Overview
Join a local chef for an afternoon cooking class near the La Fortuna waterfall. Learn how to make Costa Rican dishes such as ceviche, patacones, cashew-encrusted seabass, and, of course, dessert in a relaxed atmosphere. I went with my wife, son (20) and daughter (18). We had a fantastic time. Scott is a fantastic (and patient) cook, with great teaching skills. We made a delicious 3 course meal and what do you know…. I actually learned several new and useful skills. All of, including my kids really enjoyed it. Icing on the cake is that Scott also runs a dog sanctuary and we were blessed to be able to play with several VERY affectionate pups. My daughter was trying to figure out how to smuggle out (Sha)Kira and Bones but had to settle for giving them lots of loving. The location is PHENOMENAL with million dollar views. We looked out over a valley and could see 10+ miles to the beautiful horizon. ¡Muchas Gracias Scott y Pura Vida! Highly recommended.

Very fun cooking class! My husband and I had an excellent time making drinks and cooking together with locally sourced ingredients. It was incredibly rewarding to sit and eat each dish. I love to cook at home and was able to learn so much from the chef, who was very personable and friendly. The chef also owns a dog rescue so that was a plus! The view from the kitchen was very scenic. You're in for a treat!

What a great hands-on family experience! It was an especially great activity for a rainy afternoon (it’s a rainforest, folks). We started by making our own mojitos (mock tails for the kiddos) and then made a 3 course meal: ceviche and platanos with black bean dip, a main course of cashew crusted sea bass with mango salsa and pork shoulder with mango chutney, and dessert of flambe’d bananas with homemade chocolate sauce and ice cream. Everything was delicious. My kids don’t eat fish and they actually ate this! Thanks to Scott and the team!!

J'ai ADORÉ mon expérience avec Scott! Il est super sympathique et disponible, tout en nous offrant d'excellents trucs culinaires et de savoureuses recettes (d'ailleurs, Scott nous envoie par courriel toutes les recettes préparées en cours, ce qui nous permet de les reproduire à la maison). Sa salle de cours est magnifique et super ensoleillée. Pendant que je cuisinais, mes enfants et mon mari sont allés pendre soin des chiens, dans le refuge de Scott qui se trouve au même endroit. deux belles activités à faire! Merci encore Scott et bien hâte de recuisiner le ceviche et bien sur, la sauce au chocolat.
