Day trip to Delphi with some drawbacks

Well paced transport to both the Delphi site and the museum, along with a stop at a beautiful monastery. But you’ll be pressured to have a meal at driver Mike’s lunch spot. The view is appealing and the food is fine, but Mike clearly has a relationship with the place and he was frank about “the way things work“, which we took as a hint that he gets a commission for bringing people there. He’s a good driver, but his personality is a bit of a handful…he will debate even small details with you. And the trip is a bit pricey for what’s provided.

Loved St. Lucas monastery. It is a must see. Some of the most beautiful mosaics ever. And Delphi is amazing. Walk all the way to the top! It’s worth it. And we had lunch at the most beautiful location overlooking Corinth Gulf. And Michael was great. It was all so incredible!

We had a wonderful day trip to Delphi with Petros as our driver. He was very well-organized, punctual, and drove safely throughout the journey. Petros is also a great conversationalist with a deep knowledge of Greek history—his insights really enriched our understanding of the sites we visited. One of the highlights was the lunch he arranged at a local restaurant with beautiful views—it was the perfect break during our trip and a great way to experience local cuisine. We absolutely loved our day with Notis, thank you! We learned so much about Greek history, culture, and cuisine. His recommendation for lunch was excellent! There are quite a few steps at the temple and not that many railings. Something to keep in mind if someone in your party has mobility issues. It sprinkled on and off making the steps/paths slippery. Tennis shoes or hiking shoes with grip are a must. Such a fantastic day with breathtaking views, once in a lifetime experiences, the olive grove and learning about traditional harvesting was unbelievable.

I’m am so happy I booked this trip to Delphi! Our driver was so knowledgeable and kind. We saw so many beautiful places and arrived there seamlessly. We were not stuck with a large crowd ever and it felt like we could move and flow at our own speed. Our driver made sure we had water and coffee the whole time and was an endless well of knowledge! He also took us to a beautiful restaurant to eat in Delphi and then we got to walk around the little town on the way out with stunning views and cobblestone streets. It was the perfect start to our trip!

A Countryside View of Greece

Our driver Panos and our guide George were just top notch. We were treated royally. We couldn’t have asked for better, more informative guides than these two. Easy to understand, full of Greek knowledge and friendly. What a great combination! The tour showed us the Greek countryside and villages that are common in this part of Greece. Seeing goat-herders, numerous olive trees and farms growing corn and other vegetables was enlightening too. A visit to an ancient Monastery and Church were inspiring. Getting away from the hectic city life gave us a different view entirely of Greece. Walking through the ski town and seeing snow at the top of the mountains was incredible. We enjoyed our delicious lunch in a family run cafe complete with an amazing view. This tour was both informative and relaxing due to our fabulous guides. Thank you George and Panos!!!

Delphi was amazing! Yiannis our driver was very kind and helpful. The views along the way were beautiful, lunch was delicious, and Delphi itself although we were hot and sweating - we would do it again in a heartbeat!
