me confidence. I throughly enjoyed every minute.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
oh, that's so cool Rhea! I'm so delighted to hear that. And YES! You go for it, I have absolute confidence in your abilities. Thank you.

This is a great way to learn about how they make chocolate in Costa Rica and around the world. We ended up being on the tour for 3.5 hours as the host provided an abundance of information so take this into consideration when planning. In the end we did make chocolate bars that you get to keep.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! 🌿 I’m glad you enjoyed diving deep into the world of chocolate and that you left with your own handmade bars. Normally the tour runs about 2.5–3 hours, but every group is unique — sometimes the conversation and curiosity take us a little longer, which sounds like it happened with yours! I’m happy it was a rich and memorable experience for you.
