Great day out
Great day out, very well organized, driving in quality van with knowledgeable guide Luis. The day was well paced with interesting stops, time to eat, sightseeing and learning. Tarragona was beautiful and a nice change from Barcelona. The aqueduct is fascinating and the amphitheater was awesome. Sitges by the sea was great to wander around and explore. It has a quaint atmosphere with a mix of beaches and old town houses and shopping.

Barcelona
We have been on numerous tours over the years many of them informative and enjoyable-but we have never had a guide quite like Rod with Explore Catalonia (through Viator).
From the moment the tour began, Rod's enthusiasm and passion for the region were obvious. His knowledge of Catalonia's history, culture, and local traditions was impressive, and he shared it in a way that was engaging, interesting, and often humorous. It never felt like a lecture; it felt like traveling with a very knowledgeable friend who truly loves where he lives.
What really set him apart was how much he clearly cared about giving everyone the best possible experience. His storytelling, local recommendations, and personal touches made the tour memorable and far more meaningful than simply visiting the sights on our own.
If you are considering a tour with Explore Catalonia, we highly recommend it—and if you are lucky enough to have Rod as your guide, you are in for a truly exceptional experience.

An Insiders look to the beautiful Sagrada de la Familia
Jorge was fantastic. He provided what felt like a truly exceptional historical perspective of the Sagrada de la Familia with many very insightful remarks and insights.
Truly one of the most interesting tours of our European travel. I highly recommend him.

This was a great day...
This was a great day excursion. Xavier ("chavi") picked me up at my hotel. He had already picked up a nice family from Colorado. We drove directly to the Dali museum in Figueres - Xavi was telling us all about the area and the time passed quickly. We met up with the Dali specialist guide, Anatoly, near the museum where we joined his group. He was so knowledgeable and really helped contextualize the art we saw relative to what was going on in Dali's life. Anatoly escorted us around the museum so we didn't miss anything (the only bathrooms are near the beginning!). It was particularly interesting to see some of the jewelry that Dali designed - that exhibit is after you technically leave the museum so check it out on the way out! Then Xavi drove us to Girona - a charming college town on the coast. He showed us around and even showed us where several scenes from game of thrones were filmed! He was really knowledgeable but also really great at suggesting he take a picture a couple if times so I don't just have selfies! We had a fair amount of free time to explore on our own - I should have used that to eat something, but that's on me. I was just so distracted by taking pictures that I lost track of time. I did have a churro-like pastry called a Xuixo ("choochoo"). I felt like it was a lot for him to be our guide and driver, but felt like he did a great job with both. I was back at my hotel around 6:30 pm. It was a really neat day!

Excellent wine, food, and fun
This was a really fun, unique way to see Barcelona. The tour leader was knowledgeable, fun, and approachable, and the selections were unique and felt much more local than anything I would have been able to source on my own for a short trip. The wine and food were nicely portioned, and the team was able to accommodate dietary restrictions relatively easily. This was a great value and a very fun way to access a more locally authentic experience.

Tour and Day to Remember!
Daniela picked us up from our hotel lobby. Due to the rain, we did a little more driving and she gave us an overall history of the city. Took us through a market and showed us the old monastery that was discovered under an area that they had intended to expand to, but preserved instead! Than we walked the Old town area where the Church of Barcelona and others were located and showed us where the old Roman quarter was. She then found us a place for a light lunch near the Sagrada Familia. She came to pick us up in time for entrace for the church, She gave us a tour and an explanation of Gaudi's design and his vision of family and what God means, all very expressive and captivating!! After, we went inside to marvel some more. Once done, we opted out of Park Guell because of the rain. Instead she dropped us off near a leather store to do a little shopping. It was an awesome day, very informative!! Daniela was a great guide with a wonderful sense of humor, making the day enjoyable in spite of the rain!!

Montserrat Monastery Tour
The bus was very comfortable. The tour guide was concise in his review of the regional history, legends, interesting facts and general things to know, especially what to expect upon arrival to the monetary. Marc was professional and genuine in guiding and addressing questions and comments. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Coach drive for an hour to the cog wheel train that took us uphill to the monastery. Beautiful views from the top, looking down the mountain side. Visited the Virgin Mary statue which was quite a surreal experience. Cafes to be able to get snacks and drinks from to keep you going through the day. 7 hours trip was made special with our tourist guide John who was very knowledgeable and his driver of the coach Geordie getting us there and back safely. Thank you for a special day.

The BEST private Montserrat Tour
We had an AMAZING day with our tour guide, Joan. He was on time, polite, and just as knowledgeable about Monteseratt as GOOGLE! We booked a half-day tour, so he gave us choices on what to do, so we would make the most of our day. We learned a lot of history, were mesmerized by the architecture, and enjoyed the walk to the cross. It was the perfect day!

Outstanding Tour
Sergio was an outstanding tour guide. We had a great time exploring the medieval villages. Sergio planned the trip so that we would see the most sights at optimal times, given the tricky weather forecast with the rain. His explanations of the history were thorough and he made sure to consult with us to see if we needed anything throughout the day. I have planned many tours through Viator in Europe, and this was by far the best one!

Worth doing!
We had such a great time. Our guide, Angie was a wealth of information and was very engaging with everyone on our tour. Thoroughly enjoyed her, thoroughly enjoyed the information in the bike ride. This is not strenuous at all and a great way to get a feel for beautiful Barcelona
