This private tour was the perfect introduction to Barcelona and the work of Antonio Gaudi and is led by one of the best tour guides we have ever had! Adrian was in communication with us the day before and picked us up promptly at the Eurostars Hotel. (I recommend a 5 minute taxi ride from the front of the ship as it was a 45 minute walk from our ship to the port entrance) Then we were off on a perfect one-day tour of Barcelona beginning with the spectacular Montjuic mountaintop view of the city, followed by a walking tour of the Gothic Quarter where he introduced us to the early history of Barcelona, as well as the traditional Caganer figures (which of course we had to purchase for our grandchildren) and one of the oldest candy shops in the city (with free samples)! We then traveled to a excellent restaurant where we enjoyed a traditional tapas lunch, followed by a 5 minute walk to Sagrada Familia! After Adrian provided careful instructions on use of the audio guide, he walked us to the front of the line for an hour tour of this magnificent basicilica! Afterward, we rode to Park Guell to explore the Gaudi architecture, gift shop, and panoramic city views. Throughout the 8 hour tour, Adrian shared interesting information about the history, culture, architecture of this wonderful city. He was extremely friendly, professional, knew how to get us to each destination quickly and safely, and was careful to return us to the starting point in plenty of time to return to the ship. This was our first full day in Barcelona. We chose this as a way to see the city and identify places we would like to revisit. This turned out to be a great opportunity and well worth the time and money. We were pleased to have Vinyet as our tour guide. She was very pleasant easy to understand and very fun to be with. She was very informed about the history of the city the Ark the architecture and knew her way around town very very well. It made the four hour excursion very easy. I would highly recommend this tour and would seek out. Vinyet as my guide.
