Itinerary
The full-day tour begins with pickup at your Barcelona accommodation and a drive south along the Costa Dorada to the ancient city of Tarragona. Called Tarraco during the days of the Roman Empire, this was one of the main cities of ancient Hispania and bears archaeological traces of its stately past through well-preserved ruins.
Explore the UNESCO World Heritage–listed complex with your guide, listening to tales of power and glory as you visit the ancient city walls, Roman Forum, and shoreline amphitheater that dates back to the 2nd century.
Travel back into the modern era as you head up the coast to Sitges, a charming fishing town that was once a popular health tourism destination thanks to its proximity to both sea and mountains. Take a walking tour through the winding streets of the old town center, passing landmarks including the church of San Bartolomé and Santa Tecla, and Modernist gems such as Casa Bacardi.

Vincent is an excellent guide! Very fun with tons of local information & stories. This small group tour was excellent. Tarragona is lively & full of history. Maybe a good idea to wear your swimsuit for the crystal clear water at Sitges beach. There are outdoor showers tonrinse off, but no place to change.
Great tour explaining history sand importance of tarragona. Also provided a very good overview of the seaside town of sitges. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Luis.
This was a great side trip for the days we were here after our cruise. We are 68 and 65 and my wife had an injured knee which limited her mobility. Diego was our guide and driver and was incredibly knowledgeable and catered to our needs. Everything we saw was amazing and the time at the beach was perfect. Would definitely recommend.
Our tour guide was Diego. We ended up with a private tour. Diego was great. He was very informative and knowledgable. We had a great time. Would highly recommend this trip if you like history.

We learned so much about the region and the culture on this tour. Eduardo, our guide, was friendly and attentive to everyone's needs. He pointed out many things in the landscape along the way, and told us about the history of all the places we visited.
Be prepared with comfortable walking shoes, water, sunscreen, and a hat. There are a lot of stairs and uphill walks in Tarragona.
The restaurants in Sitges are wonderful!

This tour was exceptional!! Our tour guide Diego is a wealth of knowledge. Our small group felt like a private tour. We moved at our own pace and were able to truly enjoy each point of interest. UNESCO Roman sites and views were absolutely amazing. We were even able to pause to sample cava and vermut from the local region, as well as the infamous nougat from Torrons Vicens. Truly an immersive cultural experience at every turn of this tour.

Lluís was an excellent tour guide and Tarragona is a must see! We stopped to explore around an ancient Roman bridge on the way to Tarragona and Lluís shared lots of knowledge about how it was built, answering all our questions. At Tarragona, we got some time to walk around the city and explore some ruins which the city was built upon before heading to Sitges for lunch. Sitges beach was beautiful but we unfortunately did not have time to look around because the restaurants in the area were all booked up and the only one available took the full 2 hours to serve us. Nevertheless, the food was great and the atmosphere relaxing. Overall a really nice excursion from the main city, and the hotel pickup/dropoff was the cherry on top!

Louis was an incredible guide. Knowledge and passionate about history he truly made a long day feel engaging at every step. We never felt rushed on this tour and I would highly recommend this as it was well organized with a good amount of free time. We never ended up going into the amphitheater which was disappoint as it says it’s included but everything else was amazing
Very good experience, our guide had a big amount of knowledge about tarragona. We had time to explore and to get some souvenirs. Very puntual at pick up. A secure driver, too. I would like time at sitges beach.
Our guide (Diego) was extremely friendly and a very interesting man, but he talked incessantly. Like literally an hour and twenty minutes nonstop from Badalona to Tarragona. Time management was also questionable - we left Tarragona at 2:45 and drive an hour to Sitges without having had an opportunity to eat lunch first. That's late even by Spanish standards.
Tarragona was my favorite!!! What a beautiful town with amazing history and warm, bright energy. Sitges and the old church at the seaside beautiful also. Our tour guide Diego was so positive, passionate to teach us about each place that we stopped. I would definitely recommend this tour ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was a very nice experience outside of Barcelona, the tour guide handled the driving and guiding very well. Lluis was very knowledgeable. The only thing that I wasn't thrilled about was the early pick up while we drove around for almost an hour to pick up 2 others.
The only criticism I have for this tour is that although it was a small group of six people and a very nicely sized van, the driver did not have a speaker in the van and was speaking to us with a very soft voice. We did ask him to speak louder but he was not able to. When we were able to hear him, the content was excellent, however, it seemed that he could have easily had a microphone in the van. This is our only criticism of otherwise a very complete and comprehensive tour of the sites on our itinerary.
We could have easily organized for ourselves walking tours of these sites and would have had the ability to hear from a guide, however, we chose this route and we hope that in the future the tour operator provides the driver with the ability to converse at a volume which will allow all the riders in the van to hear his content.
Was called the night before for pickup instructions. On the day of pickup, was very punctual. Our tour guide Diego was very knowledgeable, our tour was in English but he also knows Spanish and Catalan. Very kind and warm, the tour felt very personal although it was a group tour, Diego went above and beyond navigating through places, giving us information of the sites and history. We even went inside a church at Terragona and one of the locals even gave Diego and us more info on they're small town and church history. The tour was definitely worth it. Will recommend to future travelers.
Wonderful tour guide. Learned a lot! He was attentive to our needs, was very knowledgeable, had a great pace, and also acknowledged our desire to sometimes go at our own pace or on a detour. Perfect experience.

Excellent tour with a very knowledgable guide. The history of Tarragona was fascinating and the time in Sitges was relaxing.
Our guide was funny and friendly. The tour was 8 people mixed Spanish and English. The only issue is the description says entrance to 2 of the Tarragona attractions and we did not go into those as part of the tour. Tour was about 8-9 hours total with traffic on the way back.
Very informative, beautiful scenery, moved at a reasonable pace. Be prepared to do a bit of walking. Bring sun protection.
Great tour, full of history and lots of information shared by our guide Lluis. I was part of a mini group and really felt like a personalized tour. You can tell Lluis is passionate about the history of Spain and he shared with us lots of interesting facts about Tarragona, this city was the highlight of the tour! I recommend it!
Tarragona is Beautiful and rich in history. Sitges is a nice beach town where we enjoyed lunch and a stroll through town. Our tour guide Miquel was informative and helpful.
You get a better experience with a small tour group. Miquel was full of knowledge and extremely pleasant. He had a great personality as well. We learned a lot about this old city and enjoyed his recommendation for a great Italian restaurant in Sitges!
We had a wonderful time on mother's day and it made the holiday for my wife. Eduardo was AMAZING! He knew so much of the history of the cities and how to get in and out of things efficiently while keeping it both informative and exciting. Gave us great tips for lunch and knew every restroom stop around. He even stopped at an Aqueduct that is better than most we have seen in Italy. Book this for a fun day and ask for Eduardo
Had a fun day with Eduardo as our guide. People I met on the tour were nice. Enjoyed visiting both Tarragon and Sitges.
