This was a great experience today. Henry was our guide was nice but lacked enthusiasm. He was unsure about what tour we had as I had to tell him that we would be swimming in the geothermal springs which might I say was wonderful and very relaxing, however Henry told us we would have to pay to enter but I advised him that this was included in the trip, he promptly checked with head office and was advised that it was indeed included. The Furnas volcano was fab and a real sight to see. We also visited the pineapple plantation which was not on the list and an added bonus. On the way back to the ship Henry asked if we wanted to visit a local bakery where we could buy the local cakes, also not on the agenda but a lovely touch.

This was a very interesting and informative tour. The guide was outgoing and knowledgeable. He made our excursion an awesome experience. The volcanos are awesome; especially the one that blows smoke back at you. Enjoyed going to the hot springs and putting our feet in the hot water and then the cold. My feet felt rejuvenated.

This tour did not produce what was promised. There was no water available to us. We left late and people from another ship were allowed to join us which resulted in our tour being rushed because their ship had a different departure time . Our guide didn't give us pineapple sampling as other guides were doing and the stop at the tea plantation did not have any tea tasting or time to shop. I have used Viator many times before and this was my first negative experience.

We’d also like to clarify that our tours are designed to offer a comfortable experience in light of the limited time that cruise ship passengers typically have available, and that all vehicles are equipped with complimentary water, which you could request from our guide.
Regarding the fact that our guide did not offer pineapple samples, we respectfully inform you that this is not within our control and is a courtesy provided by the plantation to large groups from travel agencies.
As for the tea plantation, we do not understand how you did not have your tea given that there are two tasting rooms and self-service tea is constantly available.
We value your feedback immensely and your input will help us address any shortcomings and ensure a better experience for our future guests.

Our guide Joao was congenial and knowledgeable. However, we did not get the tour that was described in the purchased itinerary. I had no internet so I couldn't provide proof. The tour only included Sete Cidades but not Furnas volcano nor the tea plantation which I was looking forward to. Instead there was a stop at a pineapple plantation which nobody in the group was interested in. While Sete Cidades was amazing, there are no bathrooms at the viewpoint. The bathroom stop is a 5 min drive to a restaurant in the village. However, the line was long due to several tour buses that day and there is only 1 stall for women. The time waiting in line could have been better spent exploring the village. If you do choose this tour, make sure you print your itinerary.

I appreciate your review and i would like to personally apologize for what happened and I take full responsibility if you didn't participate in the full tour..
However, I am surprised by the situation.
The tour took place in its totality including the tea factory and honestly I don't quite understand that, if you knew you had booked a tour for 2 volcanoes.. why did you left the tour at the first drop-off with the people who had booked only the visit to Sete Cidades volcano and let me continue with the rest of the travellers towards Furnas volcano?
During the entire journey, I made sure to remind everyone about what they had visited and what was coming up next.
I repeated several times that after the visit to the Sete Cidades volcano, I would be dropping off the people who booked only the visit to Sete Cidades and continuing the tour to Furnas volcano with those who booked Sete Cidades & Furnas volcano.
I don't understand why you left at the first drop-off knowing that the tour was going to continue or why you didn't ask about this.
I apologize for not remembering all the reservations in detail, but I do my best to inform travelers along the tour what they have visited to ensure that there are no unforeseen circumstances and when I announced the first drop-off and you left, I automatically assumed that it was the end of your tour and continued with the other travelers for the rest of the tour.
I'm also disappointed to hear that the fact that we kindly stopped to allow people to use toilets, the fact that the King's view viewpoint is closed or the visit to the pineapple plantation which everybody finds very interesting and is part of the extended tour you booked, serves to justify your less than good review.
I reiterate that I will assume the error, but it was humanely innocent on my part because I didn't realize when you got out of the van that you still had to take part in the rest of the tour.

Diogo was outstanding. Went out of his way to show us everything the island had to offer. Even though the weather was bad, he found a way to get us the best experience. His knowledge of the island was amazing. Highly recommended him and this tour.

Lovely and informative tour of high points of Sao Miguel island including Sete Cidades, tea factory, north coast lookout, Furnas and hot springs and Terra Nostra garden. Diogo was helpful and informative about life in the Azores as well as information on sites. Entertaining. A great outing. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful excursion we had with Jose Melo. Jose was so informative about his island. The drive was so beautiful. A stop at a tea factory was educational and very scenic as well. The stops at Sete Cicades and Furnas Volcano were remarkable. We also stopped for a lunch break at a very cute local bakery shop in town, we loved it all! Thank you Jose, you made this so memorable for us, we want to come back!

This is a nice tour that goes to several sites worth seeing. The smaller van allows access to sites that bigger busses can not go. The 5-6 hour length of the tour gives the extra time to see more than just one or two high lights.

We arrived at the specified location to start the tour. In fact we arrived more than an hour early - and waited an hour and a half. Our tour guide never showed up (despite his deceptive tales otherwise). But fortunately we were able to hire an honest tour guide later - who saved the day for us!

We have no idea where you were waiting, but it wasn't at the meeting point where we could catch up with all the other customers. You and your friend probably went for a walk thinking that you could keep all the other customers waiting and that a simple lie would solve the situation.
It's extremely embarrassing to lie like you're doing, especially when you're calling me, the other guides and 17 other reservations who came forward a liar.
• 17 people were present in the room at the cruise terminal with me and the guide where you claim to have been early on and saw no one!
• 17 travelers saw the only vans stopped outside the terminal and some went to them!
• 15 people waited until 09:18 and 2 until 09:35 to start the tour, but you continue to lie and try to find excuses, continuing with your threat to give us a bad evaluation.
Our conscience is clear and you can read proof of that on the recent review!
We appreciate your feedback and don't want to miss the opportunity to enlighten all travelers about why we have now had our first negative review ever.
For all travelers looking to trust us, a guide from the company and I personally, were as expected at the pick up point from very early on, holding a sign with all the names and slowly, some reservations started to appear.
The pick up is 15 minutes before the tour starts, as stated in the tour information, and we have a margin from 09:00 to 09:30 for ships docked before 09:00.
By 9.10am almost all the bookings had shown up, some very early, leaving 3 bookings to complete the list. We asked for some more time to wait for the latecomers and at 9.18am the first fully-booked vehicle started the tour. I, the legal representative of the firm, remained on site with the nameplate until 9.37am, when I started the tour with the clients who had been waiting patiently.

The island was beautiful, with hydrangeas lining the road and tall green hills everywhere.
The lakes were pretty and the Sete Cidades quaint.
It was a great tour and bus and tour guide were good.

We had a great time. Went with 4 other people we didn’t know. Perfect size group (7people). He provided car seat for my 2yo- it was installed and ready to go. We found him easily in the cruise terminal. He had a sign with my name; It was very visible. Everyone on the tour was happy.

We really enjoyed our tour with Igoxares! Joao Correa ‘s son drove us in an 8 passenger van. He was most accommodating to us and showed us various places in the island. The fog was really bad that day and we still were able to get a feel for the island. Highly recommend this tour!!!

Our guide picked us up at the cruise terminal. There were 8 of us total so we were in a van. It was a beautiful drive up to the Seven Cities with the driver pointing our sights of interest and answering any questions we had. We even had to slow down for a herd of cows crossing the road!! All the stops were beautiful and interesting. We had plenty of time for photos and to ask questions. We stopped at the pineapple plantation for a quick look at how they are grown indoors. Afterward a quick driving tour of the main town area ended the tour. Our guide was willing to drop those who wanted to downtown to shop and continued to the cruise terminal for those who wanted to go back to the ship. A great tour with a small group and wonderful guide. Anyone visiting this beautiful island should get out into the countryside to truely appreciate its beauty.
