A day well spent with Jose Miguel!

The tour was very extensive with many stops. Our guide, Jose Miguel was extremely well informed about the area and both its natural history and political history. He was very accommodating and responsive to questions and concerns. Safety was always a primary concern and we felt well cared for. Lunch was excellent and we had the opportunity to see much that was off the beaten track. He was equally expert on flora and fauna as well as cultural, geographical and historical matters. All in all, it was a wonderful tour and a day well spent.

Excellent full day experience-not to be missed!

Wonderful opportunity to experience the more remote areas of Sao Miguel. We were fortunate enough to be the only ones on the tour which became a private tour. Our guide was Daniel and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed the full day tour and were tired and satisfied at the end. Lunch was traditional and delicious. I think our guide Daniel was related to everyone we met.

Our tour guide, Catia,...

Our tour guide, Catia, provided lots of information about the area. She paid particular attention to us being comfortable and our needs being met. She learned all of our names and used them when addressing us. The van was very comfortable. Loved that Catia has a headset and the van had a speaker so that we could hear everything that she said. Lunch was plentiful and interesting - lots of traditional foods. The walk in the park was longer than comfortable for some guests, but the reward was stunning views. Very nice tour.

A Must Do Tour

After visiting the western part of the island the previous day, this full day tour of the east was equally spectacular. From breathtaking views, to the active geothermal fields, and capped with a lunch featuring “cozido das Furnas” (a delicious hearty stew simmered for hours using the geothermal heat from the nearby calderas) this is a tour not to be missed. We also could not have had a better guide (Marcio), who was knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about the island of his birth. We highly recommend Azores Nature Tours….

My favourite Azorean experience

Loved this experience so much! I was nervous about being able to eat as a vegan, but the restaurant we went to, Tony's, had vegetarian cozido, which I was assured was vegan. Our guide was great and gave us a lot of good local insights, incredible views, interesting and unique things about the Azores. I won't spoil the surprise but it was very cool. The thermal baths at Dona Beija are incredible. Definitely recommend bringing a dark bathing suit so it doesn't stain, as well as a dark towel. You can rent towels there for 4 euros and a locker for 2.

Great all day tour.

This was a great all day tour also. We had a great time and a great meal of food cooked in the Caldeiras. The tea plantation was okay just extremely busy and crowded! The other stops were better. Lunch was not included but we ate at Tony’s and it was well worth it. Definitely a great tour to do if you are on Sao Miguel.

Great tour

We had a wonderful experience on our excursion. Our guide was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, with a great personality. We learned so many interesting things throughout the tour and really enjoyed every moment. We also felt very safe and comfortable with his driving, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable and relaxing. Excellent service from beginning to end. We would definitely recommend this excursion and our guide to anyone visiting!

Best guide for bird watching and families!

I traveled to Sao Miguel with my husband and 3 kids. We wanted to see as much of the island as we could and knew that traveling with a local guide would be the best way to learn about the island. We booked two days so we could see different areas with the island and we were with Delfin for both of those days. He was such an informative guide telling us about the island, the people, the cows!, and the volcanic formation of the island. My husband was specifically interested in seeing the Priolo while we were there. Delfin made no promises that we would get to see it however we saw 15-20! Thanks to Delfin for knowing the territories to go to. We learned so much and had a great time thanks to Delfin and his patience with our kids as well!

Enjoyable day

This trip is made for travelers coming with a cruise ship, we didnt know but our guide picked us up from our hotel and took us for the trip anyway. We drove and got storytellings, and it was nice. Later we had our time to have a spa at Terra Nostra, and enjoyed the botanical garden there. Later we had more drivings and storytelling. The day was good and we had our best time with Joao, our guide. It was a quick tour, but we loved it. Reccomend this.

Fantastic time in Punta Delgada

I wasn't expecting much from this excursion and, to be honest, my impression of the tours offered in Ponta Delgada weren't really interesting to me. I was so glad I took the plunge with this tour though. Our drive to Sete Cidades and the northern part of the island was breathtaking. We stopped at several viewpoints for pictures of the lakes and our tour guide offered to take some spectacular pictures of my family. My daughter especially loved feeding some ducks at the shore of Lagoa das Sete Cidades with some spare cat food the guide had. My favorite part was our visit to the Mosteiros Islets, something I've only seen in pictures and, combined with the area's cliffs and black volcanic sand beaches, made this booking well worth it. To top off all the gorgeous scenery we visited, our tour guide was very knowledgable of the areas and provided insight into all sorts of questions we had. He also knew there would be other tours visiting the areas we went to and adjusted our itinerary so that there were either very few people or no one else but us in the areas we visited. It really made our tour feel personal and curated just for us.

Our 2nd time! Wonderful.

This is the second time we have gone on this tour in three years. We really think it is a great tour and lots of fun and a wonderful way to see so much for a very short period of time. The guys are really making an effort to personalize the tour and give you information about the Island. I'd recommend it again -we thought Carlos was fabulous and we had such a fun time with him.
