What are people saying about Athens

Wonderful adventure!
My family loved this experience! Joy, our tour guide, was great and so was our driver, Andrew. We were a small group, 15 people and traveled in a smaller bus. We would stop at least every 1.5-2 hours for a break.
As we rode through Greece Joy, would tell us about the area. Then, at our destination, she would walk us through the history of the area and give us more insight into the Greek mythology. The tour included tickets to the various sites and museums, and we were grateful that we didn't have to stand in lines to get the tickets and in one case were allowed special entrance to avoid a really long line.
We chose the 4-star hotel and they we ok. I think the hotel, Amalia, was mainly catering group tours. The one thing I really like is that they delivered our luggage to outside our rooms and in the morning picked the up from outside our doors. At them we received a breakfast and dinner, which were served buffet style. The breakfasts were good and the dinners had many Greek dishes. You were on your own for lunch and that occurred while we traveled to our next destination and so, between our tour guide and driver, the lunch place was usually chosen. We were happy with their choices and there was something for everyone on the menu, even a 7-year-old, that was acceptable.

Great driver and fun experience
Theo was a wonderful tour guide! He took us to many wonderful places and explained many things to us about the history of the area and the experience of the Apostle Paul when he was in Athens and Corinth. He took us to see some beautiful art in churches and we got to see the ruins of the port of Cenchrea where there is an ancient baptismal pool that was used in the 1st century. He showed us the site of the isthmian games which probably occurred while Paul was in Corinth as well as the ancient road that was used to transport boats from between the Aegean and Ionian seas before the Corinth canal was built. He took us to the ancient city ruins of Corinth where we got to see the bema of Paul and ancient marketplaces where Paul might have worked as a tent maker. He even took us up to see the view of Corinth from the acropolis above the city. As well as being a great tour guide, Theo was very nice and fun to talk with. He shared many aspects of Greek culture with us and was very kind.
My only issues were with Viator, since their app doesn’t work very well. I downloaded the app, but my reservation never showed up in my account and when they sent the email confirmation when I clicked on get tickets it just said “oops, error.” I don’t know if the entrance tickets to each historic site were supposed to be included in the cost of the Viator tickets, but we ended up having to pay the entry fee at each place.
Also, it would have been much nicer if the tour guide was able to come into the archeological sites to explain things. It is a little hard to figure out everything from the signs and the audio tour alone. Now that I am home I realized that I missed seeing the Erastus inscription at Corinth because I did not realize it was there and did not know where to look.

This was an excellent tour. Our guide was Ermes who had a very good knowledge of Ancient Greek history- the information was about right- neither too less, nor too much. Ermes was friendly and courteous , plus very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommended this tour to anyone who visits tge Acropolis and the ancient Agora

Absolutely amazing tour...
Absolutely amazing tour guide! Vangelis was incredibly knowledgeable and you could really tell how much he loves history. He made everything come alive. He welcomed questions and even took the time to look things up if he wasn’t sure. Very engaging, and always made sure we were comfortable. One of the best guides I’ve ever had!

We had a great time...
We had a great time touring the Acropolis and Athens city center—it was a perfect mix of history, amazing views, and exploring the city. Peggy and Vivi were fantastic guides, super friendly and knowledgeable, and they made the whole experience really fun and easy to enjoy.

Our fabulous tour guide was Aphrodite
This tour was our highlight of Athens. The tour guide always makes the difference and our guide was Aphrodite. She was so personable and knowledgeable. We had plenty of time for viewing and she kept us moving. I don't feel like we missed anything. This was a wonderful and memorable experience thanks to Aphrodite.

Fantastic bike tour in Athens!
We had an absolutely fantastic bike tour in Athens with Sterios — truly one of the highlights of our trip.
From the very beginning, Sterios was friendly, respectful, and genuinely funny, and we clicked with him instantly. He has an impressive depth of knowledge about Athens and its sights, but what really stood out was how naturally he shared it — engaging, relaxed, and never overwhelming. As our first tour guide in Athens, he honestly set the bar very high.
It had rained the night before, and Sterios thoughtfully adjusted the route to avoid muddy or slippery paths, which we really appreciated. That kind of situational awareness and care made us feel completely comfortable and well looked after throughout the tour.
He also took the time to recommend excellent bars and restaurants around the city. We didn’t manage to try all of them during our stay, but the ones we did visit were spot on — fantastic recommendations that we’re still talking about.
This was our first “touristy” bike ride, and we loved it far more than we expected. The time flew by without us even noticing, and we still think back on how much fun we had. Sterios truly elevated the entire experience and made it memorable in the best possible way.
Highly, highly recommended.

Stairways to heaven in Meteora.
The bus from Athens was easy to find among the other buses as George, our driver had a list in large type with everyone’s names. The bus was comfortable with WiFi and charging ports. The ride was long but we stopped half through for a snack and a break. We met our guide Maria in town. The lunch buffet was great. We had plenty of time at each Monastery, we toured 3, although the first one was large and filled with students so we could have spent a little more time looking around. Maria gave us lots of interesting and historical information about the area and each Monastery. She answered many questions and was friendly and personable. Be ready for gorgeous views, interesting history and a lot of steps and walking. It was an unforgettable day and a wonderful way to see a unique part of Greece. Well worth the price which was less than a two hour tour of the Acropolis. The trip lasted 14 hours from pick up to drop off but there were opportunities for snacks and bathroom breaks through out the day. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who is able to do a lot of walking (although you could stay at the base of any of the sites and the views are still amazing) and is not afraid of heights.

Great tour would recommend
We are so glad that we booked this tour, especially the early start. Our guide Niamb was fantastic with a wealth of experience and knowledge. The early start meant we were cool enough and beat some of the crowds. We booked the museum ticket at the same time which was invaluable. Took my 77 year old mum who managed it well. Would highly recommend.

Three tours in one!
This experience is like three tours in one! We had a fantastic day with a very knowledgable guide. The first part was a walking tour through the city, then we met up with more people before heading up to the hill to the ruins and ended our day with a tour of the Acropolis museum (which was only the two of us with our guide). I highly recommend going to the museum to get a better understanding of what you see at the ruins site. Tina walked us through the museum and did an excellent job of making the connections between what we had just seen throughout the ruins and the museum exhibits. We greatly appreciated that we were not rushed and that our guide spent extra time with us to make sure we saw everything. Tina's pride in her country, as well as, her love of history and mythology was evident throughout the entire day.

Exceeded my expectations
I ate breakfast before the 9:30 tour- big mistake!! I couldn’t enjoy all the food they gave us, which included large sesame pretzel type thing, charcuterie with three kinds of homemade sliced meat, feta cheese and a delicious cheddar type cheese, wine and raki, fresh grapes (the best ever- so sweet and fresh they popped when you bit them, a beef sandwich called a slovakia or something like that, and lastly a fried dough covered with honey and cinnamon. We had to walk to each place, so went through many different neighborhoods. Besides these two places, we went to a honey and olive oil tasting and a tasting for Greek liqueurs. In the honey and olive oil place, I bought some honey/based creams. Our guide Micki (Nicki?) spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable and nice. Our group of 8 got along very well. Lots of exercise and good food! It exceeded my expectations
